He had the aura of a fan who joined his hero’s. 😢 Which meant he came with more love and gratitude for what he had which never sat right with James as I think really he always get like a fan of the band to James. He was always the fan of the band that replaced Cliff.
@JARED BARATTA maybe you’re right about songwriting. But productivity isn’t just about songwriting. Jason’s biggest contribution was live shows. I can’t really say much about cliff, as there isn’t a lot of video out there of him live, but Jason was a better live presence than Rob is. More energy, better backup vocals and harmonies.
@JARED BARATTA Only because Lars and James always rejected/never listened to any of his ideas or riffs. His main contributions were live backing vocals, stage presence and an amazing connection with fans. All of which are amazing things. His live presence is still missed to this day, even 20 + years on. The fact that they didn't use any of his work was a huge factor in his leaving the band.
@JARED BARATTA One Word: Blackened Jason was a beast, Metallica just keep it locked in his prime, Jason was a master who lost his time with three assholes who never care for him
@@Parka_Niel those three assholes changed his life forever. Making him the bassist for the best metal band in history, traveling the world, living life as a rockstar and becoming a millionaire several times over. A little gratitude is warranted.
My brother actually got Jam with Jason in Michigan at Jason's parents house after he quite Metallica. It kind of a crazy story but true. They jammed with a couple other guys in my brothers band for a few hours, recorded some stuff and that was thay. Just a fun jam night. My brother said Jason. Cool as hell and a really nice guy.
Through the years, I only wished to Metallica is that Jason's voice must be hearble on the songs. Especially Load and ReLoad and Garage Inc albums songs had Jason's voice. But still insufficient... James' voice is more dominant
Yes, awesome like the sweet timbre' of the Green Horned Lark mating siren when she senses her suitable mate is approaching and she is ready to receive his advance to procreate... or it also kind of sounds like Yellow Machine Gun.
*Fun Fact:* Jason wasn't actually singing the lyrics, he was responding to the tin can drums. Days later, Lars would tell him that's the sound for the entire next album.
Was this for Re-Revisited? Cause it looks like his hair is short & not just in a pony tail. Like they recorded new vocals for the song Lucas Special Edition style.
Imagine being a complete musician and being supervised by a low tier half assing drummer that is just waiting for the oportunity to take the bass out of the recording...
Yeah even on the documentaries you can see Lars and even James trying to micromanage what he plays and take out bass parts ect. He never really got treated that great even though he was very capable musically.
To be fair with Lars, he is a great song arranger and writer (we got the One mg riff because of him). To be fair to Jason, Lars is an egotistical asshole.
Agreed man. His bass playing on the first Flotsam and Jetsam album is tight as hell and the isolated Justice bass tracks are solid too. He was definitely held back creatively by James and Lars.
Not sure why people seem to think Newsted has a great singing voice. He doesn't. He screams most of the time. Played his heart out in Metallica, but he's not an amazing vocalist.
The video is about Jason singing for 12 seconds and all people can talk about in the comments is Lars. Man he lives rent free in your obsessed haters heads. Hilarious.
Jason had the voice, charisma, stage presence and was well spoken from the heart in interviews. He had the aura of a founding member.

He kinda was a founding member. I put him as one of the founders pre-1990
@@AceCrickey they were 3 albums deep when he joined…hardly a founding member 🤷♂️
@@AceCrickey wtf?
that's why metallica got rid of him. Just like Mustaine, has so much personality

imagine how much passion he had when playing "AJFA" bass in studio and Lars just muted him!
still the best album just listen to remixes with bass
Man, Jason epitomized metal. I was so shocked and upset when he left.
Heart of Metallica from start to finish, Jason was the perfect piece.
Lol start to finish????
Cliff was heart and soul not Newsted
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 lol his start to his finish. Still would be if he hadn't left.
Can't hear the bass on this either...
I can 🧐
LAAAARRRRRRRS!!!!!!!!!

Is it because they asked the bassist of Megadeth to fill in?
Then go get your hearing checked...
I miss his energy he brought on stage.

jason was such a good vocal compliment to the band and hetfield.
My favorite bass player in Metallica
Cliff Burton would be that guy......
@@chrisneal98 he was cool, and his death is tragedy for band and fans, but for me James Newstead was favorite buss player

Expected them to take all the bass out of his voice, lars must never been present for this recording lmao

Literally shows Lars in the beginning as they close up on the recording. I know you’re just joking, but this makes no sense

Jason fucking rocked Metallica. Backbone for sure.
“First one.”
Now that’s some talent.
Jason, the soul of Metallica..
lmao
Probably he couldn't have change the outcome of the last 3 albums but imho they are not as good as they were
The Man!
Freddy Mercury would be jealous
why?
No lol, As good as jason is, Freddie Mercury is still the best
Bruh xD
Hahahahahaha Yeah, Dude. I mean, Freddie is like “Darling, you’ve just upstaged the grand majestie’s vocalities.”
Amazing amazing omg amazing, yeah the 3 seconds are just the best of all time!!!!!
The Heaviest member of Metallica
So only me and John are the normal commenter here?
Yeah, apparently!

Pre St Anger snare drums
Jason the best

Snare from St Anger? nice
Jason WAS Metallica.

listen to the snare
That snare sounds like a trashcan. Maybe that's why Jason left, he knew the trashcan was coming
I thought he was going to be full berserk in the vocals
Roberto grujillo is the man the boss metallica
Sounds more Danzig than Hetfield
I think L & J kinda sorta know they fk'd up & wasnt fair to him.
