    Mr. Gibbons, It had been hard for me to learn how "color to number" works. Now I understand it, watching your video.
    I can't wait for your seamless texture tutorial. 😉
    Thank you so much.

      Awesome, happy to help. It can be difficult to explain for sure. I still haven't come up with a good visual that explains it well. But glad to hear it!

    Great video, This has definitely been my workflow for the past few years especially for high detailed results. Am certain there is a huge crowd out there who will benefit from all the effort you are putting in to share all this great content! Kudos!

      Hey, Roshan! Thanks man :D Good to hear from you. Yeah, it's great to know the 'right' approach and yet sometimes, you just need to know the basics and follow your gut.

    Material Masterclass course.
    I've never purchased a course before but I'd definitely buy that one.
    Materials for me are very confusing.
    Even with this video I'm lost!!!

    Great video. I wonder if it is possible to use RealClothe in order to create a Lamé Fabric, it mean a fabric with chain wire in gold and trame with normal wire?

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  Год назад

      You might be able to. You can control the roughness and index of refraction for warp and weft individually, so I think you could get close. As long as it's woven and not knitted. Realcloth won't do knits.

    Great video! Could you please make a video on how to make seamless texture in photoshop!

    Thank you, Will!. I am mainly using PixPlant and Photoshop to create a seamless texture. Crazybump works better for me but it is no longer updated to work on newer MacOs. How about you?

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for chiming in! Yes, I'm familiar with both those tools. I use a variety of approaches, but typically, I can make it work with Photoshop alone. I think it comes down to how familiar you are with the program. Most people have a pretty basic level of experience with it. I'm only slightly more experienced than basic level, haha

      @@WillGibbons Indeed. I Mostly end up with photoshop for better results and using an online tool for Normal bumps. Thank you Will for a great Video.

    Thanks for the video!
    One thing I've never understood is why does bump height even have a number? Shouldn't Colour to Number solve this? Or does the bump height dictate WHERE the white point is and everything else falls in between? I may have figured this out as I typed this lol

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  2 года назад

      The number is relative to the grayscale values. It's just a built-in feature that existed long before the material graph did.

    Definitely guilty of relying on the bump map too much. Will, have you done any playing with using Stable Diffusion yet to synthesise textures?

    keyshot rendering are needlessly complex. The company need to fix the software

      Which rendering software do you use that you feel is simpler?
