I almost started grinding away at the b30's cup for the retainer plate. Then I got lazy and hammered it in with a chopstick haha glad I got lazy, turned out to be the right way.
I have the B-30 on my AK103 clone. It is rather light for its size. Only complaint is that it is sharp so I would recommend adding a handgurard cover to protect your hand. It is a fantastic piece of kit. I waited 3 years to get both the upper and lower handguards as they aren't the easiest thing to get in the US. It easily holds a tactical light and forward grip and is not hot after shooting two full 30 round magazines. Side note: these are a little difficult to install but can be put on with a rubber mallet to tap it into the receiver. Also loctite is your friend.
I've been laughing so much how differend installing parts is. On your AR: Screw the thing and use bolts. On AK in russia: Hammer this hammer that doesnt fit? Hammer it harder. Fits? Double check it with hammer. Seems like engine repairment of Jeremy Clarkson :D
Ok, we will do a video. The most common reason for the lever not to close is that the handguard is not hit in enough. It is needed to be hammered in a bit more.
I just received my B21U and am having the same issue. However I also don’t want to damage the receiver by pounding the hand guard in any more than I have.. it seems to be snagging on just the corners of the receiver. I have a KP9 should I just keep smacking it?

Maybe someone here can answer a question for me. I have a B-30 rail already installed and I definitely got the rail hammered all the way in. I want to install a front sight gas block and I assume to do that the rail will have to be removed so the gas block can be replaced so I have two questions: 1) How difficult will it be to remove the B-30? 2) if I remove the rail will I able to reinstall it snugly?
1) It is not difficult. You open the lever on handguard retainer. And you hammer the handguard out. You may insert some sort of metal rod in an opening closer to the receiver and hammer it. You may place a spacer on the ledge on the end of the handguard and hammer it. 2) Yes, you’ll be able to do that on the same rifle (it may not on different rifle). It took the shape of your rifle, so it is perfect for it. It will be easier to install it the second time as it is already shaped for your receiver.
hopefully you can answer this question: I am having tons of trouble hammering my lower handguard in. The lower handguard retainer is a very tight fit, even without any handguard in - and also, the trunion seems to be interfering with where the handguard goes into the receiver. Is this typical? my ak is a riley defense RAK47. I am debating grinding away a bit of the handguard where its hitting the trunion. As for the lower handguard retainer, it being so tight is making it very difficult to hammer down with the handguard in place. I have seen other videos where it seems to just slip right down with no effort...
When i install the rail, the front sight of my ak 105 pushes against the inside of the handguard making the entire rail unaligned by a few millimeters. Is this normal?
I purchased both the lower and upper hand guards for my Saiga 7.61x39. The lower handguard did not fit into the receiver AT ALL (in your video you chose an AK that shows it fitting perfectly into the receiver). I had to hammer the handguard into the receiver. It did not go in perfectly straight as I found out later. I also had trouble with the handguard retainer clip going in...... overall, the handguards do look great, but I can’t put any optics on them because they are not completely straight. I can zero them and shoot only at a that particular distance. For me they are only good for a flashlight, or a forward handle and obviously more real estate for my hand to work with. Plus they do look great. But.... can’t use optics on this rail system.........
My hand guard seems shifted to the right ever so slightly.. if I look down the irons, the rail on the b31s seems off to the right by 1mm. Could I have damaged the rail or receiver? I really had to hammer the sh*t out of it to get the b30u to fully seat. Especially the hand guard retainer.
1) Length: Sport-4 is longer than combination of B-30 and B-31. 2) Rails: Sport-4 has Basis rails on 3 sides and lowered Picatinny on top. B-30 has full-size Picatinny on 3 sides. And B-31 has full-size Picatinny on top. However, this option allows lowered Picatinny on top as well, is you use B-31N instead of B-31. 3) In case of Sport-4 lowered handguard consists of two pieces: handguard and front additional attachment. B-30 is a one-piece product.
Will these work on a vepr 7.62x39 that's converted to fit AK handguards? It still has the thicker barrel and receiver... But it fits standard handguard/gas tube.
Hello Zenitco. I was wondering, Izhmash Saiga rifles, notably the MK family (i got an MK 103 myself) got a folding stock safety mechanism that prevents the weapon from firing when the stock is folded, apparently it's mandatory in Russia. Does said mechanism prevents the installation of one of your stock ? Thanks.
In Russia it is restricted for civilians to shoot with folded stock. We took that into account while designing our stocks. We have 5 types of adapters for stocks. One of them is for civilian saiga. It has a slot so this mechanism could work. Next video will be about stocks, so we will cover that topic! An adapter is in the kit, while making an order the user specifies which one is needed.

Hi, I have a friend that is convinced a B-30 rail will fit on an AKS-74U, I believe that its not possible. Could someone confirm or deny that a B-30 will/wont fit on an AKS-74U?
I kinda wish they weren't so heavy. A 13 lb ak74. Or vepr. Is just unbearable. Can you guys make poylmer handguards or something lightweight metal more?
Their B-30U and similar handguards are actually really lightweight. Not much heavier than the RS Regulate handguard, which is ridiculously lightweight.
That setup option is not recommended. It is possible, but as far as AK has regular slingmount, B-30U has a groove for it. The power contour is weakened here. It is absolutely ok to use short handguards without upper part. For longer ones we recommend to use them with upper handguards to strengthen this place. So you can use it on its own. But for better reliability use upper part.

Yes and no. All rifles have slightly different sizes. When you install a handguard, you hammer it into the rifle. The handguard takes the shape of this exact rifle. If the mounting place of the new rifle is bigger than on the previous rifle - it will wobble. If it is the same or smaller - it will be ok. The only way to find out is to try.
