I wish I had known about that to pirate Office 2002 on my NEC laptop before that, as it had Word 2002 but not the full suite that my school had on their PCs (I later got myself a copy, but by then, Windows XP was no longer current), as well as getting Microsoft Plus as I believe the Microsoft Plus packs weren't available to buy in Singapore back in the day. 3:37 I can tell that the update mechanism had already been updated to the one included with Windows 7.

That's probably because of the Spambot outbreak that has been happening around RUclips lately. Also, thanks for taking my suggestion. I do want to point out that if you were to actually install the Chinese language pack on Windows Vista that you would get a new Text to Speech Voice called Microsoft Lili, which is a Chinese voice but can also speak English, but the user could still choose Anna as the default voice (which is also the case in Windows 7). Also, I had this problem with the stuttering sound that you had in this video (which used to be a problem in Windows XP virtual machines on Windows 8/10 hosts in older versions of VMWare) which could be fixed by launching Windows Media Player, switching it to Now Playing view and minimizing it. However, unlike XP virtual machines, this workaround doesn't seem to work for Vista virtual machines. Some sort of glitch with either VMWare or Windows from what I can see, as I never had this problem on Windows 7 when I had it as my host operating system.
Another option would be to try the old dreamscene activators originally made for Windows 7. They used to also work on Windows 8 I think so maybe it does work on 10. Don't forget to make a restore point.

Microsoft really did something that made my life much less complicated than it had to be in 2007. I really took the ad-joke "Don't ask what Vista can do for you, ask what you can do for Vista" to heart and I said enough to Windows and hardware assessment and all the crap MS came up with and finally found it in me to move on and take that Ubuntu Live CD from 2007 more seriously and proceeded to actually install it onto my computer and use the OS on my daily driver laptop, struggling with APT commands, how stuff gets installed, updated, dealing with dependencies, running Office apps on Linux, etc and I made it. Man, what a decision I made back then, and I'm very proud of it.

Can you try to use in Windows 7
Windows Vista is so beautiful!
7:14 Doesn't DreamScene pause the video automatically when a window is maximized?
Yep. It doesn't run at all times. Definitely disables in fullscreen programs.
Also paused itself when DirectX game was launched
@@britishagent it's annoying when you use a fully transparent theme, how can I disable this
@@AI_KyunNotAnEgg You want to run games at half fps to make ur desktop look cool?
@@prateekpanwar646 dreamscane doesn't even use 0.1 of my cpu lmao
15:15 I actually have the same issue with Vista on VMWare 15 too... and 2000 and XP.
Man I have the same problem since vmware 9
5/21/2020
VMware 12 Pro for me.. it’s so annoying when I finish a Windows XP installation after a clear great sounding OOBE and then the garbly Windows XP startup sound comes up... ugh
Edit 5/21/2020: Only happens if I have sound turned on on my system
A fix for 2000 and XP is to keep Windows Media Player open and minimized to it's now playing view. Currently unknown how to fix Vista's.
Watching this on a former Vista machine.
Video suggestion: ever heard of the Media Center Remote?
Play videos as your desktop background...? _laughs in LG enV3_
You have no power here... >:)
I am the FIRST comment on this video. I am 4 PARARREL UNIVERSES AHEAD OF YOU!
I'm not sure if you mentioned this but Dreamscenes are also available for Windows 7 users, it's actually hidden in the OS
Do tell.
@@uK8cvPAq You need to get a DreamScene enabler program and then you can set DreamScenes as a wallpaper
am i the only person that didnt know that the windows vista wallpaper was animated?
Dreamscene looks cool, but, at the same time, sounds like such a waste of resources.
dreamscene can be restored to windows 7 if you guys have a w7 machine
I actually have this installed on my older gaming desktop PC with the Intel core 2 quad Q9550 with 4 gb ram and gtx 570 gpu. I have that installed on a hard drive while I have Windows 10 installed on the ssd in the same PC. Me, I like the elegant look of Windows Vista and 7.
Microsoft Tinker
Nintendo Chibi-Robo
I genuinely thought that I was they only one with the tech hobby. When I found you, I subscribed to you. Keep up the good work
Extraño mucho Windows Vista y Por Culpa del driver de Intel no puedo instalarlo
I spent hours on Microsoft Tinker Game.
what about messenger plus ? will it work today?
Oh how happy I would be if MS just added Aero as a feature back to Windows, even if you had to pay more for it.
Can you look at PowerToys for Windows 10?
DreamScene was the only cool thing I remember from the Ultimate extras.. but hardly worth the price
It is not as though Windows Vista Ultimate was as expensive as it was because of Windows Ultimate Extras.
Bit locker was there in Vista Enterprise
Can be also working on Windows Vista Home Premium?
uhhh no
I loved Vista, basically because I started to use it when SP3 was launched and I had the media centre edition
0:16 Yay I was featured in the comments section
First comment Love The Video!
Thanks!
I managed to install Windows Vista on kaby lake cpu. but finding drivers is very hard even with snappy driver installer or Driverpacks. Gpu's are Intel HD 620 and Nvidia GeForce 940MX
Vista was a version for future. Or it was for another dimension which just accidently interfered with our dimension. I had used vista, the only one issue I had faced was nothing!
I haven't heard of or used Dreamscene in a loooong time.
Windows vista is so overlooked..
It is my favorite.
Thinker is nostalgic i remember was 2010 or something and i was playing this game and now i still using windows vista ultimate and playing ir again and the soundtrack of this game is amazing in my opinion is the best thing in Windows Ultimate Extras
Windows Update never worked for me. It lands me in error code 80244019.
Try using legacy update
@@Windows_NT_Dude by the time you replied to my comment, I already knew about Legacy Update.
@@resolvanlemmy it's just a suggestion, I don't pay attention to when comments were made
@@Windows_NT_Dude oh well.
Michael I saw that you were using Windows Vista SP 2 Build 6002... But the latest was 6003. I hope you could obtain that Build because I was trying to get that release as the final update for Windows Vista.
DreamScene on Windows 10.
"I see this is an absolute win!"
I've always wanted to know what these extras were.
$160 USD for some garbage that now doesn't even work. FFS
I think I was able to run DreamScene on XP, through Project VAIO (successor to Alky for Applications). Thanks for the trip back, @Michael MJD.
Also ran Tinker on XP, with Project VAIO, but it crashed a lot
I literally forgot about Tinker !
Hey, could you try to do your videos in 4K?
This brings many flashbacks! Oh boy!
Please make videos on Windows 8R, Windows 2007, Windows 2010, and Windows 2000 Personal. All are some mods I recommend.
I still have a PC with Windows Vista Ultimate and this is the only reason it still has Windows Vista. Also, nice video.
Windows Vista is a very beautiful OS. It was just misunderstood by people because it was ahead of its time
