  • Asus Prime A320M-k was unable to find NVME M.2 Drive after reset of the bios. Try changing the CPU PCIe Lanes unlocked setting in the bois to Enabled. This may fix your issue. It did mine.

    Solution for not showing Lane unlock Go to
    Create and Format hard disk partitions on windows and select your drive with the right mouse Button and click on New volume Just follow the steps on the screen and your driver will function proprely Sorry for my bad english

      So... If the drive isn't showing up, format it and enable the BIOS setting to display the drive? How do you format it if it's not showing up? I don't follow :/

    I also have an ASUS PRIME A320M-K and can't find your setting in my bios. Which version of bios do you have?
    I can install Windows 10 on the SSD M2 card, but it won't boot.

      Please check through all the comments for addtional info. This was a machine that I repaired and don't have it in my office any more for details. Some below have made some really good suggestions.

      Is your NVME confirmed to be good? Sometimes they need to be formated using another machine to get the bios to recognize it as well.

    This setting is not available in version 1.20.1271 of this board's BIOS!
    After 35 years of working with PCs, you'd think things would be more consistent by now. smh

      I don't have this machine at my shop anymore to guide you. The reason you don't have this setting .. it because you have a later version of the bios. Please see all the comments below. There are some good suggestions from people in your situation! You should try @pbsgph solution: "Solution for not showing Lane unlock Go to

      Yes.. there are bios updates that either remove or put this in place. I am not sure which way it is . Sorry this motherboard was a clients and I don't have it here anymore to check out further... but you may find extra help here: www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1044083/

    Hi... No CPU PCIe Lines Unlocked option visible. BIOS 5606 and I can´t update to 5862, 6024, 6042, 6062, 6064, 6202, 6210 or 6223 (the last one). Processor AMD A8-9600 RADEON R7. Thanks in advance.

      @@Catfish3000 But, allegedly the main board support NVME M.2 straight to the board, have several "new generation" specs and "excellent" performance. I believe that is just an entry level main board with very high level advertising.

    Can someone help me? What M.2 NVME SSD should I get that has a lot of storage for my prime A320m-k, cause I'm having trouble with my hdd drive and I also want to ask if I can get rid of the HDD and only have the SSD if it is possible to do that?

    The option is not there "PCIE LANES UNLOCKED" I'm using same motherboard

      There are bios updates that apparently remove this option. Please look at all the comments.. you might find the answer below... lots of good info. Please comment back if you find the answer so that others can learn. :)

      There seems to be a CSM feature that I turned from legacy to UEFI and that got it to work.

    SOLUTION
    If you don’t have this option from the video, you also can try enabling option called SR-IOV. That worked for me

    i Have bios version 6042 but there is no option of CP lane

      Look through every menu. It might be in another location in the bios. I can't guarantee that it is there... but have a look. If you don't have this option. Then this is probably not your issue. Some mobos need a partition on the the HD for it to be recognized.

Check your specs against the list here: www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-a320m-k/techspec/ Also ... Some times the bios doesn't see it but when you install windows It will.. did you try to see if windows installer sees the drive yet? Keep searching google you will eiether find the solution or you have a bad drive or motherboard.

    Ma'am sorry can i ask abt my pc. So i can run ssd teamgroup ssd with athlon 3000g but in storage information on bios is not recognize my nvme and when i check in boot menu and windows its recognize so i had change my boot priority so its safe ma'am? Cause on asus website amd athlon 3000g only support SATA mode

    Kingston nv1 snvs 1000g dont appear in the bios but I was able to create a partition but the drive just run in 20MBps read and write, Im also in the latest bios. Any input on this is appreciated. Thank you.

      As this was a computer in for repair, I no longer have it to take a look. but Asus offers this help here : www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1044083/ It might fit your issue. Your hard drive might also need to be formated first before the computer can recognize it.

      Hello. As a group it has been discovered that the option in my video is not available after bios updates. You must have a later bios. This was a repair.. and I don't have this machine in my shop anymore. There are some good tips in the comments ... keep reading .. if you find the answer share so that we all know!

      Please read all the comments, lotsof help and notes non bios versions.... I no longer have this unit .. it was a clients.. but after all these comments I will surely remember to note info such is that the next time I encounter such an interesting issue!

      The motherboard will take an - M.2 Socket 3 with M key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices support (SATA & PCIE 3.0 x 4 mode) Here is a list of drives that would work www.mrmemory.co.uk/ssd-upgrades/asus/motherboard/prime-a320m-k#:~:text=Choose%20a%20SSD%20upgrade%20for,2%20NVMe%20SSD - does your drive have one of the type numbers listed above in its info?

      This only applies to a certain version of the bios. More advanced versions don't have this option. Sorry this was a repair job and not my own. There are some good comments below with hints if you look.

      We may have to downgrade our BIOSes in order to gain this functionality - This is completely stupid and entirely disrespectful of Asus to fail to produce adequate documentation on their products, IMHO. Unfortunately, most people think we MUST wander around i the dark making guesses as to what to do... I HATE that. I would much prefer appropriate documentation, but it's gone the way of the dodo.
      This is the main reason I'm dropping tech after 30+ years of tech going pop and, consequently, downhill in quality as selling to the uneducated means you can cut more corners I would LOVE it if everybody was aware of the details of technology and had higher standards with regard to it's uses - We'd be in paradise.
