    • Bosch vs. Miele Dishwa...
Dishwashers have changed more than any other appliance. Years ago, you would typically buy a Bosch for $999 or a Miele dishwasher for over a $1000. With new dishwashers marketed by both brands, this comparison has changed. They now compete from $999 to $1,499.

My previous machine was a Melie, the soap dispenser stopped opening to release the tablet . The cost to fix was around 1/3 the cost of a new machine. I presently have a bosch and it has had no issues except for a rust spot growing under the plastic that covers the faux stainless door material..

I'm usually not the guy to spend enormous amounts of money on home appliances. But when our 5 year old AEG dishwasher stopped working, I noticed that our countertop is a bit higher than usual, thus only oversized/XXL dishwashers will fit under it. The thing is, Bosch/Siemens offer a lot of affordable dw's in "normal size", however their XXL offerings are really expensive. After a thorough comparison between BSH and Miele, I noticed that Miele's XXL offerings are priced virtually identical to their standard sized ones - as opposed to BSH, where some offerings are almost double the price compared to their almost identical non-XXL counterparts. In the end, I settled with a Miele G71xx and I just couldn't be happier. It offers AutoOpen, the ONE good feature on the otherwise really crappy AEG that we would've missed if it wasn't there. The racks are TOP-NOTCH, not even in the same balkpark as AEG. Noise level is great, just a gentle swoosh when you're standing right next to it and almost inaudible in the next room. AutoDos is nice, however a bit too expensive so we'll probably stop using it when the free discs are used up. Last but not least, cleaning results are excellent. I've yet to see one single piece of crockery this mashine CAN'T clean to almost 100% perfection. Even with an unusually high investment, I feel like I really got what I paid for!

I’ve had both for years. Could never get dishes to dry in the Miele, and the super flexible racking never seemed to fit my dishes/glassware well. The Bosch, which i have now, dries perfectly, is quieter, and its racking fits my dishes/glassware well.

No dishwasher will dry a glass that has a dip on the underneath side. None. Now if you mean sides and silverware then yes they should dry good. And I’m tired of hearing about how quiet. Anything 50 and under is fine. I want to hear it a little. And reliability! That’s what I’m after. Dishwashers use to last 25 years. Why not now? Uh huh.

Repeating market data. Is dBa measured on the quietest cycle or on the loudest as Miele does? This is the type of real world data we need to make an informed decision.

I have a Bosch she65p05uc/63 since 2011. Two years ago I had to replace a relay (may be all I needed - was to resolder the old one, but I just swapped a new one in). So like a few bucks repair. And that's it. Overall have been happy with performance. Dries well, minimal streaks. The drying system does not work well on Tupperware. Do not neglect cleaning the drain filter and generally checking the sump area for debris and the dishwasher will last a long time. On average it is used twice daily. Not very particular about rinsing first. After 11 years the tray rack has cracks in plastic coating and corrosion has set it here and there. Probably will just replace the tray.

Our fully integrated Miele dishwasher stopped working and Miele wanted almost 1k to fix it. I expect that the machine
should last a lot longer. The reputation and quality for lasting 20 years is obviously false advertising and a bunch of baloney. You can’t get any deals on new machines and only Miele can fix them at absorbent prices. Very unhappy with their product and support attitude.

Bosch and miele both have this. The diffence is that all Bosch dishwashers and most of the miele dishwashers just use a certain amount of it per cycle. The miele 7000 series have a sensor so they are more carefull with your glass.

For me its all about drying. I rise my dishes, and glasses before I put them in. I just haven't found a dish washer that will dry them out giving it that haze or etched spotty look. I usually only put plates and flatware in the washer. Do glasses and pots by hand. I have a dream, one day I just put all my glasses in the dishwasher, and it not come out looking like a dog slobbered all over them, then it dried.

I will never buy a Bosch dishwasher ever again! I've had basic GE Profile and Kenmore Elite. Bosch has been a quiet disappointment - yes, the only thing good about the dishwasher is it's very quiet. Even with the dry option, your dishes are never dry and you have to prop the door open after the cycle is done, pour out whatever water sits on the bottoms of mugs and let it dry.
Another major stink point is the dishwasher smells! No, it's not the filter - the dishwasher leaves a really strange smell especially when you try to use a dish right after so I rinse first. Someone else on YT had the same issue for years until they found out the smell was caused by the auto sanitize option. So a feature on this machine has to be deselected to avoid the smell. It still smells, but not as strong as when the sanitize option is selected.
    Never again.

Why would you have water in the bottom of a mug in a dishwasher unless you put it the wrong way up in the first place? It should be face down you nong.
