      Glad you found it helpful. Yeah, so long as the stock you want is the same pin diameter (4.5mm/5.5mm) as the one on your rifle then you're all good to go.

    As others have commented clear and concise instruction with great lighting. Very easy to understand. You need to make more instructional videos!
    I am relatively new to AKs and I have a M92 PAP clone built on a Nodak receiver but it has a side folder. Does that mean it has a side folder trunion in the back and how to tell if its 4.5/5.5mm pin ?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  11 месяцев назад

      The easiest way to tell If you have a side-folding trunnion would probably be to fold the stock and if you don't have a steel tang hanging out when it's folded, that would indicate you have a side-folding trunnion. Otherwise, there are a lot of folding stocks now that adapt to the fixed trunnion, so if part of that trunnion sticks out, then it's usually a good indication it's a fixed vs. folding.
      As for whether it's a 4.5/5.5mm pin, I'd recommend using calipers to measure it. Here's also a link to an image showing the visual differences between some 4.5 and 5.5mm pins, which can help determine which one you have. imgur.com/FlWppX4

    Can you please explain what that BUTTON is on the back end of the solid stock? I keep seeing that thing on these AK stocks and it looks like something that would dig into your shoulder. What is that and why is it there?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  2 года назад +2

      The button on the back of the solid stock is what you press to unlock the stock when its fully folded. On the triangle stocks you can manually pull the locking lever out and move the stock back into place, but since that's impossible on the solid stock that's the solution they came up with. It doesn't dig into the shoulder at all. The button depresses very easily, so when you have it shouldered the button just moves into the stock and out of the way.

    This is the same type of stock I got in mine, it is a PSA GF4 with voodoo furniture but it comes with that awful metal stock, now I did get the zhukov-s stock and seems it is NOT compatible with this rifle; I do not see how to mount it on it and that would suck because I do not like at all that cheap metal stock!

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  10 месяцев назад

      The Zhukov-S is completely incompatible with side-folding receivers. I believe PSA uses a 4.5mm pin, so you'll need to find a 4.5mm side folding stock like the Bulgarian or AKS-74U-compatible stocks.

    Any tips for the case when the pin won't move out even after using a hammer?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  2 года назад +1

      I would try using solvents to try to clear any blockages that might be there and try hammering it out again. Also try hammering it with the stock unlocked at different angles as not every stock, pin, and locking mechanism is perfectly in spec so at some angles it will be looser/tighter than others. As an absolute last resort you can drill the pin out on a drill press though you will need to replace the pin then.

    How hard is it to install the whole folding stock assembly, would it required me to go to a gun smith/ gun store and have them install it? Would I also have to remove the rear trunnion with the rivets?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze  4 года назад +1

      I was considering doing the same thing on my old AK-74. Installing a new folding stock assembly from a regular solid stock is a very involved process that I personally would recommend against doing. It's definitely something you'd want to take to a gunsmith if you do. You would have to remove the old rear trunnion and the receiver would also need a few extra holes drilled into it. One other thing I'd like to point out with installing a folding stock assembly is I don't think you can put the stock locking latch into the receiver, I could be wrong on this point but I never saw it done personally and I know Arsenal's folding stock assembly they sell does not include the locking latch.
      Sorry this was quite a long comment but hopefully that helps.
