In the age of 1 minute video, you've managed to condense such wonderfully useful information in a snappy but sufficiently slow enough pace not to lose people, and yet far exceed the trend. Congratulations and thank you! :)
I was using Keyshot more than 2 years but i ve catched great and useful tricks by this video. Thank you so much Bro. Wish you an amazing year with your community.
Wonderful teaching video, ❣❣❣learned a lot. ❤🔥I am a beginner and a college student majoring in industrial design. I am quite beginner in using keyshot to render, and I would like to ask if it is our use of HDMI lighting. Is it just a relatively fast imaging method? If you really want to achieve very good lighting effects, you still need to use physical lighting. Is that so?
It just depends on your specific needs. HDRIs will render faster in most cases. They're also easy to use since you're mostly just rotating them. Physical lights require you to dial in a bit more control and position them manually. This can be more time consuming and confusing to a beginner. But they'll generally give you more control.
I've thought about it, but honestly, I don't have any experience or professional knowledge of jewelry. Maybe that's not that important, but we'll see. What specifically do you want me to show? It really just comes down to lighting and I have a lot of lighting tutorials here.
Wait. Wait until they go away. Noise is something that happens with physical lights. You can search my channel and you will find a video I did about this topic.
You are a real master on this filed. Congrats!! I can say that I have improved A LOT watching your tutorials; sadly, I have been trying to create a realistic render of a specific product for more than a year now, and it is still not at your level. I think my render may be even a challenge for you. I found the most complicated product to make... :( This is a whitish textured translucent PP with an embossed area (logo) in clear polished finish, plus some whitish solid plastic parts inside and outside; and on top of that, all that need to be created in white background. I'll keep trying and following you to track all the help you are giving to us! Thanks!
Sure, sounds like it could be a challenge, bus should still be possible. If it's not confidential, you can try submitting it using the link in the description of this video: ruclips.net/video/1wa4geLfF18/видео.html&ab_channel=WillGibbons%7C3DRendering and maybe I'll try opening the file and trying to improve upon your rendering.
@@WillGibbons That's awesome, thank you so much for the interest! I just sent the files minutes ago. I am sorry for the delay, but I got covid, and it is taking a lot of energy from me these days.
Thanks for these tricks Will! Although I must ask, what is the current spec of the PC you are using? I am amazed how quickly it renders Realtime Cheers
How do you animate the environmental lighting? I want my object to remain in place, but I want the lights to move around to highlight every corner of the object.
The light that burns twice as bright, burns for half a long. More top draw bits here, the same day as I'm just trying to get shadows on a product. Timing from the gods.
Is there a way in Keyshot to turn off shadow creation by specific light sources. I have 3 area lights in my scene and I want only one light to create shadows when the light from this source hits the object. And I want remaining two lights to only light the scene and not create any shadow (first time keyshot user; coming from Unreal Engine and Vray background). Thank you in advance!
Hi Will, I downloaded this package from the Vault but i can't open it because i need a newer version of Keyshot? I have version 10.2.113. Is there a possibilty you can save this for 'older versions' ?
Hey there, sorry. I only use the latest up-to-date software. I don't have access to older versions and there is no backwards compatibility with KeyShot. Time to upgrade!
I'm guessing this may have something to do with scale. I'm not sure. Can't really help without knowing more about what steps you're following or what you're seeing on-screen.
Tour de force in lighting! Very informative, clear, and engaging.
Thanks!
Love how much care are you giving to these videos. Congrats and thanks for everything.
Thanks! That means a lot!
turning on the notification bell for this channel probably the best decision I've ever made
And that, is one of the best comments I've received! :D

I really appreciate it!

Glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know!
This is a very, very useful and accurate tutorial.
Fantastic!
Thanks a lot, Will. This is almost a masterclass on Keyshot lighting.
Cheers, I'm glad it feels like it!
Wow, I got the tip I needed within the first 50sec, Thanks a million 🙏🙏
Awesome.
Can't believe I missed this, great tutorial on the lights Will!
Thanks!
nice one thank you it helped gaining more knowledge feeling like i make small steps to understanding Keyshot more even if its almost 2am
Glad it helped!
Thank you so so much for this! Amazing video. I appreciate the work you put on this video and still it is very clear and easy to understand.
Excellent! Thanks for the kind words.
great lesson as always, I want to make animation rendering, can you give an animation rendering lesson?
i.e. render settings and outputs
Have you watched this yet? ruclips.net/video/J-HhjOYYt0Y/видео.html&ab_channel=WillGibbons%7C3DRendering
Thank you for these amazing tutorials!
You're welcome! I had fun with this one!
Hi
Thanks for your video🙏🏻
I wanted to know how can we adjust a light to a specific object between other objects?
Right now, there is not a light linking function, meaning, all lights will illuminate all objects. If that's what you mean.
Thanks! Btw, I needed to use ctrl 4 to get the flat surface. Ctrl 5 is a sphere. (Keyshot 6.3)
KeyShot 6.3 is 7 years old! Happy to hear this tutorial was helpful, but I'd say it's time for an upgrade!
Great tutorial as ever Will, thanks for this one! Really helpful practical examples of speeding up workflow with shortcuts and hot keys! Cheers
You're very welcome! I appreciate your comment!
Love these lessons!
Fantastic video! Super clear, concise and very informative, thanks Will! 😄
Glad you enjoyed it!
Simply wonderful, bravo!
Many thanks!
As always. Best Keyshot content
Thanks Roman!

Could you please start a series on Jewelry rendering? I'll be very thankful to you for that.

Nice job Will really well explained your on a roll with these tips & tricks 😉
Glad you think so! Many thanks!
Excellent vid. Learned a couple new tricks, keep it up ! 👍
Great to hear! Thanks
Hi Will, thanks for your great tutorial, I have a question is when I use the physical lighting always produces some white grainy. how to avoid that?
Wait. Wait until they go away. Noise is something that happens with physical lights. You can search my channel and you will find a video I did about this topic.

Hi, I've got an AMD 3970x CPU and an Nvidia RTX 3090 GPU
How do you animate the environmental lighting? I want my object to remain in place, but I want the lights to move around to highlight every corner of the object.
You should be able to use a part animation on the light sources. Try using the animation wizard.
it works, thank you so much
Of course!
The light that burns twice as bright, burns for half a long.
More top draw bits here, the same day as I'm just trying to get shadows on a product. Timing from the gods.
Funny how it works like that! Thanks :)
Can you please tell me where i can have the different light settings such as spot light, etc etc
Should be the light manager. I think the shortcut is Shift+L on your keyboard
thank you~
You’re welcome.
thanks sir
All the best
nice info....
So nice
Great bro
Thank you so much 😀

Short answer... no, not at this time.
@@WillGibbons Thank you so much!

Will Keyshot support ACES color management..?
Not that I'm aware of.
Damn you are amazing!!
😊
what video card do you use for keyshot ?
I have an RTX3090 Ti, but I don't use it a ton for rendering. Mostly rely on CPU rendering.
im lost when you adding light.. i didnt see my light source like what you did.
I'm guessing this may have something to do with scale. I'm not sure. Can't really help without knowing more about what steps you're following or what you're seeing on-screen.
How to become a 3d productdesign?
I studied industrial design in college.
I'm doing the same but not happening and You explain very fast
Sorry. Not sure what the issue is.
要是能加个字幕就更好了
Subtitles are automatically added by RUclips. I have enabled them on my channel and there's nothing I can do about this, sorry.
