Not the cab cars honestly, those Metrolink cab cars until the Hyundai Roadom cars arrived to supplement them. Also, Metrolink borrowed some cars form an Utah commuter rail. which retired
Too mad Metra never ordered Bombardier bilevels - that’s what they should have done in the early 2000s for their busiest lines instead of having more gallery cars (they can travel at higher speeds and are more wheelchair accessible, plus they’re faster to load and unload passengers with multiple side doors instead of one center door)
metrolink never sold their bombardier cab cars to Caltrain, Caltrain bought the cab cars and coaches from Sounder but Metrolink only sold regular coaches to caltrain.
@@sixfifty_sebbMetrolink sold 15 of their Cars to Caltrain. A easy way for this is if you see the Caltrain Baby Bullet service. There is EX-Metrolink cars with the old livery but instead with the metrolink logo, the Caltrain logo is imprinted in the cars.
We will miss you old cab cars from 2009…
Those were Metrolink’s original BBL cab cars, built in the early 90s
@@F59PHIWHAT NO WAY
@@Happyfacee763 Yes way. They served the entire Metrolink system since they started in 1992.
Awesome Ethan! These are the same model of coaches that Tri-Rail uses down here in South Florida
Same Model used by GO transit in Toronto (they were the original buyer and have the largest fleet)
It isn’t the same model if you look closely those coaches have 4 windows on the side tri rail UTDCS have 5
@@Grupocondorrfs Good catch! I'll rephrase, they generally look and feel alike lol
How ya been Ethan? Obviously I took a break from social media lol. No reflection on you whatsoever. Hope all is well
@paulmoreno6279 been doing well, thanks!
rare catch! awesome!
Nice catch! Caught the same coaches myself when they initially left LA on the Southwest Chief.

Great video I subscribed
That has to be California
No, it passed on Hiawatha 331 before u came
Oh
But why is a NER café in the Midwest of all places?
Amtrak is short on regular café cars, so they “borrowed” a few from the northeast
When will these come back to Chicago?
At least 2 weeks from now, they still have to be rebuilt and inspected
@@RailfannerAviationthose Gen 1 bombadier bi levels are turning into coaches

I hope they back to leading trains
Mare they being rebuilt or retrofitted?
They’re being converted into coaches
What are they passenger cars?
Yes, but in need of refurbishment. They are all dead going to the plant in Milwaukee to be rebuilt
Ethan is right

Hey give those back
Rare
i just want the cabcar functional T-T
I understand that METROLINK retired These and sold some to Amtrak and Cal Train
Amtrak won’t buy these ever. Metrolink is refurbishing some of the ones they still have.
