I feel so bad for this poor woman. People like to pull this "oh people laugh at DV when it's a man as the victim" nah, she told him not to touch her and he was grabbing at her anyway. She was well within her rights to get him to back off since it was clear he was refusing to listen to her words. I really hope she left him for good, he's not going to change.

UPDATE: As of 2023, La Luz Ultra Lounge is still open and serving customers in San Diego, CA. However, reviews for the bar aren’t great as it has just a 3 star rating on Yelp and a 3.8 star rating on Google Reviews. The bar is active on Facebook, regularly posting about events and specials. They have lots of live music (as you’d expect), as well as other standard bar events.
There have also been issues with the crowd, which leads to some aggressive tactics like frisking customers before they enter the bar. This kind of makes sense, though, because there was a shooting outside La Luz Ultralounge in November 2021. The argument started inside the club, but they thankfully had the courtesy to wait to start shooting until reaching the parking lot. Two people were injured in the shooting, but no one died thankfully. Here’s a video that shows the aftermath of the shooting at La Luz Ultra Lounge. Overall, La Luz Ultra Lounge is still open and functioning, so it’s a Bar Rescue success story in that respect. However, it doesn’t sound like the type of place I would personally want to attend.

As a Chicagoan, please review “Struck Out at The Dugout”. A bar less than a block away from Wrigley Field, & one of the few episodes that Jon walked out on, because of the owner; “Smiling Ed”.
I’m not one but that’s one episode I couldn’t forget!!!
My nickname for Ed is "Hizzoner"...because, just like Darth Lightfoot, the only thing uglier than that monster on the outside is that monster on the inside.
That guy made me angrier than any other owner, besides Steve or the owners of O-Face

Honestly that dry vermouth looked like swamp water from Louisiana and the fact that the owner claimed it was a setup is pathetic seriously a kid caught with their hand in a cookie jar could make up a better lie

Such vile vermouth...🤢🤮...how does he neglect a bar that bad and call himself a businessman?? A businessman doesn't let his workplace become a s**thole like that!!!! And then he got the nerve to say all of that filth was planted...idiot. 🙄😠 I felt so bad for Edith and was cheering on what she did in this episode, but IIRC I think she took J.P. back, and TBQH if that is indeed the case, that pisses me off. She shouldn't have gone through the trouble of sacrificing her doctoral career to help his business only for him to disgustingly disrespect her and their kid(s), then she takes him back. If I were a family member of hers I'd be outraged.

I think that the problem in this episode with it being a man's world unfortunately. It is a sad truth that I never realized till it was too late.
