The fan is modified, three auxiliary coil connected with stepping resistors. (Not winding used in stepping).
The Electronic regulator, based on TRIAC switching will reduce voltage with less loss. But still, for motor applications it'll consume same power before and after. No energy saving on the load.
I'll try to do short video on that.

Most of the times I will watch your video. You do well.But in this video I wish to tell some facts about electrical.
Thambi nowadays we are using electronic( Triac) regulator for ceiling fans. It will purely control the fan power as per your regulator speed 1,2,3,4,5.. you can validate each setting power will be differ .
Especially the power difference between setting 4 and 5 will be high.
Setting - 4 ( Mostly half of the fan power will take)
Setting - 5 ( Full fan power will take)
Power will not change in older type regulator as per your video.

But using Electronic regulator we can reduce the power consumption. Because it uses capacitor to reguate the volage or current. So there is no power loss accross the regutor compare to electrical regulator.

Yes... In a series circuit the current across each load remains the same.
In this case at high speed no additional load is involved and hence voltage will be 230v but in lesser speed additional load due to variable resister is involved and hence the voltage will be lesser than 230v and hence the speed of fan reduces eventhough the current remains the same.

If u not agree open the bottom and check 3 different colour wire goes from switch (act as a selection switch doesn't contain any resistive element)
