Not only should toilets use less water when people do not go #2 in them but should also flush as quietly as possible so that they don’t wake light sleepers or startle people with sensitive hearing! I think older toilets flush more loudly out of not so advanced technology in them. I must also note that I happen to be a light sleeper with sensitive hearing (and I think those apply to many autistic people)!
