Watching 3rd video in a Row. You're doing a great job, keep it up. I also skipped knives but now use them often. I'll wear Feris Armor with the Skol and Hati to Chase and kill Rabbit's. Makes having good food lots easier. They are also good for going against the Devergers if you accidentally hit one. Also the Lighting Polearm (forget the name) you can hit Lox repeatedly and they can't move lol. Goodluck, Great Job!!
I definitely need to check out the fenris gear. When my friend and I played through the game, we only found one frost cave so we didn't get enough materials to make the gear.
For sure, everyone else is ooze bombing rabbits or trying to range them; Skol, Hati, Fenris=Misthare aplenty! I don't even raise chickens for meat much except to get some feathers if needed.
Thanks for the Skol and Hati lore, i like them even more now. They don't have a movement penalty and pared with the Fenris set your are basically untouchable and you do an insane amount of damage especially if you can do the power combos.
Yeah they're a pretty dearly weapon!! Especially paired with the fenris set for sure! I did a bit of a revisit where I made a video with that delicious pairing.
As a knife user since the early release of Valheim, it tend to do that. I hate big weapons due to the sluggishness knives on the other hand lets you be more creative in your playstyle, with the 6x backstab multiplier (used to be 10x D:) and the leap ability, you can really jump someone off with that. Also I really like your videos! The narrative, the clean editing, the showcase, and especially the objective view of the item! I could use your videos when someone ask me what Valheim is all about!
Thanks! Hopefully my most recent upload doesn't change your mind! Still clean, but a bit different. I'm definitely loving knives more and more. Completely underrated, and I can't believe I just shrugged them off at first. But I kinda do that with all games. I'm never much of a "rogue-style" player. I love me a good sword and shield. But I'm trying to change that!
All your videos are great and informative TY. This one almost gives me the desire to come out of ghost mode…yeah, I suck more at this game, than you could even try to. 😤
I recently started using knives in Valheim and am really enjoying it so far! I only have the silver knife at the moment but am excited to upgrade to this once I have the materials! :D
For sure the sneak attack bonus is good enough to take out a seeker soldier in one pop...I know, surprised the heck out of me also; that is a 1500+ hp hit! Knife skills were probably in the 70s if I had to guestimate and the trick is to find one from way up high in a clearing and just drop all the way down on it wearing the feather cape and lunge at the last moment from behind. One is still better off fighting a boss with the silver knife though or rippers because one can't do a lot of damage in a short time without stagger or surprise on a boss and no elemental damage.
As someone who has favored knives the entire play through, you’ve been missing out. From the flint knife to the copper/silver, every upgrade and step is great. You really did overlook them. They feel so good, they’re so fast, and so fun to use, if I didn’t have knives I probably wouldn’t play. I haven’t made a mace since wood in a single play through.
I've been playing knife build recently and I try play to without spoiling what weapons I will get next and what resources, so when I saw that weapon on crafting list I was shocked xD It's so good
I also forgot to say, knives are your light armor travel weapon, for there is no movement penalty. The absolute perfect compliment to sword and shield, for the tough fighting.
It's pretty amazing! But for some reason, I still struggle to get excited about knives in general. They're very effective, but in the back of my mind, I just don't feel like they look as cool as other weapon categories, you know?
These weapons are pretty awesome! If you have enough skill level, you'll be able to attack without losing a ton of stamina. By the way, do you do Health+Health+Stamina?
it looks like he does, he was using bread, seeker meat, and meat platter but from what I've seen in his videos, he doesn't use any foods that require jotun puffs, so he might not have a farm for those so he would probably benefit from making one quite a bit
@@borgl_2 Hahaha! I do have a farm but barely visit it. H+H+S is my standard formula for food since I'm not always good at dodging, and I'm still mentally getting over the "save for a boss fight" mentality with really high quality foods, but I'm slowly transitioning my mind to the "plentiful resources" mentality and allowing myself to use them for things like Seeker Hunting.
@@WafflesGamesProbably It makes a world of a difference! I don't enjoy farming... but those sweet extra boosts allow you to survive and attack without placing yourself in bad situations as much.
As someone who also doesn’t like farming, H+H+S is my go to, though I am looking into a H+S+S setup. If you don’t get hit there’s no reason to have health.
For me its best weapon for fast runs to gather supplies in every biome below Mistlands. Its also best for hunting hares combine with good stamina food (no movement penalty). One hit starred seekers soldiers or loxes with sneak attack is also crazy. However when things go wild I prefer my mistwalker and shield.
the downside of daggers is they use a lot of stamina but you can make a build and playstyle around that, if you like builds with good crowd control you probably wont like the dagger
You definitely slept on knives, they're insane with a shield. Against enemies that don't have super fast attacks, you actually don't have to sit and wait for parries. As long as you are deliberately clicking your mouse to attack instead of spam clicking, you will almost always be able to recover from your swing and parry before their attack lands. Also highest DPS in the game I'm pretty sure
heya waffles, have you ever tried using and upgraded root harnesk paired with your normal carapace armour? It gives you pierce damage resistance, and since both seekers, seeker soldiers, AND ticks, all do pierce damage, it basically cuts the damage in half for the big hits, while almost completely negating the ticks damage the only downside for it is the fire resistance negations making it much weaker against gjalls, but thats why I have it on my character next to the normal chestpiece for those seeker encounters, so I can quickly change the armor piece if I hear a gjall in the distance, or am just exploring other biomes
@@Vordrandir Well yeah, but I've found it just negates the effects so it did normal damage, so it was like I didn't have any buff or debuff, plus ticks are easy enough to deal with if you have an atgeir, sledge, or fire staff with you
this is one of my favorite weapons in the game. I can one hit 1 star trolls in the back and they are dead instantly. Ill mix this with my arbalast. First i shoot them with a bolt to stagger, then i finish with skoll or hati
Great to see the complete turn around of the Rising Sun. To warrior nations that have each others' back now. We need Japan to be strong in the region and we need their help to keep China and Noeth Korea in check.
Everyone hates the mist in mistlands. I hate the fact theres next to 0 flat land making combat in some scenarios impossible, leaving u stunned and with a corpse run buff
Yeah but then you cant see the seekers, or anything at all for that matter lol. I don't mind not getting the jump on a seeker first, I can still deal with them fairly easily with skoll and hati, or any weapon really
@@WafflesGamesProbably works for everything, except mobs that are very resistant to slash and pierce. Other than that, the DPS of this thing is unbeatable.
I really like the editing and commentary was shocked when i saw the subscriber count but if u keep going im sure it will increase😉
I picked up S&H as my melee alternative as a full mage for my group and they saved so many times. I love them.
Abyssal Razor is an OP weapon in the early game - that IS a knife. :) Good for levelling the skill up early.
Agreed, it holds up for most of the game
On Mountain is shit

so... to win with this weapon you need to always parry yes? cause blocking with them will just stun you since low block power?
I love a good reach around
I actually haven’t used these much.. I use a nice early until I can get a sword.
My favorite is the Flesh rippers by far! The kick stagger is great
I still haven’t made the flesh rippers! But I’m working on a video all about the Fenris gear. But I’m making myself find it all legit. It’s rough.
