I play guitar and sing and have the same problem. I’ve tried tracking holding a guitar, but even that didn’t work because I’d hit the strings habitually and it was audible in the mic. It’s inspiring to see someone as awesome as James have the same problem.

It's because they knew he had the best backing vocals of any Metallica member, past or present, so more of it wouldn't hurt the song
