i saw that it was a thing, but when i tried to do it on my old laptop i get a bsod - so here's my question: did you succeed in doing that on a physical machine? :)
@@milos. you need to install every ever released update for Windows vista for the extended kernel to work. Now you need to boot into the Windows vista installer and the boot repair will repair the bosd and then you have to install every update and try it again.

With the Vista Extended Kernel, running modern Chromium and Firefox Quantum browsers are possible. I'd recommend running one of those or New Moon.

Doesn't IE9 support TLS 1.2 if you install the Server 2008 updates?
