Finger Detangle with me | For Extremely Matted Natural Hair |

- Hey!
I had totally played myself by leaving my hair unattended for months and months (I don't recommend this but I had a good reason, trust me!). This is how I safely and thoroughly finger detangle my long, thin 4c natural hair when it is super matted and seemingly hopeless. I used water, castor oil, a conditioner with slip, and my fingers! It took forever but eventually my hair was thoroughly detangled. It also helped to tackle it a small section at a time. That way, I could manage the whole process and keep sane too...

Wow! I think I'm gonna integrate some of your tips in my detangling session, primarily to stop when I get frustrated and pick it back up later. This method actually calms me down; I can get this done over a multiple days. I like that there's no rush. But, I actually have to do this, so wish me luck!
Since adding vinegar water to all of my products detangling has gotten easier. The difference wasn’t overnight, the longer I stayed with it, the better it got. It has been a year so far. I still use clays to wash my hair with.
Every time I see your hair I’m just in awe
Mbali Chitsika thank you❤️😊
these are my detangling experiences, long process as I'm learning to be patient with it. Thanks for sharing
Job well done my dear. How often do you detangle? I often start well with my detangling but after 20 mins i am yanking out those knots and i hate myself later.
Joana Chavani oooh yanking is not good at all🙆🏾♀️ rather stop and continue later when you’re up to it again. I detangle once every month/2 months...my hair is not usually in the dire state shown in this video so it goes slightly quicker...
Gosh if you think your hair is matted you should watch the genuinely MATTED hair on some of the videos on YT
Thanks for the video❤
How many twists do you have ?
How often do you do it?
Hey, I don’t know how many twists I have in this video. However, currently my hair is in 14 twists. My hair is always in twists as that is part of my current regimen, every four weeks I detangle and wash, etc. It doesn’t take as long to detangle as it did here (thank God!) because I keep my hair moisturised (and twisted!).
Wow I'm encouraged thanks
I’m glad, Otshepheng! ☺️
Your hair is beautiful but detangling requires lots of patience.
Khathu Tshivhenga thank you. And yup lots and lots of patience! Especially when it’s in such a state 🙈
@@mmabathotshivhase1523 how do you stay with it? I used to detangle like this but my hair is now very very thick butt length and its just sooooo time consuming I get frustrated and start ripping to go faster and I’m noticing it’s resulting in more breakage now than I had when my hair was shorter.
@@londonjones7656 I get the same frustration but I make sure to stop as soon as I'm aware of it. I need to be in the right mental state to detangle, otherwise I'll rip it all off. As a result, I detangle over a few days. It requires A LOT of patience.
How long did it take to get to this length?
This is from 2 years ago, so about 8 years
Why you don’t use à steamer or oil or both to detangle your hairs. They look si dry
I used water and a conditioner with slip for each section, so that sorted out the dryness. I could’ve used oil to aid further with slip but I usually use it to seal the moisture in or alone when dry detangling. Might try your suggestion when/if I get a steamer though, thanks😉
Hi beautiful were do you buy the clay from?❤
Hi 😘, the clay from the wash day video I bought from Dischem😉
Thank you my sister God bless you see you on your next video take care 🙂
I’m pretty sure she’s no longer finger detangling.
Hey Jay O, I actually still finger detangle 😀
There is a way better method of detangling the hair and a much faster way too! Also your hair should be moisturized more often so it is not so dry and matted…
I’m open to better, more efficient ways of detangling. If you have a link to a video I can benefit from, do share - hopefully with the same/similar hair type and length. On your second point, agreed!
Go ahead and describe that. A comment like this seems unhelpful and like you don't really know what you're talking about.
Bald bitter and jealous 😂
@@stacieroot1308 I have absolutely no problem describing my method. If you want to know then just ask like the content creator did. There is no need for you to be hateful. I used to spend a who,e bunch of time describing but if people aren’t reading then it is a waste of time.
@@mmabathotshivhase1523 I do apologize that my reply is so late. I’m just now seeing this message. Your reply is kind. Thank you for your kind words. Check out “Naturally Nica” She has a video fir detangling in 30 minutes. It is absolutely amazing!
