I am sure that Allen can attest to this. All bartending school graduates have a box of index cards which have detailed drink recipes. It only take maximum of 2 weeks to graduate. Even if they got all of their drink recipes from the internet, those recipes have measurements for all ingredients. For any of those sisters to say that they have drink recipes without measurements is either pure laziness or a total lie.
"Hire qualified people." That is exactly why I'm doing my research before I open up a cafe/bar of my own and also why I told my fiance who wants to help me out to gain experience somewhere else before I let them help me out.
@@FordPrefict42 Whoa, I didn't know that. Thank you for that bit of info. :) My cafe/bar is going to be a cafe and bar. the bar opens in the evening and at night for the night crowd.
There's different levels of helping, too. Obviously don't follow these bonehead's footsteps and make them some high up position, but if they, say, don't get experience, but want to help, there's still things they can do without experience, especially if you have food. Grabbing dishes, cleaning tables, washing dishes, there's levels to everything, the mistake is putting rookies in positions of power and influence. Best of luck to y'all, and your business! I meant no disrespect btw.
@@sporemaster97 I know. I've learned a lot from Kitchen Nightmares and Bar Rescue. My fiance will definitely start at a low position. He himself said that he's not qualified for a management position, and I respect that. At most, he'll be a part-time server/host, which he said that he would be happy doing. Thank you so much for the encouragement. :)
This was a pretty good makeover, I like the slight changes done to it. But carpet in a bar, gross. One of the bars I was a regular at had carpet in one part of it, and it always depended on who was closing if they vacuumed it or not. It can get pretty gross, pretty fast.
I'm WAY late to the scene, but I 100% agree. Have a PLAN before making an important decision like buying a dang bar/restaurant if you're going to work with family. Or have your family get combined experienced before making that big decision in the first place.

Alan’s kryptonite: Family run bars!
That’s pretty much every bar’s kryptonite. It never starts well nor ends well.

Point of fact, since you mentioned cafe. Barista is Italian for Bartender.
