he explains exactly how i learned to walk my trigger w/ my promaster and my CP freestyle bearing trigger..the shape of the curve forms perfectly to the curve of my fingers through the trigger guard. awesome video mike!!
Thank you so, so much. I do have a Smart Parts marker (the Vibe) but i found that this Hitting the Trigger Guard technique did WONDERS for my trigger walking and i could get up to my markers maximum ROF. Thank you!
that's crazy cool! i've been thinking about a design like that for about a year now, where your finger would break a light beam instead of hit a trigger, or there would be a touch sensitive pad you tap instead of a moving trigger.
yo mike, this is the first vid i watched of yours. my friend reffered me. what do u think about the invert mini gun, in general?? i want a new giun but dont wanna spend mich on it great vids
Good video, the pointer about touching the trigger further back on your fingers is really important. The triggers on my DM6 and '02 Excalibur are pretty good. My other main marker is an Autococker with an aftermarket trigger....think it's ANS? Really smooth and light, so light you can aaalmost walk it.
Good advice Mike, but what works for you may not work someone else i tried it and i can only really do it left handed which really isn't great for a right handed shooter, but thanks for the advice anyway and keep doing what you're doing
@MrDv23 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its not electronic. Electronic guns tend to fire faster so I would get an electronic spyder to walk. You need a hopper that can keep up too. CO2 will cool, due to loss of volume(charles Law), and you'll start to shoot CO2 chips. The shots will be more inconsistent, so I'd get compressed air. I think the hopper, a better barrel, (try dye ultralite) and compressed air. Shooting more accurately is way more important then walking when you are new
Good vid. I Have to say I have set 100s of triggers and Im not going to brag but I shoot semi very very fast. I can give you all a good hint how to set up your trigger. Time and trial and error. I like mine sort of like mikes but depends on the gun. My Geo 2.1 I have messed with the same 3 screws for about 5 hours off and on and I think Im close.. If you think you can set a trigger in 2 minutes and its perfect thats great!! Takes me some time to see how the gun shoots. Shooting vid soon!!
Well, its not always when im playing. I turn on my gun sometimes and just practice snap shooting, but i did just recently buy a Dye Rotor, and i can't wait to try that out 8P Yesterday, i found a training technique to get your fingers going faster. Basicly what you do, is you find 2 rubber bands and wrap them around your index and middle fingers twice, then just slowly make the walking motion with your fingers, then speed up and go fast, it strengthens your fingers and makes them a lot faster
Ramping is a feature in some electronic markers that automatically shifts the mode of fire from semi-automatic to fully automatic as long as the trigger is pulled at a specified rate.
@fisheye300 dude, unless you don't use a pick or you use your left had to pull the trigger, playing guitar isn't going to do jack to help you walk the trigger. Now if you were a BASSIST on the other hand (like myself) that might help.
well whats your budget and what are you going to play? Marq is a great gun all togeather... reliable al that. the closer and the rapper are pretty much the same as the marq just have some minor diffrences. If you want efficiancy you will want a vice. if you like the vice but cant aford it. get a protoge.
man you have really helped me playing paintball... the gun Raven Nexion is that a good gun for double trigger and shooting fast? i subcribed by the way, thank you
mike, you said one of the worst guns for walking the trigger is the Proto Matrix Rail...if I got a PMR would it be possible to exchange the trigger so that I can walk it good ?....thanks
get the ego! They're both good for semi but the ego is really reliable and with the dart kit it gives it a really nice sound signature, Personally I think it sounds better than the NT with a dart kit
If your looking for a good gun to walk the trigger, go with the gog eXTYy. I learned to walk the trigger in 2 days and can now do semi auto faster than my friends and teammates. Go to your local shop and test it out! It's cheap (around 250) and is well made.
I'll make you a deal you get a Shocker NXT, I get a Alias we'll fill our loaders to the max, and the person who empties their loader the fastest in true semi auto gets $200 from the other person Very few guns have a good semi auto trigger
Is there a decent aftermarket trigger I could get for an NXT Shocker? :I This video made me think about it and I had a hard time shooting semi-auto with the stock trigger. It's a pretty inconsistent shot when I'm not shooting on ramping. It seems sort of slow.
lol mike i have a tendency of lifting my pinky and ring finger off the grip and its bugging me. it started after i broke my hand a year ago and idk how to get it to stop. should i like tape em down or what message me back please
@Finest1510 its ok. Semi auto you need a solid gun with no kick at all. For some people (like me) a gun that may have a little bit of weight, it is easier to do work on. The triggers are just so-so. For me personally (now this is all personal preference) it is not crisp enough. Nobody troll please this is all my preference
hey ive got a spyder extra with a rocking trigger and i was wondering how mike felt about rocking triggers and so tips to shoot fast with a rocking trigger thanks
just as a little add.. i think its actually harder to walk for the top finger on wave triggers than the bottom. so i put my hand on a slant.. and i only hit the bottom part of the trigger i can make a steady 14bps using only the bottom.. but with the middle i can only do like 11 because i have to (with the middle part) move my top finger farther back than my bottom one. and for your "dynasty problem" i think thats what they do too because i only need to tap the bottom part of the wave trigger
i got the wgp stratos h/l tank. its a stubbed 68/4500 and it is just a little bit heavier than the dxs but not by much and it is awesome i highly recomend this tank. i paid 179 for mine
I'm curious as to what has made the deuce triggers popular again. Like you used to never see them but now you see em in bob longs stock and all over the place.
millenium- used in europe..the gun ramps faster depending how fast you can pull your trigger psp- semi-auto till 3 bps is pulled then its put into a 13.3 bps ramp which is sustained by pulling your trigger at a constant of 5 bps nxl- semi-auto till 3 bps is pulled then put into full auto nppl-straight semi-auto
Hey, i have a small problem. I use the same technique that you do for walking in semi auto, but for some reason when i shoot with my left side, i cant seem to get the same amount of bps as i do with my right. I think i traced this to the fact that my index finger doesn't hit the trigger as much as my middle finger. Any help would be appreciated!
I know the shocker has a bad trigger, but what about the ion? Granted the stock trigger is terrible, but I got a roller trigger that seems to work well and matches mike's description if a good trigger
@paintballtechpb hey mike, would u reccomend the etek 3 lt over the fusion fx? Also, which has better geometry for semi?? Do u reccomend a different gun for $500 and under? Any responce is appreciated, from anyone.
well yeah it technically can, so can my spyder (i use another gun but I own a spyder too), doesn't mean it's easy to hit 20 bps like it's nothing. So I assume you're saying your fingers can go 20 bps like nothing? Most pros shoot somewhere around 15-17 or something. A gun's speed CAPABILITIES don't necessarily convert to what happens on the field
ya i have a DP G3 SE and its trigger friken amazing. Make sure u lock tight the set screw when u get the gun cuz those hav a tendency to fall out sometimes on the g3. G3 SE= GREAT GUN
Hey for all those people asling about the g4 trigger, like Mike said, it is easier if both of your fingers are pulling at the same distance and tension so the g4 trigger is not ideal for semi play but you can adapt to it im sure. Thumbs u so people see
It's true, proto trigger sucks, in my M7 I add to put a CP trigger, because I couldn't get used to the original... only in the new M8 with the UL frame they put a nice trigger... By the way, great video, I've been shooting for a long time like that and I also believe it's the best way ;)
@Ak74fr3ak muscle memory. if you shoot with your left hand more, it will shoot faster than your right. i used to have this problem because my left hand was super slow because i am right handed. i started to play with my left hand more and practice with my left hand more and it became faster than my right, so i tried playing and practicing with both equally, and they both are as fast as each other. all i can say is when you practice. take 50 shots with your right, 50 shots with your left, etc.
What painball gun do you guys recommend? Im not a newb and Not an expert and not a millionaire but not poor either! xD Should I bye the Planet Eclipse Etha or something else? Please write back ASAP :) Thanks! (I want Etha but is there something better for Approximately the same price?)
do you mind doing a video on the crossfire ss graffiti tank, and a ninja tank? it would really benefit my opinion on witch i should purchase. thankyou sir
so can u tell me a good type of gun to walk the trigger and own the ppl over there with? i just wanna know a good gun that i would be able to walk the trigger with. cuz my spyder Xtra idk if it good walking the trigger with it.
Hey i got an etek 3 and i don't know if that is a very good trigger set up, i set the ramp kickin rate to about 8 balls per second and i can do it fine with low profile (no chicken wing), but i can get like 18 with the chicken wing but i can't do that in a game cuz i'll get shot. Any recomendations for buying a trigger that would work for etek 3? when i was reffing this saturday this kid let me shoot his gun and i thought it was on ramping, it was etek 2 but it was semi, how i set up trigger?
I heard that you shouldn't be pulling the trigger too hard because it can harm how the trigger operates. Is there some merit to this? And if so, can someone elaborate on that? I can do this fairly fast, but I would rather do it slowly and correctly than do it fast and wrong and end up breaking anything.
PSP is a type of tournement play where u set ur gun on ramp/psp mode to a certian number of bps, the gun will just start shooting that rate of fire automatically after u consistantly pul the trigger a few times...u can shoot 13-15bps wit one finger in this mode
my brother is bashing me about buying a tippmann for the grip and the flatline, but mostley the grip beacouse i have a elbow problem and a arm problem, hes saying its not a ''real'' paintball gun. he sais the paintball guns that have the same model as the azodin kaos is a real paintball gun.what should i tell him?
what gun do u recomend me getting sinse my field only allows semi, i am using the g3 right now and it doesnt work for me i dont like it wht gun do u recomend plz reply someone and thanks
The reason for shooting the alias fast isnt just the trigger. When your alias has no trigger spring in it, it is incredibly easy to pull back, and it shoots more than 1 ball if you start walking it.
Mike I am glad you actually put a video at the end showing that you actually have a method to the semi auto madness. Semi-auto only for the win!
he explains exactly how i learned to walk my trigger w/ my promaster and my CP freestyle bearing trigger..the shape of the curve forms perfectly to the curve of my fingers through the trigger guard. awesome video mike!!
thanks for all the tips and tactics you share iv been in the sport for 3 years now and still learn new stuff every time i watch one of your vids
finaly a video on how to walk the trigger for a newbie thank u your a legend of paintball
already have
pickj between CP or Crossfire, the only two I'd go with
Thank you so, so much. I do have a Smart Parts marker (the Vibe) but i found that this Hitting the Trigger Guard technique did WONDERS for my trigger walking and i could get up to my markers maximum ROF. Thank you!
that's crazy cool! i've been thinking about a design like that for about a year now, where your finger would break a light beam instead of hit a trigger, or there would be a touch sensitive pad you tap instead of a moving trigger.
yo mike, this is the first vid i watched of yours. my friend reffered me. what do u think about the invert mini gun, in general?? i want a new giun but dont wanna spend mich on it
great vids

sweet gun mike i just got an FEP Quest any tips for that plz??
thanks bro, your really helping pb players out there with new tactics...so keep making videos
That's some pretty intense trigger walking you got goin' on there at the end!
Good advice Mike, but what works for you may not work someone else i tried it and i can only really do it left handed which really isn't great for a right handed shooter, but thanks for the advice anyway and keep doing what you're doing

I think the hopper, a better barrel, (try dye ultralite) and compressed air. Shooting more accurately is way more important then walking when you are new
i actually love the stock spyder trigger, if you set it right on the microswitch, it bounces like crazy, lol.
Good vid. I Have to say I have set 100s of triggers and Im not going to brag but I shoot semi very very fast. I can give you all a good hint how to set up your trigger. Time and trial and error. although you didn't like it, 175 gave this video 5 stars, and it's been watched 10,000+
@fisheye300 dude, unless you don't use a pick or you use your left had to pull the trigger, playing guitar isn't going to do jack to help you walk the trigger. Now if you were a BASSIST on the other hand (like myself) that might help.

Marq is a great gun all togeather... reliable al that.
the closer and the rapper are pretty much the same as the marq just have some minor diffrences.

man you have really helped me playing paintball... the gun Raven Nexion is that a good gun for double trigger and shooting fast? i subcribed by the way, thank you
Thanks Mike that really explained more than just how to walk the trigger:)
im a happy noob who just got my vibe :) can you swap the trigger for a better one? Isnt burst and auto illeagal for the most part?
mike, you said one of the worst guns for walking the trigger is the Proto Matrix Rail...if I got a PMR would it be possible to exchange the trigger so that I can walk it good ?....thanks
nice video mike. cant wait for the super gun show!!!!!
get the ego! They're both good for semi but the ego is really reliable and with the dart kit it gives it a really nice sound signature, Personally I think it sounds better than the NT with a dart kit
So what do you shoot? Single shot or semi auto?
semi auto and single shot are the same but semi auto is correct
i have a WGP synergy and i changed the trigger and know it shoots better dan ever... thanks dude
I understand what your saying about the proto trigger. stock one is awful IMHO, but i will say the critical was the best investment ive ever made.
hey i have a question, what is the best way to hold your gun.
If your looking for a good gun to walk the trigger, go with the gog eXTYy. I learned to walk the trigger in 2 days and can now do semi auto faster than my friends and teammates. Go to your local shop and test it out! It's cheap (around 250) and is well made.
would u recomend backing the trigge screw that lengthens the trigger all the way out to make it a longer pull but smother and softer?
its not bad, just STUDY the manual, they are VERY different in operation than other guns
I'll make you a deal
you get a Shocker NXT, I get a Alias
we'll fill our loaders to the max, and the person who empties their loader the fastest in true semi auto gets $200 from the other person
Very few guns have a good semi auto trigger
hey mike, which gon do you think i should get: an invert mini or a bob long mvp?
thanks.
is a mini stock trigger good for walking or should i get a new 1?
Is there a decent aftermarket trigger I could get for an NXT Shocker? :I This video made me think about it and I had a hard time shooting semi-auto with the stock trigger. It's a pretty inconsistent shot when I'm not shooting on ramping. It seems sort of slow.
is there any finger exercises to strengthen your trigger fingers?
I have an ion but if i got a a trigger with your good geometry would that help at all? and your videos are really help full thanks.

he says bob long is good, does that meen any bob long is good for semi play? like would the voctory be a good gun to get for semi play?
Do you like the Azodin Blitz 3 trigger?
ya i have a DP G3 SE and its trigger friken amazing. Make sure u lock tight the set screw when u get the gun cuz those hav a tendency to fall out sometimes on the g3. G3 SE= GREAT GUN

is the second trigger he drew a rocking trigger? my friend is gonna get a rocking trigger and i wanna make sure he doesn't pick out the wrong trigger
Hia i have proto matrix rail. I was wandering whats the best trigger to get for it. I can't decide.
if it has 1000psi in the tank, no water is going to get it
Just trust me, this is how the factory checks for leaks
It's true, proto trigger sucks, in my M7 I add to put a CP trigger, because I couldn't get used to the original...
only in the new M8 with the UL frame they put a nice trigger...
By the way, great video, I've been shooting for a long time like that and I also believe it's the best way ;)
Hey but can you still walk the trigger with the proto reflex??
@Ak74fr3ak muscle memory. if you shoot with your left hand more, it will shoot faster than your right. i used to have this problem because my left hand was super slow because i am right handed. i started to play with my left hand more and practice with my left hand more and it became faster than my right, so i tried playing and practicing with both equally, and they both are as fast as each other. all i can say is when you practice. take 50 shots with your right, 50 shots with your left, etc.

whats the best beginner gun thats cheap and has a good trigger
is the piranha GTI any good ?
is the dangerous power g3 good for walking the trigger or using semi?
what gun is that you are using
I heard that you shouldn't be pulling the trigger too hard because it can harm how the trigger operates. Is there some merit to this? And if so, can someone elaborate on that? I can do this fairly fast, but I would rather do it slowly and correctly than do it fast and wrong and end up breaking anything.
i kno you made this vid in 08, but what do you think of the smart parts luxe 2.0 trigger now? good for semi?
PSP is a type of tournement play where u set ur gun on ramp/psp mode to a certian number of bps, the gun will just start shooting that rate of fire automatically after u consistantly pul the trigger a few times...u can shoot 13-15bps wit one finger in this mode

does the mini have a good trigger?
my brother is bashing me about buying a tippmann for the grip and the flatline, but mostley the grip beacouse i have a elbow problem and a arm problem, hes saying its not a ''real'' paintball gun. he sais the paintball guns that have the same model as the azodin kaos is a real paintball gun.what should i tell him?
the U.S Army Alpha Black is good for walking the trigger, i highly recommend that gun.
Does the G3 spec-r have a good trigger? I'm thinking of getting one for semi-auto play.
plz respond
wait its impossible to walk a shocker
or its impossible that its 25-30 degrees?
what gun do u recomend me getting sinse my field only allows semi, i am using the g3 right now and it doesnt work for me i dont like it wht gun do u recomend plz reply someone and thanks
Is fast firing really needed?
hey nice video really helps...hey do u plau paint all if u do.......do u have vids that show u
thanks a lot! i was doing the dynasty way for my bl and another way with my g3. i got to adjust my trigger better now. thanks
DAaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn he shoots fast. What about those triggers that have 2 little indents for each finger? Are those good?
Mike what's that paper behind you on your wall?
not if you have the older models. i have a blue piranha gti e-force, the trigger is very loose and easy for walking.
The reason for shooting the alias fast isnt just the trigger. When your alias has no trigger spring in it, it is incredibly easy to pull back, and it shoots more than 1 ball if you start walking it.
hey this might sound stupid but if u know how about the spyder vs2 stock trigger is it good 4 walking
would changing the trigger on an ION, PMR, or SLG fix this problem?
Is the mini good?
i have one question that has nothihng to do with walking the trigger... how long is that barrel?
is the rex r2 a good gun
Is tippmann gryphon got a good trigger I staring out and I need help?
How are the triggers on the Dangerous Powers F8 and the G3? very bad? okay? good?
