not enough people give this guy no where near the amount of credit hes due, hes devoting his time and money to help the younger generation of paintballers out, and there are still people who are talking shit about this guy...thanks mike, phenomenal tips once again, and you helped us revise our breakout stragey for BCPPL e3
i love this video u know how much i love this video..i watch it once every other week b4 i got pbing like the nite b4..just to get heads up every time..u know..it helps..thnx mike.
hey man just wanted to say thanks for going out of your way to make these vids and going past the simple explinations and explaining everything down to the core. over the years in paintball i have seen alot of people get out because of the little tips and facts about paintball. and now this will cut down the numbers on who that happens to lol.
thank u very much! i am a back player. not because i'm the worst on the field (far from it), but because i am one of the smartest and most aware about what all is going on out on the rest of the field. therefore, i know where and when to shoot and fill.
I used to weight over 320 pounds, trust me, after 2 or 3 weekends of playing front as a big player, you'll have all the motivation you need to eat well and lose weight Losing weight is simple - every day, burn more calories than you eat. If you eat 4000 calories, you need to burn 4500. You'll lose a pound a week. If you eat 3000 calories, and burn 2500 calories, you gain a pound a week. I lost 120 pounds in 18 months following this formula
Consistency and ROF are the 2 biggest things that matter with a marker, other than that it's player preference. When I played 3 man, we just made sure we were all comfortable with all positions, and figured out what we were best at. You have to be able to do everything in 3 man because the fields aren't that big.
I agree %100 percent with your game style. It makes since. Why would you put the best in the front? They could get killed fast. If you put them in the back, they are more reserved for later. makes perfect sense.
i gotta admit....the pod trick actualy helped me lol before id just put my pods in my harness then it would take me longer to find the tab or id mistaken the spring for the tab. thanks
the reloading secret isn't much of a secret to ppl that have common sense but thank you for putting it out there and the little tab idea only works for regular pods with tabs so don't try them with dye lid locking pods its kinda stupid once you try it
Dude!!! i know what ur talking about man! I've been exercising just so i can play better front and all around. Cuz i am so sick of getting out after the first few shots cuz i was too slow to find a place to hide. I used to weight 210, now i'm 186 after 4 months of exercising. I'm not saying now i'm rocking it, but shit, every one noticed that i move a lot faster and warp around the bunker better.
This video just showed up again in my recommendations. Has it really been 13 years? I remember when this was just uploaded lol Anyways this video had a lot of lessons that stuck with me. Love going back and watching the older tip videos
proflex or grillz try both on which ever you like better get. i wore flex's for 3 years..i still wear them somethimes but i tried grilz.. they are a great goggle.. i use them most of the time now.
@wrestlemaniac202 this might not want to be what you hear, but i would advise getting rid of that pack and ditching the remote line. the packs that have the pods going horizontal are normally a much larger profile, and having a large tank on your back is no good either. i would recommend buying a nxe or dye pack as they are quite durable. i also like having my tank attached to my gun for stability purposes, as do most people.
i have another idea to add to the pod idea, put your straps facing towards either side of your body in the same way as the tabs on your pods so their closer and you dont have to reach as far to pull off the velcro
I'm around 230-240ish, it's been awhile, but NXE makes great packs that aren't horribly expensive. Mine is comfortable as hell for my body type and has taken a beating without crapping.
Back players need to have open vision, great communication, good knowledge of lanes, and a lot more. All front players I know respect their back players a lot
I'm 6ft 3in 275lbs. I play back but I like playing front too. I have done run throughs and play snake I will play where ever, we get tons of bounces from our size.
Yeah if you open the lid your letting people know your running out of paint and that is their time to make the move. Using the pod to open the hopper seems to work faster. Granted how you put the pods in your pack is a smart idea. The 2 together should make a good difference on reload times.
hahahha well ive got nothing against what Mike said but, i am chunky but i got a HELL OF A LOT OF ENDURANCE, ive played games non stop for maybe an hour and a half. it takes practice but especially for a "chunky out of shape player" thats pretty damn amazing.
Good tip on reloading (tab position). I don't agree with putting the whales up front though. Normally your speed guys are also flexible and can get into positions that the fat guys can't. They make smaller faster targets that are harder to hit and ultimately their speed is needed to run the tape and bunker the opponents.
@smallhostile lose a bit of weight, I know it's hard to do (I'm 5"9 205lbs and I'm trying to lose some weight too, the hardest part is actually going out and making the commitment.) but trust me, athleticism really really helps! Being tall sucks so if you're tall I'd play back center then move up into the cans to the big standups.
I agree with this idea but when you put your "chunky" players being a front player, it doesn't keep the team from worrying about what your front players are doing. The fast guys are going to be quick and get into the snake and move up very quickly and keep the other team worried about them or whatever bunker they may be playing
I worked so hard to get and keep young people in paintball. Now that younger players are finally a large part of the sport, they want the older players out. Look at how the younger players talk about the older players. I don't want to be part of a sport that doesn't want me here. The new mentality of paintball is once you hit puberty, you're already too old for paintball. How ironic huh? Older players get younger players into the sport, then they want us out
It also depends on how good gets that "out of shape" player in the back side... we have a REALLY chubby man in our team and he always plays in the back because for him doesn't worth it to run at the beggining... anyway he manages to take 1 or 2 players when the game just starts... I think it's not only about their shape but the position in which the feel confortable and how good they are to shoot out people from the back side... ^^
i agree to his strat.. except when it comes to guarding and going up the tape. you have to have good players in the back and on the sides. good players can do the most damage on the tape
i'll answer you both have lots to ofeer me i like the 98c a little more 98c- great gun, cheap, effective, lots of mods, work great with rt's. cons - front grip isn't removeable, not so fun to tear apart A5 - same thing almost like great gun, very effective, loads and loads of mods, remove front handle, easy maintence and little better if u try milsim it. cons huge ass hopper to peg, little more pricey hope that helps got anymore questions just ask
Fire power does make a difference though. If they're putting paint on you, and you can't return the same amount, you're kind of boned. The equipment isn't everything, but it does make a huge difference.
@Tman2022 well technically he said the chunky out of shape players, not just over weight players. I've seen some guys in the military that are a bit chunky but their cardio is still good. I can see your point though
Here's a question for you; I have the same NXE 4+3+2 pack that you have, and I remember in your pack show you said you don't ever carry more than 4 pods. Why don't you tuck in the elasticated loops then? I couldn't help but notice you get slightly (nothing major) tangled up in them at the end there. Just that they seemed a little in the way. I reckon tucking them in would help XD
i think when all your players are the same fitness level then is the time to just experiment. in practice have players switch between front and back and just see where everyone is most comfortable playing
mike what if your center and like you said 2 people go right and 2 go left what if 1 player on left and right get out at the same time where would u go?
@Thunderfoot1289 Theres a snake side and dorito side dorito side usually has alot of triangles or pyramids whatever so they call it doritos like doritos are triangles
im 200 lbs. i play front and i have won games with five minutes by myself so it dosent matter really if your out of shape you just go to have the heart and drive to when every time you step on the feild
Its not that im chunky that matters. Its that im chunky and in fairly good shape for my weight. I play back and i do very good at it. I do play front sometimes. What i was trying to say is just because were chunky doesn't mean were slow and out of shape... well most of "us".
LOL I can clip even the fastest front players about 75% of the time off the break, I do it to D3, D2 and sometimes D1 players every single weekend Not just bounces, goggle shots that can't be wiped :-)
im about to start playing paintball for the first time in my life and i right now while im watching this clip i just stoped eating my chips.. =( but damn coke is a good drink! and now i need a smoke too!
he's not bashing on heavy people, guys, he's being realistic about mobility which is only valuable when applied properly like he said, you gotta trust the support to be able to fill in and be versatile, and if you're slow it's hard to do. that doesn't make 'em better players, they could suck for accuracy or whatever else, it's just a different combat role. relax.
not enough people give this guy no where near the amount of credit hes due, hes devoting his time and money to help the younger generation of paintballers out, and there are still people who are talking shit about this guy...thanks mike, phenomenal tips once again, and you helped us revise our breakout stragey for BCPPL e3

Your videos are great, they've really helped me as ive just got into paintball.Thanks.
I'd like to thank you for your videos. I believe I have learned a lot from your videos
i fully agree with your teamtactics ! also great infos about reloading ! excellent video.
This is an amazing strategy. Thanks for the tips again, mike!
Those reloading tips are awesome! Thanks.
thanks for the tips mike we switched the backs and the fronts on our team and we havnt been beat scince great tip
thank u very much! i am a back player. not because i'm the worst on the field (far from it), but because i am one of the smartest and most aware about what all is going on out on the rest of the field. therefore, i know where and when to shoot and fill.
OMG i learn so much from you mike

the whole tab taword the love
handle thing works so well!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should'nt quit.
Your videos own. DONT QUIT!!!!!
mike i do enjoy your show .next time i play i'm going to play front like u say here
Consistency and ROF are the 2 biggest things that matter with a marker, other than that it's player preference. OH snaps that pod thing is smart ..THKS!
Dude!!! i know what ur talking about man!

true. this is an example but my friend a varsity football player. hes a center and hes huge but can run like a running back. its incredible
you gotta love that sick bass at 7:43
yep I am!

for sure, mike knows his shit, wanna play paintball, its a sport like any other, get in shape.
i have another idea to add to the pod idea, put your straps facing towards either side of your body in the same way as the tabs on your pods so their closer and you dont have to reach as far to pull off the velcro
Guys who can play every position... they are the ones who are in shape
I'm around 230-240ish, it's been awhile, but NXE makes great packs that aren't horribly expensive. Mine is comfortable as hell for my body type and has taken a beating without crapping.
Back players need to have open vision, great communication, good knowledge of lanes, and a lot more. All front players I know respect their back players a lot
i agree. just get your entire team in shape, then you should be fine.
I like the M98 better, the cyclone feed is a disaster and it always breaks
you can put a halo on the M98
I'm 6ft 3in 275lbs. I play back but I like playing front too. I have done run throughs and play snake I will play where ever, we get tons of bounces from our size.
thats the ironmans team theory and stratagey thats why they are so good
Yeah if you open the lid your letting people know your running out of paint and that is their time to make the move. Using the pod to open the hopper seems to work faster. Granted how you put the pods in your pack is a smart idea. The 2 together should make a good difference on reload times.

it would be good if fast playes were in the middle because they can help assist front players when in fire or take a out front players position
when are we playing for guns??
I agree with this idea but when you put your "chunky" players being a front player, it doesn't keep the team from worrying about what your front players are doing. The fast guys are going to be quick and get into the snake and move up very quickly and keep the other team worried about them or whatever bunker they may be playing

i just realized i both love and hate how mike repeats everything he says like a thousand times

That's a good tip with the pack
THANKS FOR TIPS MAN...
@weirdgamer24 he was talking about the guys who are out of shape and dont play all tht often. u sir are obviously in excellent shape.
i love basic purges of info
Fire power does make a difference though. If they're putting paint on you, and you can't return the same amount, you're kind of boned.
The equipment isn't everything, but it does make a huge difference.
@Tman2022
well technically he said the chunky out of shape players, not just over weight players. I've seen some guys in the military that are a bit chunky but their cardio is still good. I can see your point though
@littlepondfisherman good maybe they will start working out now
Don't have out of shape people on your team, dedication means work, when you work you usually lose weight
Just that they seemed a little in the way. likeing the pod tip
@biqq88
then u have 2 options:
1. dont wear golves...
2. uses psp 3 shot or any other mode...
Use a heavy out of shape player and use them as a shield as you run up the field.
well i'm in shape and i play farther up the field because its less paint per kill, and its just more fun. (my opinion)
thats how mike is in all his vids
i think when all your players are the same fitness level then is the time to just experiment. in practice have players switch between front and back and just see where everyone is most comfortable playing
@bladeofzenith thats kinda what im sayin, hes shot me plenty of times... and hes good
@kingraider7 Me too but the back players he's talking about are people who defend the front players by giving covering fire.
mike what if your center and like you said 2 people go right and 2 go left what if 1 player on left and right get out at the same time where would u go?
@xxxLUMPYFATKIDxxx He uses a Pinokio currently but in this vid I think he uses a torque.
@Thunderfoot1289 Theres a snake side and dorito side dorito side usually has alot of triangles or pyramids whatever so they call it doritos like doritos are triangles
it totally depends on each player and where they're comfortable blaying
im 200 lbs. i play front and i have won games with five minutes by myself so it dosent matter really if your out of shape you just go to have the heart and drive to when every time you step on the feild
I'm fat, and I'm up front every game
I'm 6'5" and almost 210 pounds. I was 320 at one time, and still playing front
Good job, someone already said that to him.
what pod do you think are the best
i weight 433pounds most bunkers r to small to cover me so i usually get shot in the first 15 sec what should i do to become better at covering myself
^^ chunky but funky
@SwathedBman It might be annoying, but it sticks it into your head.
Love Handles :)
just saying if ur puting together a team try to get all in shape guys
ummm thats amazing
I play back too
sick jersey.
Wow that makes reloading sooo much easier ha
lol at the pod thing, mike you gatta be OCD, but its still pretty badass
watch out for putting ur thumb on the tab if u got lock lids as i found out u lose quite a bit of paint
Or you make sure your whole team is on shape. Plain and simple
im chunky but im fast and a great shooter what should i play?
@smallhostile Just lose weight, maybe play back corner. It may be tough, but worth it man! Good luck!
Its not that im chunky that matters. Its that im chunky and in fairly good shape for my weight. I play back and i do very good at it. I do play front sometimes. What i was trying to say is just because were chunky doesn't mean were slow and out of shape... well most of "us".
then (based on what mike is saying) who you guys decide is the best of you guys is who you put in back
LOL I can clip even the fastest front players about 75% of the time off the break, I do it to D3, D2 and sometimes D1 players every single weekend
Not just bounces, goggle shots that can't be wiped :-)
im about to start playing paintball for the first time in my life and i right now while im watching this clip i just stoped eating my chips.. =(
but damn coke is a good drink! and now i need a smoke too!
OK see mike this is where you are wrong people can be heavy and play. In my opinion it just takes dedication if that person has it then let em play
this guy is genius...
Thumbs up to the back players. The 'BEST' players in the back. Athletes
about 1 a month
OR what you can do is when your reloading, you can just hold your pod over your loader, shoot WHILE pouring!
or don't have any chunky players on your team.
he's not bashing on heavy people, guys, he's being realistic about mobility which is only valuable when applied properly
like he said, you gotta trust the support to be able to fill in and be versatile, and if you're slow it's hard to do. that doesn't make 'em better players, they could suck for accuracy or whatever else, it's just a different combat role. relax.
