I over moisturized my hair. I used nothing but heavy curl Smith products for over three months on my fine 2c/3a hair and lost my curls. I’ve been scouring for ways to add more protein. So, I’ll definitely have to try this! But to clarify this isn’t talking down on curl Smith, they’re definitely my favorite hair product line. I would love if they had a protein line.
Luisa Louis I started using different hair washing products with protein. I still use the stylers because I love them and I have them but switching out shampoos really helped
I would kill for your hair!! I’ve started accepting my waves(theyre 2a-2b). My hair is very fine and I’ve found that your techniques work best for me! Btw, youre absolutely beautiful!! Looking forward to more of your videos 💜
This is my 2nd time using this protein mask (I used last month too) on my 2c fine wavy hair and it's really effective! Some says that home made masks don't have any benefits to hair but I immediately feel the difference. ^^
I have used this mask twice and both the times my hair were revived. It defined my curls, made them shiny and also decreased my hair fall both the times. Just simple ingredients but works like a magic
i have 3b-3c hair and it's damaged from bleaching (at home by a friend, all the salons i've gone too are very good and not damaging my curls) and colouring and straightening and now my ends are straight so i'm going to try this and i'll be back to lyk how it went
I have wavy hair and it's usually bouncy and nice but for the last week it's been quite flat and dull. I tried braiding it and even curling it with heat but it just doesn't hold it. It's quite soft and smooth and I think I need a protein treatment so I will be doing this. I will post the results after. :)
So do I have to wash my hair (with shampoo) BEFORE or can I put that treatment on day 3 hair, wait 25 minutes, rinse it with water AND then wash my hair (actually only my scalp) with a mild shampoo and condiotion it?
Thank you Luisa ! Yes I see you have a lot of définition and more curls after this treatment 😍 I am starting to use the aveda invati line and the daily damage remedy from aveda too and I can see a lot more curls and definition with that 😊
Great video, but i think u must rinse the rice water, and the rockin ringlets is not a leave in conditioner, it’s a curl definer with flaxseeds, i have it but i do allergic reaction to flaxseeds and also drying my hair❤️
Hello Sosso Melkonian. Thanks for your comment. The rice water I used was not fermented but broiled, therefore it doesn’t have the same strong properties as a fermented rice water and certainly not the smell 😆. It’s a lot lighter but packed with amino acid witch is what I was looking for. You are right, you should rinse rice water, but it’s ok not to once in a while. In this case, I needed the extra TLC 😊 I didn’t know that Rocking Ringlets is not a leave in 😅 I’ve been using it as a leave in since day one and its been giving me just enough hydration. So sorry to hear that you are allergic to Flaxseed. Flaxseed gel is one of my favorite gel to use. 💕
If you eat white rice, it should be washed (rinsed) before cooking. I usually wash it about 3-4 times. It’s the milky looking water that is poured out of the bowl. Some say to discard the first rinse and use the 2nd or 3rd rinse. It can also be fermented by leaving the water overnight unrefrigerated. Works wonders!
Wowww😯..My Queen 👑of Queens Luisa I know many video has pass and still your expressive smile screams my attention and on that alone I acclaim you ....besides that amazing & insightful video...🌹!!!
I might be wrong, but perhaps you need more moisture treatment. It seems your symptoms point more to protein overload eg dry, brittle hair. Have you seen Manesbymell's new video uploaded today re: moisture vs protein? ♥
hello, I do my rice protein tratament, three times in a mounth. I am low porosity, in transition (4 mounths curly girl method). I wash my hair, then, I put my hair in the bowl, and let it for 15 minutes, then rinse and put a hidratation mask for 15 minutes. I like it, my hair is curlier. But, when you do a protein tratament, you have to always hidrate your curls. I like your videos, keep going!!
Hey azkena ed, Iam suffering from wet frizz and my hair is also a lower porosity . Can I also do the same treatment rice water one and a conditioner after that? Please tell me🤔
I ve never done rice water I guess I should add it to my homemade conditioners ... I'm currently doing youghurt, egg, honey and bierre.. Has no slip after but feels super strong.. 💪😘
@@LuisaLouis beer apparently stimulates the blood circulation and promotes hair growth, it has also vit b and protein from the malt and the hops which are the main ingredients in beer 🍻 which repairs damaged hair... 😍😁 And also leaves great shine.. 💋
I've always wanted to try this! I'll have to now...your hair is so pretty! Don't know if you remember our past conversations about hair products (bounce curl jessicurl devacurl) but thought I'd let you know I'm now trying non curly hair targeted products that are still silicon and sulfate free and so far am having good success! I'll have to report back to you! Thought you'd be interested since we see to have very similar hair...of course that's hard to tell without actually touching your hair lol. It seemed for me like my curls tend to string out easily and try to get a little brittle like you were saying at the beginning of your video....I've noticed an improvement with changing from "curly" focused products! And my curls have been popping!! 😘
Luisa Louis I follow curl ninja as well and she's been using ag natural line for a little while. I got ahold of a sample pack and bought their foam and hairspray too.....it's expensive...my oh my! But so far liking it. I especially like the foam and leave in spray! My hair feels more "balanced" when I use the shampoo and conditioner, not too soft but not dry. I want to try a few others too if I can get some samples before I decide what I like. I'm thinking about biolage raw line and have my eye on bain de terre, and rusk puremix. There's so many to choose from it's difficult! They are all salon professional lines but not curly hair focused.
My hair is really fine, around 2A or 2b, and I’m so glad I found your channel!! Thank you for sharing!

Sorry to hear that DorcusT . Have you try to use a different line of products. Or maybe alternate between CurlSmith and something else?
Luisa Louis I started using different hair washing products with protein. I still use the stylers because I love them and I have them but switching out shampoos really helped
curl smith has a pre poo with fermented rice protein (similar to rice water rinse). You can try that before shampooing your hair.
They have a protein line now!

Did you only use one tbsp of honey or do you put more?
My curls have been dead bc of bleach, haircolors and heat im trying this rn and maybe i’ll get my old healty hair back and curls or atleast waves
So how it went?
I hope i woks for you Yasmin. Keep us posted!!
How did it go? Update?

I have an exact hair like yours. and that's how my hair looks like too after I tried using this DIY treatment

Luisa Louis ❤️❤️
Does flax seeds gel and egg work as protein treatment?
Do you have to use vanilla yogurt, or can it also be strawberry
do i have to shampoo and condition my hair before putting the mask on?
You are insanely pretty!
When rinsing out the mask with warm water it doesn’t leave any cooked egg white in the hair right? Little bit paranoid 😅
Not at all ☺️
Can you take out the rice water? Or is it mandatory??
You can 🙂
Just letting you know- you’re wearing the turbie towel backwards... maybe that’s why it’s uncomfortable.
Haha! Yes maybe 😆But it really gave me a headache too.
Girl are you Moroccan ,half Moroccan , north African ? For some reason I can feel that vibe.
Maybe a little. My Dad was born in Morocco but his family is from Spain.
Can you explain how to make the rice water?

This works so amazing right after; but the next washin day, I'm back to usual...

Is the rice water fermented or ??
Tried and worked thank you. My frizzy hair turned to long wavy hair.
Wonderful!
Is it necessary to put rice water ?
No
This may be a strange question, will the heat be enough to cook the egg?
Girl.. no

Since you don't use shampoo after the protein treatment, doesn't your hair smell of egg?
Thats my question
What’s the longest I can keep a Protien mask?
I am not sure, but I wouldn't keep the mask on for more than an hour or so. your hair needs to breath.🙂
