- Your Google Home can do so much more than tell jokes and give you the forecast. Here are five ways to get more out of the Google Assistant built into your smart speaker or smart display.
Be warned, we say the wake words for Google Assistant a lot in this video, so mute your speakers if they are nearby.
Products featured in this video include the Google Nest Hub (formerly the Google Home Hub), the Google Nest Hub Max, the original Google Home and the Nest Mini (the second generation Google Home Mini).

This guy has everything like lol smart TV, Smart blindes, Smart fridge
he's smart himself
Smart bed
"Google Someone's Breaking In!"
Plays I'm A Barbie Girl full blast
Turns all the lights to strobe
Turns tv on to Courage The Cowardly Dog
Buys everything in shopping cart
Burglar and I are confused and screaming and now friends best friends through terrifyingly confusing bonding experience
Modern home-alone:))
Sounds about right!
I don't like leaving negative comments, but this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Seriously though, how do small independent tech channels find the time to mute wake words in their videos but CNET with a team of editors can't? It's not my job to make your videos watchable. Skip.
I came to say the exact same thing, talk about the epitome of laziness

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
or u could just take 2 seconds of ur time instead of taking 15 minutes of theirs
That fridge is a big time flex 👌🏾
Great video!
So CNET is too lazy to mute the keywords in post so they tell people to mute their devices beforehand? OK thanks...
Yeah, they don’t deserve the view if they’re this lazy
Its actually simple to fix. These devices all have a frequency that if its missing, the device won't respond to its wake words. That's how they have commercials where they say 'siri', 'alexa' and 'ok google'. The ad removes the one tiny frequency band (inaudible to people) and then the device won't respond if it doesn't see that. About 5 minutes in an audio processor app.
@@tfharper goes to show you just how lazy CNET is
Yeah what a bunch a wasted time! Don't they realize that I've got 14 Google homes and smart home devices what dumbasses.... thanks for the warning I'll just run around the whole house and shut everything down so that I can watch their stupid video!!
The workout bit was very funny haha. Overall helpful video. Thanks!
"Okay Google, it's workout time!"
I'm sorry, I don't understand "Workout Time"
"Me either" *sobs*
Alexa been real quiet since this dropped
My phone while watching this video: Sorry, I'm not sure if you were talking to me...
There you go Cnet. A little bit of fun, a little bit of personality, an informative and entertaining video.
1:50, I wish google home even did the push-ups for me while i reaped the benefits, lol😁
I like this guy Cnet... lol
Hey, thanks for the great video. I’m just trying to see if my Google Home can instead of just saying you have a reminder, but actually tell me what my reminder eg time to take your meds.
Great video!! 🤣 🤣 Love the bits of comedy!
1:07 show me the money 🤣🤣🤣
0:18 or you can just mute it inn the video like everybody else!
LOL, my Google Home Mini was responding to Chris's voice but not yours, probably because his is pitched higher, and I'm a woman.
I'm glad though, that she said she couldn't ID my voice and I'd need to go to Assistant to complete that request.
The Find My Phone is the best!
let me just say you to were so funny together and I learn so much
You look like the nerdy guy that cici dated on The New Girl. 👍
What kind of automatic blinds are those?
Half push up😅 .Nice video but I think I need a smart house 👍
Funny and informative Content ! Well done
Google needs to let me play TV audio on my Nest speakers / pairs / groups.
I literally hate watching these videos because they never mute "Hey Google"
Whaaat?🤔
@Amusis ;
Big Deal ‼️
Try to excuse Him - as YOU, are Obviously PERFECT 😝 !
grab some headphones
I am getting a Google miñi any day now, thanks. You are funny.
Thanks. I’ve had Google Home device, Samsung phone and tablets and now I can find them . Even if Tab A was taking a nap for five minutes. Next I’ll see if the Samsung TV can turn on in morning. How does it know what time though?
Use the Waking Up Routine. You can write that into it.
Google collects your behavior and what you do. More data collection for Google. Thanks CNET
Nice Tips!
You are overselling the TV bit. Keep the remote near by because you will need it.
I cant find the routine option in the google home...
Hey! My google hub display is in negative colours? Not sure why, please help
Either I am way too high, or CNET is funny?
Google Assistant lacks functionality, it gives very short-spoken responces whenever you ask her any consult, the user ends up talking more than the Assistant with that 8 letters / 2 words phrase, Ok Google, and it’s very slow to respond
Smart Blinds!? Got cop some
What's the music playing at the start of the video?
Thank you for the tips! 🙌🏾
Also. very majestic. 😂🙌🏾
Is he the IT guy from the office?
FINALLLLLY SOMEONE SAIIIIIID IT.
The 90s called, they want their haircut back
my google home doesn't have the routine option..
Hey CNet, how bout you C these Nuts
"Hey Google, plat the movie 'Her'."
He looks and sounds just like rogersbase.
thx hat you did not say the call name
Don’t fear the reaper.
How do i get it to make Google stop tracking my information?
Unplug it.
There's a setting for that.
He catch me in the workout moment lol
To find your phone, why wouldn't you just have the Google Nest Hub phone yourself?
Because you can have your phone on silent or vibrate and then calling yourself won't accomplish anything.
Let's just pray nobody hacks into one of these smart homes. Else the home is all theirs:))
Madness
I was disappointed too. Not muting key words really hurt your video. An expectation has beed set.
Nope. I am absolutely fine without it.
Google should be able to tell you that! 😂
star trek
ffs - i already know how to do pushups!
next!
Is that his house?.... how much does he make?
Hey google cnet sucks ....... mute that
first
Bixby routines are a lot better than google
Spanish version
Instead of asking everyone to mute their own Google Homes, you should fix it in post. Going to remove this lazy channel from my recommendations.
I got more out of my Home by unplugging it and deciding any always on cam or microphone in my house wasn't going to be happening around here. Too much data collection and too many hacks. No thanks.
I just turn the mike off until I'm ready to use it. Simple.
I’m sure there’s some information in here but I couldn’t get past the extremely lame comedy.
He needs a new hairstyle
This video was creepy
