Turning a Tomahawk (steak) into a Tomahawk - Reverse Sear vs. Direct Heat

- Nothing compares to the sight of a massive tomahawk steak. I always hear that tomahawks are a waste of money since you are “paying for the bone”. While true to an extent, I think there is more to a steak experience than the eating. On occasion, splurging on a giant tomahawk makes for a memorable steak night, and there’s something about smacking your loved ones with a tomahawk that makes it worth every penny.
Today, I took things even further by converting my KOW Steaks tomahawk into a fully functioning tomahawk hatchet. I hope you enjoy!

lifehack youtubers would say: if the wood of your hammer is broken go and buy a tomahawk steak

Max the Meat Guy and Nick DiGiovanni should do a challenge video.
He's so much better than Nick. Nick is a stereotypical millennial
@@hc8920 their actually pretty even.
@@idostuff8971 no way man, maybe in subscribers but not in quality :-) Max is funny, not crass, and refined.
@@hc8920 nick does more classy dishes, and max does well, meat. Their both funny, trust me Their evenly matched.
Dude. Just found you. Congrats on your life venture. Love what you’re doing. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Watching those steaks cook is so satisfying. Amazing.👍🏼
I’m so hungry now. Those are two of the best looking steaks I’ve ever seen 🤤

Yo max i try to watch all ur videos u goated bruh
You had me at tomahawk And now I'm hooked too your RUclips channel 🤦🏻♂️and super hungry thanks 😂
This was essentially how a lot of early tools were made. You finished your hunt and used the remaining bones to create tools. Sharpened some and used others as the handle. Very cool video.
He grinds his pepper weird 2:06
You aren’t smart
@@QueenAlexia88 I agree
Nah it’s normal
@@yomamastank8959 I don’t go in full circles, I go back and forth
I don't understand how its weird
Aye Bruh can you do something with Yuengling maybe like something fried in beer batter?
The youtube videos are so much better and more chill than the tiktoks
Top 10 anime betrayals: no applewood
Lmao
I prefer the longer videos Max does
Day 26 of asking max to cook a brisket, like this to get him to notice
I like your longer videos
Make the handle with leather cord that would be a nice touch
I don't think Max understands how hungry this makes me
“low and slow” godly line
Netflix: are you still watching?

Max is the man every American wants at there Cookout
Bro I love your content
Thank you max very cool
Great content, really good. Btw (just curious), are you left handed Max? Just like Gordon Ramsay?
6:12 maybe that’s why they call it a tomahawk
this is quality max
I just subscribed to admire you...and meat obviously!
3 inches angus tomahawk here on the Philippines cost 3 days of my work pay. would love to try some of those someday.
I love your cutting boards they are so cool 😎 😍
6:23 A splash of glue, to seal the deal...
That steak looks so good, my mouth is watering
You got the best cutting board game out there
epic vid bro
They both look great
i hope you are being yourself and you are comfortable, my gut is telling me the opposite though. it seems that you’re a little tense and super formal(which i’m not complaining about) and if you want to make it big be comfortable and be yourself, you got a lot of potential.
You could've grinded off part of the bone at the bottom to get a cleaner handle with a more comfortable grip.

"Sorry Parker, just doing my job."
I just got a tomahawk steak last week and it's the first one I will ever cook and eat. I'm using this video to base how I'm going to cook it. I might even make the tomahawk too
Im new and i love these videos 😎👍
I came for max and stayed for max
I'm glad you didn't put the glue in your hair like Tessica Brown.😂
That looks bussin
Those sure look good excpet need to be a bit doner for me.. the tomahawk axe handle was pretty cool, knew it would work for a minute at least. You have over 81 million total views since you started the channel in July 2020, that is pretty good, Congrats! I'm a new sub
I appreciate you Nikki! I love the feedback and thank you!
This dudes cutting boards are beautiful

It shows “Sirloin” on the top and “Top Sirloin” at the bottom...

My mouth is watering.
I prefer a direct heat but it’s all amazing!!! Especially how well you cook, and hey before anyone says im wrong, it’s only preference, I think it’s all amazing when done right! Share the love
I thought he was gonna turn the meat in a tomahawk
Omg I just got rickrolled by a lays chips commercial. I'm just gonna take some time and just think about what just happend
I learned more about cows than in high school culinary classes in one video
I made him happy by liking the video 👍
you forget to mention something very important - resting a steak after it is cooked before cutting into it
I don’t why but it makes sense that max used to play tennis
Max the Viking guy
I love how he said “i’d like to know your preference” as though I can afford this
these are satisfying
This is the best ever!!!
Yo man what state is that I love that snow and trees.
That’s epic and it’s always epic
I love reverse sear steaks especially Tomahawk steaks
when you cut into the reverse sear tomahawk i literally said oh my god out loud💀
Ah yes the floor is made out of floor
All tennis players would know how to grip this thing, lol, so I would know
The tomahawk had scoliosis
Reverse is a superior technique in my opinion. The sooner you eat the char the crispier and tastier it is I feel. A normal sear gives a great sear but by the time you actually cut into it to eat it it loses some of the crisp taste.
I hope when I grow up ok be a best steak cook like you and we would be on first place leaderboards
Thought he was going to turn a steak into a tomahawk
Where did you get those cutting boards
Where did ya get those cutting boards
Me sitting calculting the pros and cons of each cooking method and analysing a literal piece of meat despite never having eaten a steak in my life
I just fell in love with this hot man!!!
Where did you get that cutting board
