    Hey Will not sure why but there is no option to choose Path for my camera animation... I have every option like DOF, Twist, Zoom, Dolly, but do not have a Path option. Any idea why this might be? Using Keyshot 2023 pro.

      YES! I understand. I just checked. Apparently, Luxion just replaced path animation with keyframe animation. It works the same way pretty much, however, I just tried it and ran into a ton of bugs/crashes. I've reported it to the team and hope they can address them soon. Sorry for the confusion. This just changed in the latest release a month or so ago.

    Oh maaaaaan i am so happy i finally find a tutorial creator with the right amount of momentum and respect to the viewer!
    You keep a consistent, focused and informative narrative - with just the right amount of side tracks of explaining how to do specific settings or QoLs in the program or results. You realise that your audience is intelligent and need no hand holding, you push for quality results and explain reasons and consequences crystal clear. You're a rare gem my man, keep it up! I've been animating fly arounds for large commercial staircase models for the last few years in Keyshot and building the camera paths has been frustrating to say the least. I have tried using the camera path animation previously and had issues with centralising my camera target, and unnatural looking camera motion. I've always ended up using a combination of the single function camera animation tools along with some fancy custom motion easing. Very time consuming, and still a little unnatural looking. It does get me up and around 5 to 18 levels of staircase, but I dread doing them as it tedious and unrewarding visually.
    These two tips are an absolute revelation to me. I will be checking out your paid tutorials, I need the speed of Keyshot to make what I do commercially viable, so learning the tips and tricks to get around the software's inherent limits is very valuable. Thank you!

    • @WillGibbons

      Unfortunately I don’t think so. This would require being able to animate a target change which isn’t possible. You could fake it by animating the location of the target though. Wherever the target goes, the camera points.

    how to set the initial position of Camera -> Path -> Position? As it does Fit To Zoom like starting point which is unable to delete that point.
    For example, I want to start position with Zoom out (object should be far away) and Zoom In progressively.
    I am unable to do that with Camera animation using Path because it FORCES the first position which Keyshot decided, rather than user.

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  5 месяцев назад

      You should be able to edit your camera path animation in the geometry view. Right click on the first control point and choose 'edit' and use the handles to drag it to a new position. Or, create a new camera and place it in the starting position you'd like. Then create a new camera path animation using this camera.

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  3 года назад +1

      Hey there, you don't see the option because, as far as I know it's never been a possibility. I understand this might not solve your issue, but depending on the scenario, you could render out the sequence and play it back at -100% in a video editing software.

      @Rogier7305 3 года назад +1

      @@WillGibbons Hi, thanks for your reply. Found an option that works, but still doesnt do what i wanted. If you set up a path with 3 'points' (1-2-3) then you can copy the first 2 and paste them after the last one, so that you get 1-2-3-2-1. This way the camera moves back over the same path. Only downside is that i want it to stop for like 3 secs at point 3. Maybe something like 1-2-3-3-3-3-3-3-2-1 would do that, havent tried it yet.

I say objetive and I chose the cube. When the animation starts (first frame) there is a small jump from the camera at the beginning (camera 1). After that it’s smooth, but it’s annoying and I can’t fix it. Any thoughts?

    • @WillGibbons
      @WillGibbons  Год назад +1

      Yes. This is because you need to move the timeline to the beginning of the animation. Adjust the camera to the position you wish, then save camera. The reason for the jump is because the camera is snapping back to its last saved position.

      @@azerabdurrahimov9987 This would not be something done in KeyShot. In NLE software like DaVinci Resolve, this is called Aperture Diffraction. I'm sure After Effects has its own version of this. But in short, this is a lens aberration and not a property of diamonds or shiny metals.

    In my animation the model is moving not camera but why

      What do you mean in 'your animation'? Did you use the KSP I provided, or did you create your own animation in KeyShot. Did you animate the model, or the camera?

    Imo it would be a lot easier and much better to do the camera animation inside Blender ( since KS ppl are budget focused ) and import it into KeyShot.
    In Blender or any other 3D Package you could do animation like this ( if not better ) in under 2-3 mins following something like these steps: /watch?v=a7qyW1G350g

      What do you mean 'KeyShot people are budget focused'? I think you've got that backwards. This is a tutorial on how to use KeyShot, not Blender...

      @@WillGibbons Well most ppl use 3ds Max, C4D or whatever for Viz/product ad work together with 3rd party renderers which usually cost quite a lot, so I would not say it's backwards.
      And yes I get this is KeyShot tutorial/channel but my point/suggestion was to maybe sometimes include more efficient or "improved" workflows.
      Just by watching what it takes to do basic cam animation in KS I would never do it inside KS, I think KS is just "middleware" ( like ZBrush or Marmoset Toolbag ) so for best results and speed another package could be used together with KS but that of course could be too complicated for less advanced viewers.

      Blender's sole claim to fame is that it's free. And it's easy to see why. The interface is a nightmare. Even after the recent overhaul it's still terrible. It feels like software cobbled together from many disconnected sources and that's because it is. But it's main problem is that it tries to be a jack of all trades but it's a master of none of them. There's never a shortage of guys like you who cheerlead it "you could to this better in Blender" (so tiresome, by the way) but there's a reason that after all the years it's been around, you'll still find very few people and even less studios using it professionally.

      @@ExacoMvm "Most people use...." LOL Stating your opinions as facts doesn't make them facts.

      @@tgs1766 Well, blender is actually being used more and more by studios as it gets better, yeah it's pretty much master of none except probably modeling, blender is one of the best when it comes to modeling or blocking out concepts, even some Industry people started using blender together with some game studios, not so much in film I guess.
      In terms of KeyShot only very few artists that I know use excluding the "lower level" artists. Let's say if you use Maya, Max or Blender or something else there's literally no reason to also buy KS, because why use KS if you already have lets say V-Ray or Redshift for example which is not only faster but also has way more features and shading capability.

    8:00 is because the devs are sleeping. it SHOULD do something, highlight blue, green, put an outline, flash the screen, give me a warning, do something! you can't expect users to be looking for tutorials and fixes for this. we shouldn't make up excuses for their faults.

    Coming from a 20+ years experience in 3d animation, the fact that you can't adjust the timing of the keys of the camera path is ridiculous

      I can't disagree with you there. Honestly, it makes sense. KeyShot was created as an image-first application and since then it's matured while the animation engine hasn't been fully re-written. Thus, its keyframe implementation was an addition and isn't integrated as completely as it could be.
