What I REALLY like is what that the characters thank the summons when they leave "You really helped", "Take care going home". "Thank you". It's so cute.
Honestly I like just in general when characters show apriciation fore there allies. In Persona 5 the navigator alwaise praised a character when they knocked down an enemy ore dodged an attack. And In Persona Q2 the Characters praise each other in combat ore comment on there level ups which makes it extra frustrating that Persona Q2 has no english dub. And those lines have no sub. Summons have been used in multiple different ways in the series and have a different design depending on what game they are in. They usually kind of look the same but sometimes like in 13 they took a more robotic form and in 15 they was giants. In the remake they basically fight beside you and you can give them command for a certain amount of time before they do an ultimate attack and leave. It’s pretty cool haha
While the 3D is obviously better, personally, I prefer the camera work of the original summons to the stuff from the remake which is too fast and chaotic. You can barely understand some of the action in the Remake's attacks. For example, Leviathan. In the original, the camera is positioned to show the point of view of the monsters and there is no unnecessary movement. So you can see how big the incoming tidal wave is. In the Remake, it's hard to see what is happening. Ifrit has the same problem when he does his final attack. TLDR, I think the camera moves around too much and too fast in the Remake, making the action hard to read compared to the original.
Well said man. True to the original and respect the remake as well. Now THIS, is a comment who understands arts, camera works, and choreography rather than just focusing on graphic details using the present design tech.
Same! It almost looks like it playing on fast forward. Very hard to watch and you miss a lot of the subtle movements from the characters because of it.
I agree! The remake suffers from the same issue that a lot of modern action movies do, in that there's too many cuts and it doesn't flow properly. The original was simpler and graphically crude but the camera angles and framing were perfect, and the cuts from shot to shot felt natural.
It's like Hong Kong action movies from 80's and modern action movies comparison - in new movies (most of them) everything is so flashy, chaotic and shaky so in the end you don't know what's going on. Same for this game, lot of chaos on screen but in the end it doesn't look that great.
KOTR Will have a 3 minute prologue of each Knights Origin followed by a 10 minute montage of each one of them attacking while shouting their attack name Dramatically with an ending cutscene that lasts an extra 2 minutes /s
I do like bahamut look in the remake I just wonder how they will make NEO Bahamut and Bahamut Zero look because we will get them in parts 2 & 3, also it will be interesting Knights of the round in part 3 summon summoning 12 demon knights on the field how that will work.
Maybe each knight will teleport in and out depending on what basic attack, range they're at, special ability, and ultimate they're doing. For example, all or them do the "ultimate" of course but one shoots at medium range, one shoots at long range, one does heavy atta ks, one does light attacks, one does Arial melee, one does aerial long range, one heals, one or two do one special, one or two so another special, a few do a 2 ATB cost move, and so on
Knowing square, it wont end up as a summon, itll be in the game as some story thing, if its even there. Part one had summons not even in the original, they arent sticking to the original 1 to 1.
There will be only Arthur going around smacking everyone with Excalibur on the map.... then the ultimate will start.. he summon his knights for the finishing attack
Yeah, I played the OG back in 2011 and I always thought she looked bland. My brothers played FF8 first so when I saw that games Shiva I was absolutely blown away. I think that's why I say her original design was bland.
I think the point of Shivas design back then was simplicity/efficiency. They only had so much polygons to work with, and I think they made her look great for what they had. I actually think she looked subjectively better in the original myself, as she moved with more deliberate grace. In the remake, the spastic camera work serves to subtract from that grace, though I think the camera work for all the remake summons suffer in the same way. I like to contrast FF7 Remakes Ramuh with FFXV's Ramuh. The same for Leviathan, and I would say Shiva/Ifrit too, but her and Ifrit are kinda cinematically tied in FFXV so it's a bit different. Not sure if either of them had a world summon, but the summons in FF7 Remake just feel like bigger enemies that fight for you, with effects and camera work that makes my eyes hurt, whereas in FFXV they felt like truly spectacular moments that completely changed the pace and feel of gameplay. I hope they go with more of that feel for the next part of FF7 Remake.

Wow, Barrets VA really sells it in this language.
Itching to hit a START button or something whenever the summoning animation starts
Would have been better showing off the original FF7 in its vanilla state for the comparison.
Can’t wait for Hades, phoneix and knight of the round to debut
Somehow, the new ones look less impressive.
I feel the exact same. Don't get me.wrong they're leaps and bounds above the originals but thers something about the original art style and limitations that make the look amazing still.
Only now I understand how ff8 was faithful to it's predecessor's GF/summons.
技術の進化がほんとに凄い、こういうの観てるとこれから先20年後ff含む家庭用ゲームがどんなクオリティーになってるのかほんとに楽しみ( ̄▽ ̄)。
Can someone please tell me what ost or soundtrack was used for this video so i can be able to listen to it please and thank you
imagine summoning the god of fire to deal with a bug 🤣
Nice.
I really wish that Square Enix will remake Final Fantasy 8 and 10 also.
Knight of the Round gonna be the go make coffee and take a shower and come back summon right? XD
The current ones look fantastic, but theres just something about the former ones that get me all tingly inside.
It may have somethimg to do with the sound effects.
Just Ramuh is better than original
Wow I need play this remake
How did he get the renders of old models is what I am wondering🤔
really cool
How do you rip the character models from the PS1 version?
I prefer og cause u can use summons when u want not just against bosses and the ulti animation in the remake are way to fast and short there is no impact behind those moves for example leviathans tidal wave looks so weak and way to fast there is no build up to those moves
I remember when sometime show me knights of the round summon, I said that was cool but how do you turn off the animation so not have to go make sandwich and come back every time you want to do it
Back then the pace of the battle was slow enough for people to want to watch animations... that and we were worried about enemies that would survive attacks like KOTR. Gave us time to strategize
Please do a main party comparison
