I normally would not watch a video on how to lube my guns but since this is coming from Jim Fuller I guess I'm willing to throw out everything I know about guns and wait on this one! ;)
Jim, i wanna thank you for keying me into the white lithium grease stuff for my AK. It has already done wonders for me. Guys and gals you can find the exact brand that Jim is using at Home Depot in their automotive aisle, literally the best stuff
Thank you so much. Just getting to know my Arsenal SLR 107r and this has helped me more than any other site I could find. And the slow motion speed setting didn't hurt either. : )
Not to one up you in any way or to come off as a know it all. Back in the 80s I found that water proof marine wheel barring grease, works grate and stays in place no matter what. It's the grease you use for wheel barring's on a boat trailer or heave equipment like dozers, tractors and excavators. The kind I have is made by Quaker State and is 100% synthetic. Some info on this grease, OBCS (Over based Calcium Sulfonate) Typical weld point of 500 Kg the minimum industry standard is 200 Kg Timken Load 65 lbs Dropping point 570 °F Provides rust and corrosion protection in both fresh water and salt water environments Effective Water Resistance Long Lasting Resist Extreme Pressure Extreme Friction Reducer I hope this helps.
It doesn't hurt to lubricate your AK, it never does. The way we treat our military issued RK's, M/62 and M/95 models, is that we dry them with a piece of cloth *before* we shoot with them. I.e. we shoot them dry. Why? The oil is just to prevent them rusting, lubrication is not an issue. An AK runs with ammo, when an AR runs with oil. The leftover tiny film of oil is well enough to lessen the wear from the metal to metal friction of the moving parts. When the temperature hits below -20C we lubricate them with kerosine which actually prevents the moving parts from freezing up, not to be confused with lubrication really. This is the way we've been treating our AK's for the last 60 years and they are still running just fine. I do concur with the advice from Mr. Fuller: if you have an AK, he's the man and you should listen carefully what ever he's got to say about AK's.
Just picked up my first AK platform, AK-102 and you can seriously tell the difference between the white lithium grease and regular old firearm lubricant. Glad I found this video!
I bought a tube of that white grease the same day I saw this video and it was also the same day I made the switch from gun oil to grease. Greased it how he did it in the video, only thing is I forgot to grease the front flat surfaces of the carrier where it rides the rails. But I did do the rear and everything else. That’s still fine, once you drop it into that open slot of the receiver and run it back and fourth a few times, the rear grease will spread on the rails and the front surfaces will get touched up with grease as well. Just an fyi, if anyone else also forgets to grease a contact point or two, when you cycle it, that grease will spread its way to those contact points. Just use very little, and spread it out.
That's literally how I have been lubricating my AKs, saw a video on Kalashnikov concern RUclips channel when they did ice test and that's literally the only spots they rubbed oil on an AK nowhere else. I have been doing that for 4 years now, funny I use white lithium grease too lol 😂 I get it at my local Menards, or auto parts store lol.
@@fullerphoenix903 That’s great news. I was not sure if you guys had shifted to full production mode yet. I have been trying to get scheduled with you guys for a bit, but I understand you guys are extremely busy.
There was a livestream where Jim Fuller talked about Zastava back when he still owned Rifle Dynamics. He didn't recommend Zastava and if one was sent in he'd require the receiver be changed to even work on a zastava because the heat treatment is questionable.
The Zastava ZPAP-M70's are great. Currently they've been adopted by 21 different nations militaries. The civilian versions that we get in America are made to the exact same specs except they don't have the select fire feature and they did away with the flip up grenade launcher front sight. If they were really that bad then I'm sure Zastava wouldn't be continuously getting military contracts. I got one back in July and I love it.
I want this ak setup not sure where or how to go about buying it, would like a zentico stock instead & maybe a different grip but idk who or where to go to get this information, also I understand it would be expected & I would like a price range if anyone has information that would be awesome thank you.
Depends on the components and how they work. If it's heavy metal like a bcg then it'll probably work. If it's plastic or light aluminum, I'd just put a little Lucas crp.
Isn’t the grease going to produce carcinogenic fumes when the gun gets hot though? I’ve been trying to use less petroleum based products just to reduce exposure over time.
There's no difference in the product, only in the applicator. I'd assume a tube would be more efficient and precise over spray. Other than that I see no difference. Go for it.
Go back in time about a 6 months. Otherwise try ivantactical, Russian thunder, or zenitco direct if you’re willing to possibly have it confiscated. Akstuff and a few other websites sometimes get shipments in but I heard their prices are going to skyrocket due to new sanctions, but I haven’t confirmed that myself.
He said he generally doesn't use it on the bolt stem but I do as well as a light coat on all bolt parts and the lug channel in the bolt carrier. It doesn't have to be lithium grease. It can be nearly any axle/bearing grease, red grease, synthetic Super Lube, etc.
Anyone that just got themselves an AK, listen to this man.
Since you gave good advice. Do you use the grease on any other part of the AK
@@josephmeiguoren2211 No not needed. That's why people like them low low maintenance like a Glock pretty much.
Just got a Romanian Draco pistol, will probably SBR it. First AK as well.
I just got one 👌 I got some ballistol too for it

That was the most simple, bland, minus bells and whistles lubrication video ever.
Much like the AK itself.
Thank U sir, Very Well Done!
I remember watching the old vid, going to Walmart and buying white lith hahaha! Thanks Jim!
I got chills when you worked that bolt, I could feel the butter, I am literally shaking.

I've been using white lithium grease for my rifles. Good stuff.
Effortlessly cool. He’s like the Steve McQueen of AKs.
Bro love this setup literally dime of oil every few thousand rounds 😅 like a Honda

Awesome to see you on here. You're advice on the AK is much appreciated.

The perfect video. info in 2 minutes. Much appreciated
I like to put just a little bit up and down the spring. I know it's not necessary but I think it runs a little smoother.

I would like Mr. Fuller's thoughts on Zatstava m70s. I love mine, but because Zatstava isn't like a normal AKM it's weird/difficult getting parts.

Fuck yeah. Idk what it is but this dudes badass.
Damn aks a legendary weapon nothing can comfare😢
You don't have to touch it again for 2,000 rounds 🙃
Try treating your AR like that 😮
thank you
What about white lithium spray ?
How does the bolt slide so easy. Mine feels like I'm rubbing 2 pieces of sand paper together. I put oil and ran about 90 rounds through it so far
he prolly got like 50,000 rounds on that thing. not kidding.
Lucas grease FTW!
I hope this works on my airsoft guns j literally cannot find a single video on lubing gbb aks😭
Depends on the components and how they work. If it's heavy metal like a bcg then it'll probably work. If it's plastic or light aluminum, I'd just put a little Lucas crp.
Super !!!
The Master!
Can you advise the use of White Lithium Grease on other rifles like AR15s or even Mini30s or Mini14s???
Look up the lubrication points.
crazy how with inflation that tube is now $10 at walmart
Man that is so complicated! 😂
Isn’t the grease going to produce carcinogenic fumes when the gun gets hot though? I’ve been trying to use less petroleum based products just to reduce exposure over time.
Only in CA. But they have Prop 65 to keep them safe.
@islas357 Just wear a respirator anytime you take your AK's to the range.
That projectile is what you need to worry about. Keep that gd finger off the trigger until ready to fire
With all the carcinogenic pollution in our air that would literally be the last of my worries 😂
Yes sir
Wow 😳
Would a mix of Mobil 1 synthetic grease mixed with 10w30 work as an option?
Any kind of oil or grease would work as an option...
I was over seas and had to use my Vaseline it worked
Uncle Jim 🫵🏽
I got black finger tips so my AK can sparkle 😊
Well I guess I’m going to buy me a tube of white lithium grease today
Grease is sticky . Wouldn’t that attract dust and sand?
Yeah grease can hold dirt easier. It will be fine. Notice how little he uses as well.
What about white lithium spray? Or should I just stick with the paste?
Did the man say anything about spray? No he did not. There’s your answer. “There’s always one that doesn’t pay attention class”
There's no difference in the product, only in the applicator. I'd assume a tube would be more efficient and precise over spray. Other than that I see no difference. Go for it.
