This is the Dad's responsibility. The Dad enabled his irresponsible son allowing him to sink the family business into oblivion. As for the Dad, enabling does not equal love.
I would be grateful every morning I woke up if I was in the position this owner was, the guy is spoiled so much i'm honestly surprised he graduated from collage and didn't just party then dropout
Oh man the son is SO the Golden Child and it's so blatantly obvious that it's painful. I'm glad they were able to get it into his head that he can't run the bar.
I’m wondering if Nick has serious issues like anxiety and depression. If true, though, then his father is still responsible, for trying to push a business on his son when he wasn’t ready for it.
The depression would explain his lack of effort. During the worst of my depression I had no energy to do anything and considering how alcohol is a depressant him being drunk probably renders this guy catatonic.
Neither, he's lazy and entitled, he thinks actually working in the bar is beneath him, as the owner/owner's son he should only be there to have a good time and collect money, doing actual work is beneath him so he drags his ass hoping someone will give up and do it for him.
The son: "To get the air bubbles out." Me, who doesn't even like alcohol: "Dude, it's liquor. It's bubbly by fucking nature! What you're doing isn't gonna help the drink, you're gonna make it flat if you do that!"
I went here once a week (2011-2013), pre-renno/rescue! It was a dump, but you could get a GIANT stein of beer. It’s typical of a Milwaukee dive bar. Velvet posters on the wall, bad service, and you could occasionally smoke inside. That took no advantage of its location. I never went upstairs. Y-NOT II was better, but long live YN3! Thanks for the video, Alan!!
Apparently, this place closed and the building got demolished in 2016 to make room for a sculpture garden. Too bad. I actually think the new concept is unique and interesting.
I used to live in Milwaukee and opening your own beer on the table edge was a thing in some sports bars, but those bars had metal lined counters and tables so it wouldn't damage the wood
That is so true about the customers who say “oh pour a little more, I’ll tip you more” or “make it sTrOnG *winkwink*” or whatever, being the worst tippers! I also agree that my best tippers are regulars who would be horrified if I gave them shit for free! They actually understand the American service industry and know they are basically paying my salary and show they appreciate my service!
Do you think you could do a collab with Bar Bs? They are also two bartenders and are so funny, I think getting the different perspectives would be interesting.
I disagree that the dad can't kick the son out and rent the building to someone else. Even if it's his son, this is business. You can't let family relationships affect your decisions as a business person. Were it my son, he'd have received a pay or quit after the first year. Possibly sooner.
I feel like Nick is doing it on purpose because he never wanted to do the business but either he's a coward who can't tell his dad no or his dad flat out rejects the idea of his son not carrying out his legacy even though the cousin is right there gift wrapped to take over the bar and his daughter is doing well. It's cleary misogyny
Actually, those bars are popular and generally jam packed ... I think Monica opened her own bar also. I am certain that that place closed down after the name change. Good review.
Your funniest reaction yet lol. What the hell was wrong with the bar owner?? 9 years and can't do anything and doesn't care. Pretty pathetic and cruel to his family and coworkers
I feel bad for Nick though. He's clearly trying his best for his family, especially his father but he just doesn't have the skills or talent in the bar business to back it up. I hope Nick is doing okay with another job and something he's really good at.
@@skifusya2814Stop ignoring me if you're going to write a nasty response to my comment. I actually agree with a lot of people here that Nick doesn't belong in the bar business. I'm actually trying to be fair and impartial as opposed to rude and judgemental LIKE YOU.
His father should've taken the Bar away from his son after 6 to 12 months after running his Bar that badly. There's no discipline and his Bar could've been shut down by the NSW RSA Enforcement if the was here in my neck of the woods. I wonder if the Owner really finished College or he dropped out.
I just don't understand how someone doesn't learn anything in 9 fluffing years. Just sitting there you would think he would have gleaned something. Almost a decade and nothing learned that is beyond pathetic. My 13-year-old son is more of a man than this guy, That shouldn't be. If you're not going to parent your kids don't have them. We're getting ever closer to Idiocracy because people don't want to parent but they want to procreate.
Nick has family members who own successful bars!! If he really needed help he could ask several family members for advice!! Also, since his dad is his landlord can get breaks on rent or rent for cheap!! Jon shouldn’t even have to be there because he could have turned to his family to get all the help in the world to make his business successful!! He just needed to put in the effort and ask his family of successful bar owners for help!!! He is the epitome of sloth 🦥!!!
Comment and Like for that ALGORITHM! Once again, thanks for watching my video!
Please watch the episode where Jon Taffer goes back to Second Base. It is the eleventh episode of the fourth season.
I felt sorry for the beautiful women at that bar
"9 years! That's how long it takes to become a doctor and he can't even make a drink" Lol savage

It's truly amazing how much one person can negatively effect a workspace.
"He thought bar ownership was a party" that's literally 90% of the owners on this show.

Lolllll Jon’s face, you can tell he has had enough 😂😂
First rescue I've seen you cover that isn't clipped all over the place on RUclips
"They got a snow cone machine too?!" U sounded like a kid in a rich neighbor's house; so sweet XD
The son: "To get the air bubbles out."
Me, who doesn't even like alcohol: "Dude, it's liquor. It's bubbly by fucking nature! What you're doing isn't gonna help the drink, you're gonna make it flat if you do that!"

“To get the air bubbles out”

Hahahaha the shaking without ice killed me. I trained a guy last year who KEPT doing that and he just wasn’t understanding why that made ZERO SENSE 😂😂
My favorite thing about Bar Rescue is Alans's faces.
This is just what I needed! A new vid by my fave bartender about Bar Rescue, the pipe is loaded so let's go check this out...

Y-Not II has really great reviews. Apparently it’s called Y-Not because it’s the owner Tony’s name backwards
Best notification to pop up as soon as I'm off work!! Thank you for this platinum level content!
it was pretty painful to see this guy not care about owning his own bar 💀💀
maybe even worse that the dad won't do anything
Nick is runnin on dial-up internet XD
I’m coining a new term: spoiled prince/princess syndrome
I tipped a bar tender so well in college he would always help me as soon as he saw me
Good video as always. Can't believe you are two episodes away from Second Base part 2
Alan approving of a family member being a bar employee? Have pigs started flying?
To be fair, Angelica is very competent. There is a reason why she was promoted to manager.
@@chrismathgenius oh I know - its just bizarre because we're used to Alan developing a brain aneurysm every time a family member works behind the bar
@@chrismathgenius EXACTLY

26:50 WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU?????!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just discovered this channel and its goddamned glorious. Keep up the good work my doge.
Welcome aboard! More videos to come!
I think some people don’t need to own a bar if they don’t have passion.
Nick should probably just focus on the financial and legal obligations of the bar and have Angelica run the day to day operations.

Not only did the "new" tavern close, the 125-year old structure is now demolished... =[
Love all your videos, but as an it guy I feel sorry for your keyboard lol
Actually, those bars are popular and generally jam packed ... I think Monica opened her own bar also. I am certain that that place closed down after the name change. Good review.
I really feel like this “bar owner” possibly feels obligated to keep the family business running and doesn’t even want to be in this industry
I think Alan should have merch
ARE YOU SERIOUS? On a shirt lol
I guess the son being rotten is why the title of that episode is "Spoiled Brat Party"
Wait i'm confused, doesn't Jon do a future episode at a different bar called Y Not? is that one run by the same family?
The bar in this episode is Y Not III. The bar you're thinking of is Y Not Sports Pub. They're two different bars.
@@chrismathgenius Ah ok, why do they both have very similar names though?
@@podurt2557 I have no idea. Coincidence, I guess.
@@podurt2557 Guys named Tony think it's cool to name bars after themselves and to be clever they make Ton-y backwards. It's dumb. Really dumb.
I don't know why you're laughing at him struggling to remove his key from the keychain; those rings are hard to open for a key to slide through.
Your funniest reaction yet lol. What the hell was wrong with the bar owner?? 9 years and can't do anything and doesn't care. Pretty pathetic and cruel to his family and coworkers
Hard to believe those customers are grown ass adults
It says the building has been demolished
Whys the ice scoop sitting in the ice regardless? Thats a health code violation
If I was in the position of the owner it wouldn't have gotten that way!! Wish I was that lucky
Bar closed and was demolished.
So sad
25:49 😤 😐🙏 BOI.
The dad just refuses to accept that the son isn't ale/ants to do this - Angleica deserves to be the owner not just GM

Doing his best for his family by owing daddy over half a million and living in mommy's basement?

Okay, I love this guy, but I think we need MikeMGTV’s R-rated take on this.

Tony backwards is not a clever name for anything. Doesn't even sound smooth. It's as dumb as my Spanish restaurant, El Werd-na.

true uselessness: setting up someone in the best way possible for success and them still fucking it up
I don't ever fell any sympathy for people like the father. They know the person is taking advantage of them and refuse to do anything about it.
