i've been watching you Chris for the last 3 weeks trying to find motivation to lose weight, i have no discipline what so ever on what i eat or drink and i have really bad anxiety so a public gym isnt an option and i cry about that because of my weak mental. if theres any advice i could recieve from you or the community on how to start and keep up the discipline please give me some tips i wanna change my life and not be depressed person anymore, thank you and i hope everyone has a great day and happy new year.
First of all, i just wanna say that i absolutely relate to you. For years i was bingeing and overeating and then, restricting heavily and fasting trying to "make up" for the weight gain, only to fall back into bingeing... Now for a year or so, i can finally eat normally and not "lose control" over myself. The most important is to try to take notice of what "triggers" your overeating. Personally, i noticed i ate more when i was stressed (ex: work) and ate less when i felt not in control of my life (ex:covid)... then by realizing the patterns you'll be able to find a healthy alternative (meditation, having differently healthy food options available, hobby, etc.) now, before concentrating your attention on losing weight you should first learn how to eat "normally" and healthily. Start with just using basic recipes you already know and try to make them more healthy (less cheese, less butter, less sugar, more veggies/fruit). Master one dish at a time and quickly enough you'll have a lot of recipes under your belt. Try planning your meals jn advance and meal prep one day per week. If eating the same thing everyday for a week is something you dont like you can cook in batches ((carbs: rice, whole wheat pasta, potatoes,veggies and protein) so that at anytime of the day it'll take you just a few minutes to reheat whatever you chose to eat and then add in different sauces or spices depending on what you want that day. Since it's all ready and easy to make you'll be less tempted by junk food or less healthy options that are usually quicker to make than a whole meal. it depends on the person, but i wouldn't suggest calorie counting instead make sure you're eating more protein and making sure you get enough fiber, carbs, b12 vitamin & omega 3. Water is super important too since when we are dehydrated our body gives hunger signals. Try mio or the no sugar koolaid liquid water enhancers, if you like juices or flavoured drinks. it'll help drink less sugar. Allow yourself to eat junk for once a while!! I eat sugary stuff every couple days and dont hold back from buying chips once every few weeks. "not allowing" yourself sugar or salty foods will make you want it even more and then you'll lose control and overeat. Last but not least, try not to feel guilty whenever/if ever you overeat. It's completely normal!! the next day still eat as you normally would, dont try to overcorrect and restrict more bc it can cause more overeating. Take it one day at a time!! progress (mentally and physically) is a slow process and it's not always linear!! Be gentle and understanding with yourself. You can do it, believe in yourself!! 💪

Man when you have big, dense quads that manual therapy hurts like hell(especially when you havent had any done recently and the fascia and muscle is EXTREMELY tight) and I generally have a pretty high pain tolerance but that shit is brutal, start sweating bullets real quick. That and when you have really, really developed(and even more tight) hip flexors are the worst for me, my PT has told me my hips are some of the densest and tightest hes ever worked on and its borderline excruciating for him to fix due to how much force he has to use to "unfuck" them.
Back when my hip flexors were giving me trouble I tried dry needling. They twitched so much trying to release the tension. Never realized how tight my muscles were til then lol
As a personal trainer, I can imagine how much pressure Hany must feel about making sure to provide Chris with the recipe and right feedback. Especially being his new coach. It's a tough job.
