I was eight when this was aired on the BBC and I remember dreading this bit of the show. I could barely breathe due to the lump in my throat as I slipped out of the living room, where my family was watching, and went out to the bathroom where I cried my eyes out. 'The Carnival' still has the same effect on me 53 years later.
I read somewhere this was filmed in colour but the colour copy was lost a while ago. I wish they would restore the colour to it but I guess it's not financially viable.
They came back for a 25 year reunion and a 50 year reunion and their voices were just as good then as when they began! Hope their music continues for years to come.

I also remember it, i was about 10. I couldn't sleep due to chichen pox so I watched the show, I will always remember it so sad
The carnival was certainly over when the sung their last song 😢
