Yeah, there’s no damn way this is happening. I swear I’ve seen this debunked before, but WHY would a restaurant do this? Real couples will consistently spend more money at a restaurant than one person who gets stood up (and I’ve rarely heard of people ordering anything more than a drink in those cases). Imagine the sheer number of catfish accounts one restaurant would have to create, and how much extra work it would take on their end to seduce people on dating apps while maintaining normal operations. It’s nearly impossible to even consider, and the risk of getting bad press or being shut down FAR outweighs the income they’d make off of single parties ordering an appetizer and drink.

I saw something like this happen. I was at the Outback and a guy sat down at the same time as us. He kept looking at his watch, looking at the door. He orders a beer and an appetizer. When we were done he loomed dejected and he paid the check. It was 1 person with 1 app at the bust Outback. Restaurants ain't doing this nonsense

Really? She thought this was a "genius marketing strategy"? Here's a better marketing strategy for you... Hire a few girls to create dating app profiles (or use the ones they have) and convince their dates to make reservations to that specific place. Then show up as normal. The restaurant will get revenue for the 2 full meal courses (most likely paid by the guy), the guy will get a date (even if it's a fake/dead end one) and the girl will get a free meal and possibly a commission from the restaurant. 3 out of 3 parties involved will be happy (to an extend).

If you name your restaurant a term the city, the residents, aka most of your customers, wants gone. Doesn't matter what you do to the bar until you change the name.

Seems like it would be much more trouble than it would be worth.

Sounds and smells like a cheap clout chaser to me.

When I worked as a bartender/server over 15 years ago I would encounter people getting stood up. They would either sit at the bar and have a drink or just wait at the reception. Every single time they would not sit at a table and order any food and just leave. I definitely call BS.

I live in Youngstown ohio, I have my whole life, I'm still shocked that John Taffer has come to Youngstown not once but twice!! Now the federal I have never visited when it was called the Martini bro burger bar, but I have after the show has visited the bar. A couple years ago I worked in the building right next to the federal bar and they are ALWAYS packed full with customers now! What John did for the bar REALLY DID SAVE THEM!! BTW their grilled cheese cheese burger is F'ING AWESOME!! THANK YOU JOHN AND BAR RESCUE!! ❤

I love how pizza places charge a delivery fee and ask to tip the driver. The driver is using his car, his gas, his insurance to deliver that pizza, why should that store get a delivery fee?

I would get rid of tipping unless you think they gave exceptional service and want to do so. Just raise the price of the food so the workers can get a normal wage.

Tipping does have a really dark past many don't know. During slavery days, African/American slaves used to get "Tipped" when they underperformed on plantations. Eventually, as slavery was abolished and political correctness took on the mainstream, the concept of "Tipping" changed from negative to positive re-inforcement. The definition of Tipping changed from punishment to giving money based on performance.
