I've got copious amounts of beta alanine running through my veins, CBum video drops and I'm sitting here itching and jittery as hell just to watch this before my shoulder workout. WORTH it! Killed it on legs Monday. My favorite day of the week. Love the vibes. I always try to be the hardest worker in the room. I wanna set the standard. Even at work I find excuses to workout. 10 flights of stairs 10 times a day. Whatever it takes. Much love CBum
in 2001 at age 42 I came in second by one judge (6-5) in a national natty masters comp here in NYC. I was in the shape of my life with 4% bf. I held a fucking pencil in my abs. Everyone said i shouldve won. But the guy who beat me looked great, had been there before and this was my first time in this Fed (INBF). Instead of being bitter I used it as motivation. I carried around a pic of me accepting the second place trophy and looked at it before i trained for the next yr. I came back and In 2002 I won that title.

Man I'm 31 years old and recently found out that I was born with a different heart in February this year, which I had to do open heart surgery to fix one and a half week ago.
My heart was very much enlarged and I was pretty much walking on borrowed time.
I haven't been working out since almost December now, I have barely been watching any training videos since then and now I watch this video.
I can't wait to get back! Damn

I will be able to go for long walks, but cannot lift more than 5 LBS in each arm for the next month, which sucks.. haha
I feel Chris's pain for the poor music choices in the gym. Im so dependent on having headphones at the gym so the music over the speakers doesn't ruin my vibe.

I think my favorite think about Bumstead is even with everything dude has accomplished and all the success and money etc, he still puts pre-workout in a water bottle with a folded up piece of paper. It's easy to like people like this: successful but humble
when he said the "I should have won" rant, I resonated with that a lot because for the longest that was the factor that was holding me back. learning to just put in the work and not expect anything in return is my biggest drive and reward, I think so many people from 1990- current have the mind set of 4th and 5th place trophies that it has really made people feel entitled and we can see it all around, that's why nobody talks to each other on the side walk or in line anymore.

I want to hit legs so badly. 3 years ago I herniated my two lowest spinal discs, constant pain down my left leg since then. I have hit a few leg workouts but it is always brutal, and I didnt want to mess up my form due to my body compensating for the pain and further injure myself, so I stopped. In the next 3-5 weeks I will finally be getting my surgery, I will finally be pain free, and I will hit the largest of leg days after I have fully recovered. I havent stopped training these past 3 years and I dont plan on it anytime soon. Wish me a speedy surgery and recovery boys.

Legs absolutely kill me in a way that back, chest, or arms cannot. I got in a good leg workout yesterday and am feeling the pleasure of pain. Legs are the hardest workout for me to get exactly right. Pain is a good thing. It tells me how hard to push myself the next workout.
I’ve lost 85kg and I have adopted the entitled mindset that Chris was talking bout it fucking frustrates the shit out of me that I have picked it up need to just work on myself and not be that guy no more thanks for the words cbum

Regarding the "Champion's Mindset": You mentioned that you have to work harder if you didn't get what you wanted. I would challenge that idea in the job world that you touched on. There are so many people out there who live of people that work their asses off while giving them the bare minimum. When I started getting into the audio-visual media design job world 10 years ago, I got so much praise at the beginning and then things switched. I got asked "Why are you so shit?" by my boss and manager for 3 years and that was the mildest stuff that happened. I worked 12 hours to satisfy them and always threw in all my heart and passion. It was also 10 years ago when I told them how important a constant flow of posts on RUclips and other social media platforms is and offered my help. I got told off for it. But everything I mentioned got realized after some delay and all my ideas were used by the same people that told me I'm a waste of time. So I did what a Champion would do: I tried to end it with respect but it almost killed me and I ended up in the ICU.
Your Champion's Mindset doesn't matter in the real job world out there if the boss uses it for his own egocentric agenda.
Will it help in sports competitions? Yes.
Will it help when you work for yourself? Yes.
Will it help if you find a team that has the same mindset? Yes.
But the truth is that this has become really rare which is something that we sometimes forget if we created our own bubble of like-minded, empathic, supportive, forward-thinking, and driven people. I found a team like that now and they've shown me that I can do even more than I already knew.
The biggest flex is that I gained a fairly lean 60 lbs since those dark times, I'm way healthier and happier, and my paycheck is pretty exact 10 times as high now so I can give back to the ones I love.
Champion mindset also involves knowing your own worth and dropping the ones that don't.
Don't listen to naysayers and do your thing. You got to stand up for yourself especially in your job, even if that risks getting fired.
If that doesn't lead to something productive, change your employer. Don't get yourself trapped in the mindset that denies you of luck.
If you are the smartest in the room, you are in the wrong room.
Since you knew how to improve but they didn't listen at first, you are probably the smartest and should have left them behind.
Apply it that way. Your job is just something you use to get where you want to be. If there is a better alternative or you feel stuck you gotta change the road you are walking on, otherwise you can't become the champion.
@@nothingbutlove4886 That's all very true and I feel like I said those things in different ways too. The thing was back then that I was too "young and inexperienced" for anyone to believe me. There's an official bureau from the government in place that should have helped me after I asked them 4 times but nothing happened. There was even black mold in the room I was working in and they ignored it. I tried to apply across the country but achieved nothing. I started working 12h shifts as a fireguard through the night to have time to find something new and also doing freelance stuff during the day. But those kinda things got the ball rolling in more than one way. I learned a ton about myself and others in those few years, was good at working autonomous because I had no other choice, had a different work ethic because I knew how bad things could be so I was more appreciative of what I got, and this type of mentality of being appreciative but also hard-working was what started people talking positively about me behind my back which then got me job offers in places I would have never dreamed of before.
In the end, I wouldn't wanna have it any other way. I am glad that I made those bad experiences so early so I could grow from it.
