Denny, thanks so much for posting this. It's priceless! It's the first video I've seen of this group and the first time I've seen Athol without glasses. He was ever the playful character. They were so young! (But then weren't we all!) Great fun watching this one.
Ken Ray (the short dude trying to crack up Athol) was the Seeker who left the group, making way for Judith. This clip is pre Bruce Woodley and before The Escorts morphed into The Seekers. Interestingly, the ORIGINAL cover of The Seekers very first album (on W & G records) features a black & white pic of Judith and Ken Ray together (although I don't think Judith and Ken ever PERFORMED together) and with Athol but MINUS Keith, who, because of his full-time job obligations wasn't allowed to 'moonlight'. So for the sake of the album cover, Ken Ray, although having left the group, helped out. Now that Judith has retired and the guys have recorded their "Back To Our Roots" album (with their producer Michael Cristiano as fourth man) I wonder if Keith, Athol and Bruce actually contemplated getting back together again with Ken Ray, before deciding to go with Michael...just wonderin'...
Do any of us? When I was Thirty I never guessed I would spend the next third of my life living in Germany before returning to a Texas that was becoming a country foreign to my younger self. And how it has! Air conditioning is wonderful but it has wiped out so much of the past. NO one even says y’all anyone more.
Her joining the group was almost a fluke. In 1962 she took a job as a secretary at J. Walter Thompson in Melbourne, where Athol worked. The first day there, he invited her to join them for a gig that night. Le reste, c'est l'histoire.
Thanks Dennis, great clip! The other two Escorts were Bob Turnbull and Ken Ray, who was the original lead singer of The Seekers, before Judith.
This is absolutely incredible, never thought there was anything out there like this!

Wouldn't mind looking like a young Keith Potger!
He's the one my sister noticed when I sent her this.
Keith was a dreamboat. Lipssssss!
Athol can escort me anytime!
What a treat--need this after the last four and half years of God knows what.
Athol trying to keep a straight face and I'm cracking up ha ha ha.....
Great clip! Too bad they were evidently using Edison cylinders to record audio on back then. lol
Do you have any more from The Hi-Fi Club hosted by Bert Newton? (which this clip is from).

Not all voices endure like Judy’s and the “Boys”.
Thank goodness Judith came along and knocked them into shape, that was shocking lol
🤣
They're having fun, God bless them!
Look at Keith POTGER Idk what he saying even everyone saying ya ya ya at the beginning
No sound :-(
Who are the other 2 guys?
Bob Turnbull and Ken Ray
Terrible, but great.
HORRIBLE
Agreed!
Manners man there from the seekers
That was funny! Wonder if either Athol or Keith had any idea what was in store for them?

Judith took them into a 4th dimension.. we would never have known them without her ..

Typical guys ... they’re looking for their big break, they’re on tv, and the guy next to Athol is trying to make him laugh! That’s just too funny.
An absolutely priceless piece of music history. Thanks for posting.
Athol, forever the clown, trying not to crack up, and without those legendary glasses! Wow.
Although I prefer The Diamonds' version, this is a great slice of early Aussie Rock!
Athol without glasses! Love it!
I know.
Athol WASN’T wearing glasses?!
What a treasure
omg, this is priceless!
I love.
Brilliant clip. Athol Guy without both glasses and double bass, and trying hard not to laugh...
Ken Ray, Athol and Keith = okay! But where is the 4th? That´s not Bruce!
I reckon if they stayed together they would of been bigger than the Seekers
