    A correction that I'd like to point out for clarity ( thank for all who have helped me realize this @Grimmwf) :
    21:18 "The Helminth has a Very clear disadvantage, which is the ability to create working intelligent sentient warframes" In order to promote clarity, I should've said "lacking the ability". I don't expect any of you to read my mind, and be able to tell what I meant by that. Thank you to those who pointed it out.
    If there is a mistake other than that or if you disagree with anything else, feel free to share in the comments. I am always open to criticism no matter what because I can make mistakes. I appreciate you all!! Thank you.

      Something that can fix most of the lore problems infested have and not only that it can make them more unique is remove the whole dumb hive mind concept, it has been done many times and I think is just boring, instead what if all infested are independent and are more like animals that communicate telepatically and see each other just as the same species but if they have ambition or are just hungry or angry they would just attack each other and sometimes an infested rises to guide others, others just act like regular animals and form a species that only cares for those that are like them kinda like in deimos or sometimes they unite and create a hive mind, but that's the key A have mind not one that controls them all but several hive minds that compite with each other, this would make them more interesting and would solve the problem with them being so weak since they are not united they keep fighting each other making this crab bucket, and not only that, but it could also be a really good way to introduce infested liches, as infested that want to rise above the others and rule them, you can even add some flood elements to the infested and make them learn from what they consume, maybe they don't learn everything to avoid making them too strong but a little bit and they could also eat each other to try to be stronger.

    You should check out the Simaris codex for the Corrupted Ancient.
    That alone provides the most terrifying ability that the Infested possess.
    If you want a TL;DR it tells the tale of two Twin Archimedians who were born with the ability share telepathy with each other.
    Shit goes down during a mission and one of the sisters is lost. Until that voice comes back. Everywhere. The sister could hear her Sister all around her.
    The infested don't just assimilate and adapt, they copy and save you as if you were a blueprint, capable of producing more of the "sister"
    The Helminth System subsuming Warframes further reinforces the idea that the Infestation can simply clone those it has already claimed. Another Arlo could be possible.

    • @FelbloodStreaming

      They were Lorists, not Archemedians. Archemedians are like scientists or philosophers, but lorists use the Loris device to perform simple void magic and psychic communication. Archemedians are higher rank, and may employ multiple lorists on their staff.
      The infestation's ability to create multiple clones of a consumed Lorist complete with the powers and memories, seems to have been the inspiration for Balas feeding warriors to helmynth to create new warframe types. The ability to sacrifice their greatest warriors, to create an army of duplicates with all their skills.

    21:00 "we don‘t even know if the infestation can adapt to the void yet"
    Actually, that‘s what the helminth is. We learn that from Whispers in the Walls with the 1999 intro and Albrechts notes. We further (from an out of game promo) know that the infestation on Deimos is afraid of the Void or rather of Wally specifically.
    From Albrechts notes we also know that the specialty of the Grey Strain is actually their gargantuan size. You might have noticed that the locations in the open world are parts of the brain, and that Deimos as a whole looks kind of like a skull - the entire planet is turning into an infested head.
    I‘d also like to bring up the Plaguestar event. The Hemozytes are described as being an "Immune response" by the infestation. In other words, Lephantis is a single antibody of some other much larger organism.
    Then there‘s the things the infested say to us; Phorid, Lephantis, the Zealots and the infested salvage mission - the infested actually seem to view themselves as saviours!

Vome also powers up the Necramechs while she’s active, so we technically already have a void magician infested. I think your read on the Helmynth strain overlooks three key details, which indicate that the powers of the resulting warframe don't just come from the infestation.
    First, Balas selected the hosts very carefully, from among the greatest warriors, and archemedians that the Orokin Empire had to offer. Umbra wasn't just chosen as a test subject because Balas wanted to hurt him (that was a bonus), the resulting infested form retains the sword skills of the greatest Dax sword master to ever live. Additionally, Umbra himself retains some measure of his memories and identity, constantly tortured by a looping replay of the memory of Ballas using Umbra's infested body to murder Daniel. This allowed Ballas to clone Umbra's skills, memories and some portion of his rage fueled frenzy, into each new Excalibur warframe produced. Balas seems to have been inspired by the way the Lorists Ontellia and Remballa retained their ability to communicate psychically, even after one of them became infested by the original technosyte strain, so this doesn't appear to be a new power he added to the Helmynth strain, which is mostly notable for not infecting everything it touches.
    Second, Balas and his assistants constructed custom tortures for each of the Prime Warframes, to force the infested flesh to evolve in ways that would complement the memories provided. Balas describes the process of shaping the warframes as twisting them in a vice, so I really don't think that were simulations were adequate to create the degree of change we see in these creatures, especially at the speed that the Council was demanding new warframe models from Balas. One could even speculate that Big Fat Promotions, was all part of the plan of developing the Rhino and Grendel blueprints.
    Thirdly, warframes are not able to fully utilize their most magical abilities without a tenno to supply them with Void energy. Margulus tells the Tenno that a Warframe, "acts as a lens for your affliction, channeling your power." Limbo was a brilliant mathematician and dimensional scientist, but even with his twisted mind, the Warframe needs a tenno partner to do more than dodge in an out of the void. One shudders to think of the consequences, if an unbound strain were to ever infest the Well on Lua.

    • @ParagonGoetia
      @ParagonGoetia 9 месяцев назад +15

      As shown by many means, Umbra and Arthur alike, the infested can use the void, the difference is that the Tenno are loke an infinite battery with bo actual limit.

      The main thing that makes the Warframes have the abilities they do is the interaction between the raw void energy and the frame. In order to get new abilities we change the catalyst not the reactant. The frame being the catalyst and tenno being the reactant. Ergo the helminth causes these reactions with its various forms. I don't refer to the tenno much at all because they are simply a power source and nothing more. Good cite though🙌

      @@PenOfEvilIt's still a noteworthy mention though as it clarifies that much of what makes a warframe is credited to the Tenno, not to the flesh that makes the frame. The Tenno are hardly 'just' a power source. The true power of the warframes was found in the symbiosis between them and the Tenno, as evidenced by the fact that of all the threats the Orokin ever had to face it was them that proved to be fatal. Not the Infested, Sentients, or even just the warframes alone. The pure status that the void gave was much of it, but the ability to then shape those powers and channel them accordingly is not unimportant to the overall story.

    I think the reason not all strains result in the emissary strain is the same reason we have hundreds of flu strains that have slightly different effects. The Technocyte virus isn't a monolith, so each strain finding different ways to thrive results on very different infected forms. Sometimes a virus and an organism make a symbiotic union, like the Helminth does with the tenno, and sometimes a virus just highjacks and overrides behaviors like in some parasitic wasps and flies that use the virus to make their hosts docile or even protective of their brood. The Technocyte virus mutated and found new ways to use its hosts in order to survive

    mutalist strain, alad created this from helminth strain he took from frames he dismantled, this is directly mutated from the helminth strain which is why it can convert advanced tech, as the orokin needed to amalgamate shield generators transference bolts and other tech directly into the flesh so there was no possibility of external interference by the sentients as we see happens to the weave in octavias anthem.
    also not all cephalons are connected into the weave, we directly disconnect nihil from the weave. jordas was disconnected from the weave, as the corpus took him for their own ship, he also self copies. cephalons are directly stored in glass. with those on the weave able to directly connect to each other.

    21:14 error helminth strain hollows out the mind. earlier version of the strain used before transference was merged into the warframe project had self awareness and functional human minds. but after ballas realized he could control the frame well avoiding the madness created by the hive signal there became no reason for them to be self aware, with final helminth strain being for creating a weapon not a soldier. it can be seen when our helminth recreates kullervo his mind is gone even tho he was a frame from before. the only reason umbra doesnt end up hollow is because his transference bolt which is recreated with him contains the memories. which keeps his mind active. the only time we have seen the helminth strain frames beyond our recreation of umbra show any self action is when the stalker is killing the operator.

    Slight disagreement about the so-called superstrain/Helminth.
    As I recall, it's stated by one of the Grineer generals (Vor maybe) that the powers of the Warframes don't originate from the Helminth. To probably slightly incorrectly quote "Your Warframe is like a glass, shaping your furious light".
    Simply put, this line suggests the Tenno produces the raw void magic and channel it into the Warframes as fuel, which in turn shape it into the various powers of murder we all know and love. What makes each frame unique is what systems and augmentations they have to specifically convert the void energy into something more defined like fire or ice or a fat man who eats, rolls around, and squashes people. If that wasn't the case then it would mean the Tenno would just be able to shoot just about anything out of their asses regardless of Frames, and would be virtually gods of the origin system, even more than they already are.
    With that, though, it might be a little retconned with Warframe 1999, as if Arthur and Aoi and the rest Entrati's semi-Warframes aren't Tenno, then how do they get the Void energy for their powers? Might be a bit of a plothole there, unless the Heart of Deimos can pump void wackery across time.

    Actually, the Gray Strain has an Additional advantage to factor in. That being the supersizing that occur in some individuals, like the Carnis enemy(literally a giant centipede), the Jugulus(Giant bobbit worm?), and obviously the Entrati Family.
    However I think the Gray Strain shows an additional weakness you didn't consider. An Internal War. There is at least 2 separate minds warring over Deimos, Fass and Vome. They don't seem to be in agreement with each other. And the Infested 'monsters' seem to be at war with the infested 'animals'. There is a hivemind, but it's completely fractured. There doesn't seem to be a single boss in charge.
    This reminds me of what happened in Star Craft 2, where the Zerg end up in a war during the "Heart of the Swarm", you had to fight to get them in line. It makes me wonder if all the combined traits are even possible, or like with Biology, you can't have it all, and you have to pick and choose your specialization. Even the strains have specific roles, and don't seem to communicate with each other.

    The issue with the Helminth strain is that must commune with the void and will likely achieve the same power every time due to the void's conceptual embodiment. What that would look like would probably be sentient like adaptation and infectious multiplication. Not to mention that the only way the Helminth strain gets void powers is due to the void heart on Deimos. Likely, it won't be able to do anything with void powers because of its unique technicalities.

    Techrot (the Infestation strain introduced by 1999 that we've only seen in dev streams since 1999 isn't out yet) seems to predate the Derelict strain, but it could also be a genetic ancestor to technocyte as a whole assuming it isn't a retcon to the Orokin inventing the Infestation.

  • @lozm4835
    @lozm4835 7 дней назад

    As a note from after 1999 releases, we have an actionable weakness - resource consumption. According to Elanor, the Technocyte needs to actively consume large, if not disproportionate amount of resources to develop powerful fighters such as Legacytes. And they have a limited 'Shelf Life', more limited the stronger they get. In effect, this frames the Technocyte as being functionally forced to, in Magic the Gathering Vernacular, go either wide or tall, but not both, more so even than other factions.

    the emissery strain is the one most similar to what we saw in the cold war dark sector, with the prelades directly being dark sector models of people who have been heavily infested. as well as 3 main characters of dark sector being human presenting infested with abilities beyond a normal infested person similar to arlo, albreacht also states that the infestation has healing properties which arlo uses before his eventually turn. its unclear how long arlo is the one acting, we know he cant talk and that those around him built a religion off of his power. with the eventually infection rate hitting a critical enough point, with the end result creatures being still presenting of fanatical faith to arlo.

    I think this is important insight!!!
    I have a similar set of technologies, called the Balance Fusion Reactors-which generate energy through a similar means. All you have to do is to break down how a creature would make energy, manipulate the raw forces of the universe, things of that nature.
    The Rhizaphage, it was called-a little treat left behind ever since the Novans left the universe. Novans were immune, as was their nature-their physical bodies could be afflicted by it, sure, but they could reform whenever they chose-as easy as washing one's hands. As they were beings of light and energy, and something more-in the end.
    Now, back to my origional point-Ferrite. Iron. Why Iron? Welllllll... because it is the break-even point for atomic numbers. Atoms lighter than Iron can be fused to create energy. Atoms heavier can be split. Ferrite is the **waste** of their reaction. And this reaction, mind you, is an incredibly efficient source of organically- or biomechanically-based cold fusion, present on the smallest to the largest of scales. Capable of converting hydrogen into iron, and gaining approximately 750 Gigajoules from a singular gram worth being converted-hundreds of tons of TNT if not more. And this existing in every cell, instead of mitochondria. Enough a gram could power a human for the rest of thier natural lives and never need to eat again... something of that nature.
    If you can generate energy from your processes, you have a start. Through nanotechnological resturcturing, you can change your material properties to create the components you need... And, if you can fuse atoms such as that, freely-you can also split them. As long as you have matter, of ANY KIND, the technocyte (or in this case, the Rhizaphage) can infect it, and convert it. If it's iron, it can't do a lot with it-but it can still make it armor, projectiles, ready-made defensive technology or hive walls and hive structure.
    If it's anything else, they can fuse it or fission it to generate energy, and stop at whatever convinent atom along the way helps to create their mass.

      @@PenOfEvil and subbed, no idea why i didn´t do it yet, really great structure and footage, just a beauty of a video.
      My personal idea of the infested is that they originated as organism, bound as all life to survive and evolve.
      But due to it´s insane rate of evolution, it got into the religion and philosophy, tracking with the story-lines so far.
      On Eris, the infested were isolated. Getting fed more and more, without any problem. So it´s mind had no purpose for survival, but reaching for more complex things.
      Meanwhile we got the same situation on the derelict, (this one being a bit wonky idk if it´s just not cannon or fused with deimos)
      The Infestation clearly has it´s limits being confronted with the void. Maybe the reason the helminth and warframes were possible is due to the void purging the Hivemind from it´s Physical body, cutting it off. But while being cut off, Lephantis, the helminth, Eris and Arlo´s group, they all lead to the same ideas of them being the solution, a cure.
      If there is only one faction, there can´t be any war. Which is true, for conflict you need individuals, but if you have a hivemind, all problems in the System would be no more.
      As it seems, the infestation is done with material things, they seek community and higher purpose, and with the growing divide, Deimos being the late player here,
      I think we are gonna have the Infested liches be more of an individual being lost then any of the factions Kuva Liches or sisters.

      Ngl The Infested put The Nids and The Flood to shame, in terms what they could be capable of. Sure The Nids can reclaim their numbers easily as they’re lost, adapt to nearly anything in The Grimdark Future, The Flood can infect AIs with The Logic Plague but The Infested can do most of that, if not more. They literally haven’t been stopped until their hosts have been stagnated, even then we’ve only taken out 3 Major infested across the entire system. With their adaptability to Universal Constants and as mentioned, their potential to adapt to The Void, that would mean The Warp wouldn’t be off the table either. Given enough time, they could be the first ever Species in Warhammer (Hypothetically) to take a direct fight into The Warp and against the Chaos Gods themselves.

    Game constraints aside, it makes sense that the Infested have templates of infested bodytypes they can reuse, in the case of the Boiler unit and the Ancient codex.
    I did find it odd that you kept showing the infested corpus ship while talking about the derelicts and isn’t it understood that all biology on Deimos is infested?

    While I think Helminth does have something to do with the powers of the warframes, given the helminth segment in-game can transfer powers between warframes, I think it's largely the void powers of the tenno that can at least *perform* the abilitys.
    My headcanon goes something along the lines of the individual frames being genetically coded with their abilities, and those parts getting replaced by the helminth to give other abilities. Which can then be activated and given power through the void energy channeled by the tenno.

    you missed the nidus strain seen in his quest that allowed for the infection of a child without turning and allowing for interring with the hive signal to avoid the infested attacking their colony.
    you also missed one of the most interesting strains and the only other one that is a product of alads research, the amalgam strain which allows for converting organic matter into sentient matter as is seen with ballas's painful conversion to avoid his death. and the other amalgam units with some just being sentient material directly attached and others being organic amalgamation and conversion.

  • @JerryBlaze7
    @JerryBlaze7 24 дня назад

    Actually I would argue that the emissary strain IS the same as hemalith strain, or rather that both branch from the same predecessor, and the emissary strain is just the natural route of its evolution, where as the hemalith is a genetically modified version that was slightly altered using orokin tech/BALLAS' TINKERING.
    See, the thing here is, essentially Ballas labotimize whatever original strain was, cutting it off from the shared hive mind all infested tend to be genetically linked to. From here he conditions the hemalith to be subservient to the warframes, so that it would willing take up the tasks of life support and mending of the damaged warframes while they remain inactive on an operator's ship.
    Basically the hemalith's connection with the original infested hive mind was cut, and then ballss proceeded to give Stockholm syndrome to the early developed hemalith strains, until it's attachment to the warframes became an instinctual part of all future generations of the hemalith strain used by the orokin for their tenno's warframe repairs.
    A simpler way to look at it is that the emissary strain is what the hemalith strain would have become if left to natural evolution without orokin genetic engineering interfering with the process.
    No doubt Ballas actually sped up some if the virus's evolutionary processes that the original strain both viral strains came from had in common, hence why we warframe and the hemalith's long before the appearance of the emissary stain, and why the emissary strain is the closest strain in existence to produce warframe like beings rather then the usuall monstrosities seen produced by the tennocyte virus and its off-shoot strains.
    And yes I say that the hemalith is cut off from the greater infested hivemind because otherwise it would be killing us instead of healing our warframes and asking us for food. And to put it simply, the hivemind can reach long distances across space, as was not only proven by the coordination of the emissary strain during its events in game, but also in previews for warframe 1999 lich content - where some of the oldest known infested, (which have apparently been around since 1999!) Were blasting their signals across space with such intensity that it actually screws with Cephalon Cy's sensors. Were talking some of the oldest infested, pumping thier hivemind signals out into space using ancient pre-orokin era technology, and it's still going strong enough in our timeline to screw with an orokin era Railjack Cephalon's sensory instruments.
    Even the basic strain of infested we see in game are connected to a hivemind, similar to the jordus golem's set up. Case and point even assuming that each planet's I tested had a hivemind of it's own with a planet wide range for management (similar to those on demios, even though it has two hivemind at constant war with each other, the wyrms each controlling a hivemind of its own) then that means just pulling upto the planet to drop off out of our ship would be Close enough for an Infested hivemind to take control of the hemalith in our ship if it wasn't already genetically lobotomized in the sense that it had that part in the hemalith's strain that's supposed to be able to communicate long distance with the greater infested hivemind(s), cut off.
    Ballas basically domesticated a virus and gave it Stockholm syndrome, lmao.
    Just add another sin to the sin counter over his head I guess. Lmao

    finished the video, yea its most probably the infestation of warframe is sourced from the cold war and the equivalent events as dark sector has sat on a weird position of its cannon its not cannon its cannon since the creation of the game. we can assume the basic outline of dark sector is true and that during the cold war technocyte was researched with some point after those events leading to the out break that effects 1999 and the year around it with 1999 and the turn of the century clearly being important in some way to the timeline leading to the block time as we know it. if you havent played dark sector yet i 100% suggest playing it. its really good even through DE's struggle with publisher demands, darkness 2 is done on the evolution too like dark sector and warframe, and you can see some of the visual inspiration and style of warframe travel into the textures, myself i either would love a deluxe skin for lavos that is based around the darkness and changes his snakes to the two darkness heads.
    i would also like to seem them make more prototype skins similar to nyx nemesis and excalibur style as they are awesome.

      Yes and no operators just supply raw void energy. Without the Warframe it would be like having batteries with nothing to use it. we have to add that the power of warframes are not purely from the infested, all those dimensional reality warping abilities are from the tenno, the warframes are simply a conduit like a faucet for the tenno themselves. and the tenno themselves are partly incorporeal hence why they are not quite succeptible to being infested.
    in a sense if there was something to fear it would be an infested body that is ideal for the man in the wall themselves to somehow. now that would be a threat.

  • @Darlf_Sevil
    @Darlf_Sevil 9 месяцев назад +3

    well infested part of warframe is more like foundation for warframe, it is not responsible for warframe's powers as far as we know. Warframe powers are the power of the void channeled and amplified by technology... what we could call a jumper concentrating it into a specific effect. Yes, warframes were originally not supposed to have an operator and probably the abilities of the prototypes were similar at times but probably not on such a scale, tenno is an infinite source of energy for warframes, we stopped caring about the efficiency of their operation, in gameplay we use energy and even in lore we can get tired from the power void, but this power is still incredibly huge compared to those produced by other machines probably also powered by Argon void

    • @PenOfEvil
      @PenOfEvil  9 месяцев назад +1

      Only problem with that thought process is that the Warframes had the abilities to some capacity. Henceforth meaning that their abilities come from the infestation and are "void attuned" or in better words amplified by the void. Even so their powers are still their own, granted by their affliction.

    The grey strain have infested that fight each other because one is posseed by the void under Vome and the "2nd head of vome" (according to DE asset names) vs Fass the grey strain hive mind. Xaku shows us that the void can be inducted and cause infested to become aggressive in its spread as well as empowered by the void.
    The Helminth was used because it was compatible with the void and has adaptability with a strong hive mind. Hence nidus.
    Every strain learns and believes differently with their own hive mind. So they wouldnt all do the exact same thing past a certain evolution. Just like real parasites, viruses and bacteria. But they do possess a huve mind and they craft their infested based on their own beliefs mereged from the minds of their victims.
    This is why you dont see nothing but ancients but a variety. They are made individually and reforged with biomass. Its quicker to create maggots, it takes more time to create larger infested. The hive mind keeps alll its creations like a codex and recreatees them as needed.
    Infested ships have less available bio mass than diemos, this is why Diemos strain, the grey strain, has much larger variants. But also they have more specimens.
    Arlo's strain from eris fused with other strains from the t4 Orokin derelicts and iperated separately as its own strain but adopted the grey strain. Its the strain from a dark sector time that we are revisting in 1999's update continuity. The Zealoid Prelate was the stinger an old technocyte infestation that tried to become more like a warframe. Hence calling them beautiful. They are the results of utilzing the old ones, T-cyte, strain from The Great Plague.
    Perdisites and Vulpaphyla are infested kuburows and kavats. The saxum afe infesfed nercamechsz vome and fass are infesfed Oro-worms the grey strain has vastly advanced and has the bio mass to expand. But the void keeps most of its hive mind distracted and in a constant fight. It cant make as many advancements due to this power struggle.
