St. Anger gets too much hate for sure. It’s always about the snare and the “crappy” writing. For one, the snare may sound like a trash can lid but I’ve heard snares on songs by other artists that sound pretty damn similar. And Lars already decided he wanted that sound 20 years ago so deal with it. As for the writing, it is a little simpler than Metallica work before it, but I think it’s still very good. I do like it when it gets kind of silly, like on My World, just dumb fun. Sorry for the rant, I defend St. Anger a lot.
