This was much better than the guy who just soaked his entire switch in WD-40! Excellent video showing the circuit board and connections. Going to be doing this to my 2016 CRV tonight!
Thanks for making the video! Best one yet for the disassembly and explanation of what and why you are doing it. If you can’t see what’s happening of camera and you can’t figure it out, you shouldn’t be messing with it imo.
Thanks for putting up this video! I was having to press the button about 10 times to start it and near 20 to turn it off. It was easy to clean out and works like new again. Cost me about $10 for the cleaner.
Same problem, watched video and was able to pull, clean the starter contacts, reassemble and reinstall. Cost was just over $5.00!! Thanks for the tip and video presentation.
hey man thank u for taking the time to do this video. I have 2017 with 47k and cross my finger i am not there yet but if i ever have to do it, i know how thanks again.
Thanks Evanphi, It worked for me, I have a 2016 HRV, I didn't have the spray and I clean it with the qtip dry itself. Maybe the problem will be back sooner but, now I have the solution. Thanks again!
So much of what you do is off camera! We see the result of the effort once some is in place but not how it got placed because you work above the level of the camera. Good effort so we get the gist. I wouldn’t be afraid to try this because of your help, but at least two of the disassembly and reassembly operations are not in view of the camera . I’d love to have a good look at the can of “contact cleaner” so I’d know what to buy. Hardware store item or automotive supply place? Thanks for the head start.
Hi Wendy. Automotive section or a dedicated auto parts store should have it. It becomes very clear what needs to be done once you have it in your hand.
@@carolynjordan7729 It helped a little, but no. The starter needed to be replaced. I found a good/cheap option that's been working perfectly. I'll post it here if I can find/remember the site I bought it off.
Works perfect wouldn’t one think Honda should have a recall on these darn things? But they try diagnostics first for 150.00 then wanna charge 500.00 to replace it. Hell no
@@evanphi u know nothing down here is free. May be a bit cheaper for some things but to be honest I rather be living a free adventurous life in Canada and Europe . This damn country has become too political for me.
@@JLBA14 you should check with the dealership. I don't think it was a recall issue (which you can check online) that they HAVE to replace, but just a "we'll replace it if you have issues" thing.
. I drove hondas all my life but the pushstart nightmare has destroyed honda reputation. Honda had a chance to recall and fix these free of charge but they decided to shaft honda owners instead. Goodbye honda hello toyota.

Perfect little video. Easy to do. Took me five minutes. Thank you very much.

Thank you. This was very helpful. Harvey, our HR-V, also thanks you.
Thanks bud, you came through hard with this one. I'll be trying this next weekend I feel ambitious.

No problem. Glad it got you sorted.
Excellent video I just did my wife’s HRV👌🏾…..good looking out bro👍🏾
This worked like a charm! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
No problem! Glad it worked out.
Thanks for going into de small details of these! Save me $$ and missing work for who knows how long!
Thank you!, it worked and the key fob dash light went off!

The dry probably helped wipe away whatever grease or corrosion was there. Glad this helped.
Thank you!!!! Cleared my fault too (Check Keyless Start).
Thanks! I just used 90% isopropyl alcohol and it worked great!
Very helpful. Thanks!
Worked perfect. Ty.😎
Thank You soo much. Greetings from Poland;)
Very useful fixed my car problem

I'm gonna try this in the next few days! I'll report back if it solves the intermittent start problem.
Did it work?

At least in Canada it was a free replacement.

You're welcome!
100% works 😎
Thank you for the video. Does this automatically solve the warning light with a key, or do I need to manually reset the warning light?
Should reset on its own. Check with your dealer as this may be a recall fix.
Thanks.
Hi Evanphi will it works on Honda CRV 2015 as well?
If it looks the same as this when disassembled, it probably will.
🎉🎉🎉 Perfect
Defective push button can cause battery leaking faster?
Doubt it. I had to get mine replaced after 4 years.

Mine was replaced for free.
Toyota is more expensive your choice tho
Argh they made the 2021s a bit different
Absolute bs. Dealerships need to fix this free of charges. Anything less means we boycott honda forever.
If you contact your dealership they likely have it on recall/replacement. I got a letter for mine about a year after making this video.
I need honda to pay me for being stranded twice. Pushstart never works unless i hit it 15 to 20 times. Shame on honda for this. Hope they go bankrupt
just buy a new one.
Handy guys like to try to fix it ourselves first before putting out the money . Some Call it being cheap we say it’s being smart
I just sprayed electrical contact cleaner into the switch without taking it out and so far so good! Thanks for the video.
