Thanks brother. ASUS, a multi-billion $$$ company, should have their support team see this. They could not help me with such an easy issue to fix. What a shame, but thank God for your video. I can now boot Windows 11 off of my M.2 drive as there is "no operating system" on my Samsung SSD storage drive (told them multiple times via phone support). Blessings!

This is my first build and still having struggles with having it read my m.2. My BIOS doesn’t show any storage information (I have two m.2 installed) and I don’t have an option for CPU PCIE configuration mode. Is there anything I have to do first to have the advance setting even listed? Thank you!

@@Brandoe I did! It was actually a very simple fix for me that I didn't think of...My mother board has 4 slots for M.2 and I didn't know there are two types of M.2.; SATA and NVMe-. I had put my SATA m.2 in a slot only made for NVMe. I didn't know there were certain slots allocated for specific types. A quick switch of the slots fixed it for me. I hope this helps!

How did you originally initialized the brand new M.2? I will order the Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS and an m.2 and I won't have windows at all in the machine .

I just got off the phone with Maab at Asus Cust SVC and new case number issued with no help at all.
Win 11 will not install because of secure boot problem. I just bought a 4T M2 card and it shows up in
storage information but no where else cuz its not initialized.
Had to say this before finishing this vid, am just very upset. Bad enough the M2 card was short and I had to rig a screw for hold down.

i have the storage devices shown on the bios but when i go to the advanced on mobo option i do not see the cpu pcie configuration mode i have the intel 13th gen and all firmware and everything is up to date

Do you have your OS setup already? If so, then there is the issue of the computer not recognizing your flash drive. It may be corrupt. Otherwise, I am not sure why you would have your flash drive connected other than your first boot to load your OS.

Hey can you see your 2nd M.2 Nvme in the Advanced Mode's Boot Priority And Boot Override Options without enabling CSM? Plz let me know. If you keep your OS in any Nvme then, I am sure that nvme you can see it in the boot priority and also in boot ovrride. But if you don't keep OS in the 2nd Nvme which normally we use for extra storage, then the 2nd NVME used only for 2nd Extra Storage cannot be seen in the boot priority and boot override without enabling CSM. I also noticed both NVMEs can be seen in EZ Mode and also in "NVME" Options in UEFI without enabling CSM. So, I think the CSM Disabled Asus UEFI did detect it but, for some unknown reasons, it won't show it self in the Advanced Mode's boot priority and boot override like other 2.5 inch sata ssd showing itself in the Advanced Mode's boot priority and boot override without having OS installed or CSM enabling. Another thing about this is, even if the Asus UEFI doesn't show the good nvme which is only used for 2nd storage drive in Advanced Mode's boot priority and boot override, we can install OS in it via Bootable USB drive because it is visible there and if we don't use that for OS loading but for extra storage or a second drive, Windows detects it as an unallocated fresh storage device and after formatting it we can use it as a separate Good storage device but still as I said before, it will not be able to show itself in the UEFI's Advanced Mode's boot priority and boot override without Enabling CSM Or Installing An OS in it. Let know if you are reading this.

@@c3techtips118 Yes I watched the whole video and other one as well. I mean if you don't put OS into M.2 and don't enable CSM then that M.2 only for storage in windows won't show in boot override and boot priority, so you agree with me on that right?
My nvme is showing up in storage information but I can't select it for boot drive and it isn't recognized when I load into windows
Could you give me more information? What mobo do you have as a starting point? I would make sure you read your mobo manual on drive management.
They are all similar, just some Bios are trickier than others.
when you use this option it limits pciex to 8x in pciex slot 1?

happaned today at me after 3 hours of building a mini-itx for my father(lian li dan A4 H20) and after copy the ssd of the old portable to the new SSD nvme (990 pro) after install on the new pc i can only see the name (where you have the usb device) but nothing on the right side 😔

My mother board is TUF GAMING B450M GAMING PLUS and I have Tanscend M.2 Sata III ssd 240gb and and it doesn't showup and i tried to clean a eraser even my M.2 I haven't been using it since i bought it so again i place my M.2 sata ssd to m.2 slot and it doesn't showup i only see in advance mood it show up M.2 N/A

So close, my systems is a bit different and I don’t see that setting. I am seeing that when m.2 is enabled my sata6_G2 will disable due to bandwidth? Any tips?
Using some M.2 ports may disable other features on your motherboard, so I'd recommend reading the manual to confirm if anything turns off when you use the other port, so you can move things around to compensate.

Hey so I got the same motherboard with 10th gen cpu so my first m.2 drive is in slot 1 and my second one is one slot 2 but I’m still having issues the slot 2 is still not connecting

Hey, so two things. Make sure you are using M.2_1 and M.2_2. The second is to use the middle PCIe for your graphics card. If that is not the issue, then I would call ASUS.
Other than making sure the M.2 is fully seated...

I have z590 e gaming wifi and am lost bit here i first used m.2 -2 slot it was working fine but the read for samsung 990 pro was bad only 3600 then i took out and put it in slot 1 which is the top one now not detected by bios or windows what should i do please
Refer to your MOBO manual. You want to have your M.2 in the M.2_1 slot . Also make sure your GPU is not in the same slot. Set your Bios to recognize the M.2_1 slot for memory. If that doesn't work call Asus.

Yes, this is specifically for M.2 drives. I personally do not run Hdd. I can only think the SATA is not properly connected. I would go to Reddit to look at someone similar to your setup.

Bro I don't know what is happening. I installed a new nvme SSD and installed windows on it and now my sata SSD is not detecting anymore(previous windows was installed on this drive) 2 nvme SSDs are installed on my B550 Rog mobo and working. If you can help, I'll be grateful.
I found this on Reddit that may help you with your B550 Mobo. I would have to know more about your issue. This should help.
"Try disconnecting the other drivers and boot only the new drive alone. If you have both, it will likely boot the last known installation."
