Really proud of you. I'm running like twice a week in my frontyard during this isolation period. It's so boring that I can hardly do it, but better times will come. This video certainly motivated me. Keep up the good work, The Running Channel, and runners across the globe.
I signed up for a “Streak Challenge” through my running club to complete at least 20 mins. of activity (run, bike, walk) for 30 consecutive days. Not quite the Paris marathon I was signed up for but it’s a fun way to focus on staying healthy and to keep moving while we’re “safer at home.”
Haha. If a zoo animal does this, we assume it is suffering from mental issues from too small an enclosure or poor treatment. Maybe not too far from the COVID reality at the time 😆
Anna is totally inspiring me to do more. I think the Race in the Azores was quite powerful, seeing the outpouring of positive and negative emotions. Keep it up Anna you Ledge.
Honestly, this was emotional to watch. I read the title and thought..no way, this must be clickbait. Then I realized she was serious. Are you mad Anna?! Then right before she finished, I thought about all the people out there losing loved ones, who are sick and struggling with the virus battle, the healthcare workers going in every day for hours scared and exhausted and some worried about if they will have PPE that day. Thanks, Anna, you're an inspiration to us all.
I told my friend today, that last week I ran 6 miles in my basement and house, and 4 miles in my backyard on another day. She said, "yeah I don't really count those miles". So, I sent her this video 😁. Well Done to you girl, and much thanks from Pennsylvania 👍
@@Bkrunz awesome job to you 👍. I ran my 1st 10 miles in my backyard last Saturday. Working up to a half marathon. I actually got emotional when I hit 10 😅

I gotta say thank you so much Anna and everyone on the running channel. 2 months ago I considered myself to be a coach potato playing Xbox most of the time and hiding from the outside world due to my mental health which i find very hard at the best of times. I got to the point where weight was gaining fast and not much exercise going on unless you can count walking up and down the stairs or to the fridge and back to balance my very inactive life style. Well I finally looked in the mirror and thought something gotta give weather it my weight or me in general and from that moment i joined the gym which I may add iv not stepped foot in one in 10 years... anyways things where starting to move forward but I’d see a lot of people running in the gym and in the park which I really wanted to start to doing but not really had a clue how and where to do it. That’s where RUclips and you guys come in. Iv bin glued to the channel and taken so much in . Iv gone from running a hard half a mile to running and steady 10k in months.Iv lost nearly 2 stone in weight. I feel like a new man mentally and physically 🙂 . Now I’m thinking big here and really want to run a half marathon so today iv signed up for my first ever one in October. I couldn’t of never done this without the support of family ‘ friends and of corse you guys . Running really changed my life. Not just stuck in it. I’m starting to live it . Thank you 🙂❤️🏃♂️
You are so inspiring! I was on a running slump after having 3 races (including my first half) cancel on the same day, but after seeing your craziness I feel much better. Been running the last two days and feel better for it, so thank you. Luckily, I live way out in the country and have miles of roads/trails to go run on and we have not been limited to our backyards yet. I plan on running my half marathon by myself out on some trails come May. Thanks again from Pennsylvania.
I’m running my marathon on my treadmill in a few weeks, I started a training program and I’m going to finish it! FYI, 22 mile long run was rough! 🤣 I’m currently in taper mode!

I was thinking of doing a Beatles marathon on my treadmill. I was going to do 26.2 miles while listening to all the Beatles albums in sequence. It's ok to skip songs, but if you go over and at the end of 'Let It Be' you have to listen to the Beatles solo albums.
We've just gone back into lockdown and I'd signed up for a virtual 10 that needs to be run this week. I really want to do it because one of the prizes is guaranteed entry to Tokyo Marathon 2023. Hi there! My name is John and I'm from across the pond in the U.S. in Alabama. Your channel's videos have helped inspire me to keep moving forward towards my running goal of completing the 2021 Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World in Florida (5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon over four consecutive days)! You've also inspired me to start my own running focused Instagram account and short-form podcast to tell about my training journey! Keep at it my Running Channel friends!
@@runningchannel I did, and I realised that since you had your own drinks table that means you were the elite runner for your own event! Stopping for tea though, very English. One thing I love about the London Marathon is that it's the only marathon I've done where you can get tea at the start. Which is ideal on a cold day. Never mind all these fancy sports drinks, tea is where it's at!
Anna you are a legend for doing that! I did a fun run in my local playing field near me on a dodgy foot still! However compare to my pain ,the hard work of all the key workers it is nothing of what they are going through . Respect to all the key workers x! Thank you. Xxoox
Well done!!!! Running 42.195km is always a challenge but doing it on a 10m stretch is next level crazy. True runners determination to not let the situation win and to still be able to run a marathon in your backyard. Like all runners world wide my planned racers have been postponed till later this year. Still adhering to social distancing rules in Australia last weekend I ran a 21.1km solo time trial around Princes Park in Melbourne (Carlton) instead of running the Geelong Half Marathon I had been training for. Planning on running Melbourne Marathon later this year (October) so fingers crossed pandemic restrictions will be lifted by then or I too may need to find an alternative way of completing the marathon distance. Well done Anna, your finishes medal for the backyard marathon should take pride of place with your other marathon medals.
Nice work, i decide to run a marathon at the end of this month probably on my birthday which is 29th, no pb no rush, easy long run i hope i will manage 💪

Crazy and courageous. Here in Belgium, we can still go out for walking, jogging and bicycling, keeping a distance of 1,5m. You have strong legs, a strong mind and an amazing heart. Thank you for this.
Total respect! I did a trail half marathon in my back garden, which had a total elevation of 604ft due to steps between the two levels, in just over 4 hours. It's amazing what happens to your time when you can't stride properly!
It's one thing to run marathon on tracks , grounds, road , beach but running in with this small lap is truly remarkable... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Pure mental and physical strength..
In one of my previous comments on a different video, i compared Anna to a Rockstar.... man was i wrong. Rockstars should be compared to Anna, if they are exceptionally good that is.
Well, now I count myself lucky in that my backyard marathon would only be 262 laps (if I were to take it on). It's all relative. Big kudos to you for doing this and not losing your mind! I loved the toilet paper finish line.
Awesome, Anna! I have been running my backyard a bit too but only when I get tired of the same neighborhood route or the treadmill, so just a mile or two. You are an Inspiration. Bless you and stay safe and well!
That was amazing. Well done Anna. Don't know how you coped mentally doing that. The boredom would have been too much for me. It was extremely inspiring what you did. I also enjoyed all the little bits you did before the race like your race bib and most of the the toilet queue. Keep up the great work.
You are such an inspiration over and over again! I thought it couldn't get crazier after the race on the Azores, but here we go! Absolutely amazing Anna!!! Please stay safe, like all the others from the Running Channel! Love your videos!
Anna, I was blessed to come across your video on my RUclips feed. I am a passionate runner from San Antonio, Texas who has added running a marathon in your backyard to my running bucket list! Seriously, wonderful effort by you!
Wow. I actually used to run around my backyard when i started exercising and eating right to return to my long lost fitness. Back then there wasn't any good places to run, I had no running shoes and was too shy to run in public. Just recently I have outgrown my pair of shoes, too tight for me to run in, so i decided to run a tempo around my yard how I did before. One lap ~ 85-95 m ~ . I had a lot of fun with my puppy chasing after me and me having to swerve and jump around her, was fun :)
Anna, well done, you are nuts, I just finished this weekend the Ironman Virtual Racing, 5k run, 90k bike and finally a 21.1k run (bike was on a turbo and the runs on a treadmill indoors) and that was crazy. I can not imagine what you were focusing on, I at least I had a movie and tv to watch to distract me as it was utterly boring. Again, well done you are a crazy women with a goal and now with a shinny new medal.
Started training for my "garden" marathon course in New Zealand, before I saw this. Running round the driveway is a 50 metre loop and the garden is a 100 metre loop so I can mix it up a bit. Quite a few twists and turns so hoping for a sub 5. Good luck with your charity 😀
Respect!!!!! I can't imagine the mental strength to run a marathon in the backyard! I had a couple of half marathons this spring on the plan and the Berlin-Marathon ar the end of September. But I'm still struggling from a broken angle since end of January. And still, your videos keep me motivated to concentrate on the healing and new goals next year. Thanks a lot and stay healthy!!! Best wishes from Germany
Well done Anna -- and supporting cast. A truly Homeric sporting achievement. Your name will go down in history with Eliud Kipchoge! Emil Zatopek! Spiridon Louis! and Pheippides! Well worth a tenner!
Wow! The mental side of this is incredible. There's a 12hr city ultramarathon on tomorrow in a park near me here in Sofia (Bulgaria). It's 650m tarmac loop. I'm still out injured but it's on my to-do list one day. What you went through was pure mental torture 😅
I looooved the signs. Your mum is amazing! (Chafing the dream was my fave.🤣🤣🤣) Thank god we’re able to run outside here in Vienna. I’ve done 200k in March, and I’m planning to do the same in April. The running really helps to give the day some structure and I started to dread rest days. Nevertheless I never could manage to do a backyard marathon. I bow to you Queen Anna, you’re amazing and a great inspiration!❤️
Brilliant effort. Your garden looks about the same size as mine . Mine is all grass with a slight incline so in theory 50% is uphill . Thinking of giving a 5 km run ago to start with. Got to be better than running on a treadmill. Once again we’ll done.
The Running Channel thank you! I did the toilet paper finish too and even made my own bib number. But completely forgot about the medal! How cool 😎 so impressive
Omg I love your mom! My mom says I'm crazy for still running and to stop BC of knee pain...of course I still do it! Fortunately I live in south Texas and have miles of land to run on so seeing you do this makes me think props to those who don't! I am currently training for a virtual half that I should do in mid June!!
Well done!. I definitely could not do that. I think either my head would start spinning from the constant turning around or my ankles would give out...

That was amazing. Well done Anna. Don't know how you coped mentally doing that. The boredom would have been too much for me. It was extremely inspiring what you did. I also enjoyed all the little bits you did before the race like your race bib and most of the the toilet queue. Keep up the great work.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
You are such an inspiration over and over again! I thought it couldn't get crazier after the race on the Azores, but here we go! Absolutely amazing Anna!!! Please stay safe, like all the others from the Running Channel! Love your videos!
Thank you so much! Stay safe too!
Anna, I was blessed to come across your video on my RUclips feed. I am a passionate runner from San Antonio, Texas who has added running a marathon in your backyard to my running bucket list! Seriously, wonderful effort by you!
You are so welcome!
No words . just a big happy smile . Madness 😎
😄
You never cease to amaze me Anna! Kudos from across the pond!
Thanks Chris!
Wow well done! Thank you so much!
What a gal! Well done Anna. Inspiring as ever!
Thank you!!
Started training for my "garden" marathon course in New Zealand, before I saw this. Running round the driveway is a 50 metre loop and the garden is a 100 metre loop so I can mix it up a bit. Quite a few twists and turns so hoping for a sub 5. Good luck with your charity 😀
Good luck!
Kerstin Döllmann thank you! Wishing you a healthy recovery!❤️
Well done Anna -- and supporting cast. A truly Homeric sporting achievement. Your name will go down in history with Eliud Kipchoge! Emil Zatopek! Spiridon Louis! and Pheippides! Well worth a tenner!
Haha! Wow! In great company there 😉 (Anna)
Wow! The mental side of this is incredible. There's a 12hr city ultramarathon on tomorrow in a park near me here in Sofia (Bulgaria). It's 650m tarmac loop. I'm still out injured but it's on my to-do list one day. What you went through was pure mental torture 😅
Great Attitude Anna. Thanks from a runner from Mexico¡
My pleasure!!
Great job! Glad you didn't hit the wall...or the fence.
Anna - Brilliant. I did this on Sunday in my back garden. It was gritty. Thanks for the video. Its great. @t
Well done!!
I did the same in my garden. Only 51 min.
You are such an awesome person Anna. This is way people love you some. ☺️❤️
Thanks Sandro! Happy running!
Excellent fundraiser.
I could not do this for any cause, no matter how worthy. I salute you!
Thanks! It was very tough!
amazing!! what a mental challenge for sure. I lost it when you started using the highlighter!
😂
I looooved the signs. Your mum is amazing! (Chafing the dream was my fave.🤣🤣🤣)
Thank god we’re able to run outside here in Vienna. I’ve done 200k in March, and I’m planning to do the same in April. The running really helps to give the day some structure and I started to dread rest days.
Nevertheless I never could manage to do a backyard marathon. I bow to you Queen Anna, you’re amazing and a great inspiration!❤️
Such a great achievement, good luck for April as well! Thank you so much!
Brilliant effort. Your garden looks about the same size as mine . Mine is all grass with a slight incline so in theory 50% is uphill . Thinking of giving a 5 km run ago to start with. Got to be better than running on a treadmill. Once again we’ll done.
Thanks! And good luck, let us know how you get on!
Omg this puts mine to shame! WELL DONE. True mental game. I did a HALF marathon around my house the other day - 124 laps!
Well done to you too!!
The Running Channel thank you! I did the toilet paper finish too and even made my own bib number. But completely forgot about the medal! How cool 😎 so impressive
Amazing effort, well done! Nothing better than a well marked course :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good luck for your virtual half!! Thank youu!
You are mad, but a mad genius! Well done, Anna!! That took a lot of mental and physical strength!!!
Brigitte Elsayed we’re all mad aren’t we? Thank you!
Well done!. I definitely could not do that. I think either my head would start spinning from the constant turning around or my ankles would give out...
Jeff H thank you!
You do some crazy challenges and still smile - well done !
Thank you for all that you have done, but specially for this race. It was much more than only a run...
Thank you Max! 😊
