I came across an online site before but lost it. Is there a website you know about that will take a printer scan or photo of a material swatch, and generate the proper files needed for a custom keyshot material? One definitely exists and if I can find it again, I will reply here.
Hmm, not sure. You can make your own textures using a program like crazybump or pixplant. They just require images like you suggested. Xrite scanners can create measured material types which can be read by KeyShot without any need to edit them. Vizoo also makes scanners. Maybe someone owns one of those and offers KeyShot material creation from scans. Not sure. There are options out there though.
Hi, not really. 3D scanning equipment is quite expensive. Anyone who can create 3D scans is likely looking to make some money off of the scanning service. In my experience, 3D material scanning is typically a service offered to those who have budget for it and need highly accurate scans. Lots of automotive industries and companies needing fabric/textile materials are probably the biggest customers here.
Very little experience with them. They should work in pretty much the same way, but with less edit-ability if I'm not wrong. They should be just as accurate though!
Hey Will, I recently started learning MD and Keyshot software! Your videos are super helpful and on point. Great stuff!
Oh, cool. That's a great program. Haven't used it myself, but I know it's cool.
Whoops, 9:34 is a déjà vu from 9:25.
Otherwise, super interesting! Again something new worth to check out.
Looking forward to the upcoming tutorial!
😂 Aye, how did it miss that? Sorry!
@@WillGibbons That's alright! Twice the knowledge! 😄
Thanks Will!
Hey Don! Cheers,

Hi Will, I'm noticing that no other scanned materials have been added...
Do you know other sites by chance?
Thank you!

What are your thoughts and experiences with Axf scanned materials?
Very little experience with them. They should work in pretty much the same way, but with less edit-ability if I'm not wrong. They should be just as accurate though!
@@WillGibbons yeah. De have a machine like that at work :)
@@mangoplukker Then you're lucky! Use it! haha, not every company can afford it, so if you have it, I'd give it a go.
Nice sir 👍
Thanks and welcome
Is it working with Keyshot 9.0 Pro?
Yes, sorry. This is a new feature for KeyShot 9. I'm not sure if it's a pro-only feature.
@@WillGibbons okay nice ! Cool Video btw
how exactly did you do the part in 6.49?
Oh! Sorry about that, the recorder lagged a bit. I just dragged the texture in to the material graph from my hard drive.
@@WillGibbons thankyou !
