Imagine coming out in front of a crowd like that under God knows what circumstances and belting out these songs . This is as honest as it gets, and I love it love it love it. Just amazing that this was preserved, as haunting now as it was back in '65. Watching and listening to this video is the happiest thing that has happened to me all week. Thank you!
Amazing performance-The Seekers stood out from the rest of the 60s bands playing only acoustic instruments-they had their own distinctive sound with the fabulous clear crystal voice of Judith Durham!. A big difference between The Seekers and The Beatles- people LISTENED to The Seekers whereas people SCREAMED at The Beatles-they couldn't hear what they were playing-they gave up playing 'live' .Tom Springfield wrote most of The Seekers hits -his sister Dusty was on the same bill great artist too-! By the way The Seekers sounded just as good live in 2014 as they did in the 60s!
They did play electric instruments occasionally. They worked their way from Melbourne to London as a cruise ship band and they had to play stuff in every genre. Here's a link to them playing "Walk, don't run" in a film recreating that voyage and The Seekers turn out to be a pretty good surf music band. ruclips.net/video/rWfdWg1TRUc/видео.html
Indeed, their success wasand remains always in their genuosity. They have never departed from being true and genuine performers, artists and decent people.
Judith Durham voice was impeccable. No better voice in folk/pop music. Her voice had better resonance in the 60s than in her later reunion with the group.
Wow! Perfectly done. Judith, nor the guys either have never missed a note in their lives. Perfect pitch. Like someone else said, they didn’t have the technology they have today and evidently didn’t need it. You would hear so many groups who had all of this help in the recording studio to make their record sound good. The Beatles for one needed all of these dub overs so they really could make their live performance sound like the record. The Seekers just sang it live and it was exactly like the studio recording. That is amazing. The only other person and group that could do that was Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge.
0ne thing among many that I like about these guys is that they sound as good live as on their records. Judith is so small and vulnerable, seemingly in need of male protection, but when she sings she knocks it out of the park.

The Seekers always put on great live performances. Judith had perfect pitch and the harmonies are just sublime. Arguably one of the best live performers of that era. Even the Beatles couldn't pull off many of their recordings live. Their performances on the New Musical Express appearances are really poor.
Thank you for posting. This is from the Prize winners presentation at Wembley Arena on April 1965( The Seekers were elected the Best New Group by a magazine poll). From this five minute presentation you get the feeling that if the Seekers had just more five minutes on stage they would completely conquer that public. From the loudness of applause noticeably increasing from the first to the second performance one can clearly feel that.
Their motto back in the 60s was "Australian music to the World". They certainly served it up in spades and hasn't the World been a better place for having The Seekers ever since.
That song eventually knocked "Ticket To Ride" out of first place after it had stayed there for 5 weeks. The Seekers won the award for Best New Group and Clint Walker was there to hand out the awards. As they walked away, Clint's eyes watched them longer than would usually be the case because he was admiring Judith's figure from behind.
Another You is a beautiful song, beautifully sung. The sound isn't up to par but this was a live show back in 1965 when things were yet to be digital. We live in a digital age now and all the songs are trashy and puerile. 1965 was a better age for music.
Maybe for political correctness, the introduction by Jimmy Sa'vile should be removed, as after his death the 'vile' part of his name was shown to be very accurate! However, the Seekers were at their freshest in this performance.
The amazing Judith Durham! What a fabulous voice! She was always pitch perfect! One of the best female singers of the 60’s & 70’s! The Seekers were a very talented group!
The sound of my cradle. Had the great privilege of seeing the Seekers live in Liverpool in 2014 for my 50th birthday. Judith’s voice - OMG - she’d just recovered from a stroke and it was AMAZING. I’d die happy with her voice in my ears
I've watched this video many times (and I'm 69). But what I really enjoy about it is I try to imagine what the group is experiencing in their young adult lives! Can you imagine the emotions? Their families back home in Melbourne, Australia whom they have not seen in many weeks? How proud they must all have been! Wow!
@John Thomas, Very well said! I’m 70, and I remember the exact moment and where I was standing when, at 15, I first heard ‘I’ll Never Find Another You.’ And, like every teen-aged boy back then who knew of The Seekers, I had a huge crush on Judith Durham.
What a treasure! Worth even more after all these years. I must confess…..I have had a crush on Judith since I first saw her sing in 1965. I am 75 now and she is gone. Alas.
What a tremendous voice! It seems like almost every group back then had someone playing a 12 string guitar, what they didn't have was a Judith Durham, the closet thing to them was probably the Mama's and the Papa's with Cass Elliot. Thanks Seekers for all your great music.
Do you know, I'm 67 now, so old enough to have heard them the first time around - but I appreciate The Seekers all the more these days. What an angel is Judith Durham. And let's not forget Tom Springfield who, as mentioned here, wrote some of their most memorable songs. Does anyone know if The Seekers wrote any of their own?
I don't think they had any of their own compositions at the start, but towards the end of 60s they wrote a few and there were more originals on their reunion tours.
Hahaha, many many many ☺. Actually their hits mostly were wrote by Springfield, but as many folk music artists they did covers, sang traditional songs and wrote others by their own, and also there are many great The Seekers songs that were composed and wrote by them. Also they collaborated in the composition of some of their songs with Simon And Garkunfel, more specifically with Paul Simon, another folk music group.
I remember what stood out in this song was the haunting vocals of the female singer that brought this sing to life in the 1960s,she was created for that role
Labour gave up on the working class and adopted the New Age while the Tories became philistines regarding culture and everything revolved around money.
One thing that is a 100 percent certainty is that those three lads who make up The Seekers, (who excellent musicians in their own right), could search the whole world over and they will never find another Judith Durham. NOT A BAT IN HELL’S CHANCE!!!.
This wonderful clip is from the New Musical Express 1965, where The Seekers show us all just how it's done. Judith's vocals are beautifully vibrant and exciting, and harmonies are rich dispite Keith's faulty mic where his 12-string lead break drops out on ''A World of Our Own'' (one of many tech problems that day). The entire hour and a half concert is posted on youtube with the Beatles, Stones, Animals, Kinks and many others. It puts into context which performers had their act together at this time and The Seeker were there at the top. The many comments warmly reflect their outstanding performance. The talented Georgie Fame, one of the better acts, is highly entertaining as he plays the Hammond and sings while defty pursuing a mic that apparently wants to have very little to do with him...good for a chuckle. Also...listen at the beginning for the chorus of ''cat call whistles''...sweet Judith must have known tongues were dragging!
Some may find this comparison a putdown of Judith (it isn't), or may not understand the reference, but I think in this clip you can clearly hear the influence of Kate Smith on Judith's delivery and phrasing. I mean this in only its most complimentary sense - Kate Smith was a fantastic singer.
Just read your comment. I’ve always been a very anxious person. I used to listen to these two songs when I was a very young child. Made me feel calmer and happier.
Slight tempo change at the beginning. The intro from Keith's 12 string guitar was less than perfect when it started out. The joys of live performance! I've never been a big fan of stadium performances because the sound quality is often really bad and you can't hear the performers because of screaming audience members and external sounds, but this was good. Good musicians, and Judith's voice is very special.
Fantastic historic clip Judith’s voice at its best Encapsuled the hope and optimism of the early sixties. After this group split, music world descended into drug fuelled madness
One of the greatest singing groups of all time. The Seekers are forever. I never tire of them. And neither does my 7-year-old granddaughter.
That was so sweet, what you said about your granddaughter...

The Seekers! All time musicals! Listening to these voices on 31stDec 2018 n sounds as they did in the 1970s!! Bravo....
Still sounds great a half century later.
RIP Judith. I was a child when these songs were coming out in the 1960s. The Seekers were my favourite group. This week feels like the end of an era.
I miss her every day
ITS. GREAT. WE. CAN. ENJOY. THE. SEEKERS. VIDEO. HERE. EVERY. DAY 😄

Sadly, they were introduced by Jimmy "the diddler" Seville! Godspeed dear Judith! There's no replacement for you or your music! BOOMERS RULE!
I thought the same. 😣
Ikr, filthy vile animal shouldn’t have been within a thousand miles of Judith.
Two acoustic guitars, one upright bass, and four angels singing.
Still as fresh today as it was in the 1960s. The voices blend so well. Thanks!!!
Still listening in 2020. Such powerful voice. Great songs and singers are never forgotten. They stay cherished, as they "age".. like wine.

Still listening Oct. 2022
unfortunately, this beautiful lady's voice has now been silenced. What an pleasure it was to hear this.

Still love listening to their songs & interviews. They cared about each other!
Judith Durham voice was impeccable. No better voice in folk/pop music. Her voice had better resonance in the 60s than in her later reunion with the group.
I agree with that - comes with age I think. Joan Baez sounded as if she had lost something in her later years.
Outstanding performance. Her voice is so lovely and the background vocals and instruments are first rate. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow! Perfectly done. Judith, nor the guys either have never missed a note in their lives. Perfect pitch. I was hooked the first time I heard them in 1965 and enjoy them as much now as then.
So was I. Bought every vinyl released in the U.S.A. and then stumbled upon their reunion about 2017. So glad I did!
0ne thing among many that I like about these guys is that they sound as good live as on their records. Judith is so small and vulnerable, seemingly in need of male protection, but when she sings she knocks it out of the park.
And how!!
Judith just kept getting more and more stunningly beautiful. Line up behind me boys, i saw her first!
I'll fight you for the front spot.
My heart is broken right now, but Judith will go on and on. RIP, JD.

A great joy to listen to Judith and her friends. Such a talented singer.
There's a new world somewhere
They call the promised land
And I'll be there someday
If you could hold my hand
I still need you there beside me
No matter what I do
For I know I'll never find another you
There is always someone
For each of us, they say
And you'll be my someone
Forever and a day
I could search the whole world over
Until my life is through
But I know I'll never find another you
It's a long, long journey
So stay by my side
When I walk through the storm
You'll be my guide, be my guide
If they gave me a fortune
My pleasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow
And never mind at all
But if I should lose your love, dear
I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
But if I should lose your love, dear
I don't know what I'd do
For I know I'll never find another you
Another you, another you

Bright smiling eyes, fantastic hair, and the most stellar bangs of all times.
Cleopatra herself would be found lacking by comparison.
She sings so effortlessly. No little vocal tricks or effects just straight out singing at it's best.
The Seekers always put on great live performances. Judith had perfect pitch and the harmonies are just sublime. Arguably one of the best live performers of that era. Judith's voice and the team ( The Seekers) are unforgettable.
Wonderful. All are good, but Judith sings so effortlessly. I don’t she realized then how good she was.
The best vocal group of all time. I loved them then, love them still.
Brilliant music from The Seekers in a time when there were many talented groups about. Splendid!

you should hear her sing DANNY BOY WOW
Judith's voice is so clear and pure. With no technology, they sound almost as good as the record album.
Good is always good. But this group is GREAT.
From a time when the performing arts were REAL. How I miss those times.
So true Lorraine
what a fucking cliche
@Catherine Murphy Not quite, I think there are a good many factors at play.
To think this is a live performance- Judith's voice is amazing
Checkout Judiths solo live performance of Danny Boy.....Incredible.
Judith Durham (1943 - 2022) had a great voice. I live in Brazil.
Athol said he hoped "World of Our Own" would be as successful as "I'll Never Find Another You" - I think his wish came true.
Judith simply just shines here, what a truly exceptional singer she is .....
Their motto back in the 60s was "Australian music to the World". They certainly served it up in spades and hasn't the World been a better place for having The Seekers ever since.
Tom Springfield is the Genius behind these songs! GOD BLESS HIM!
Judith Durham has the voice of an angel
She is truly an Angel !
This song and this group gives me goosebumps up and down my arms!!!
For a live performance and the limited technology of the day that is one bloody impressive performance!

Yep I'd like to see Kylie Minogue try to top that.
That song eventually knocked "Ticket To Ride" out of first place after it had stayed there for 5 weeks.

And it did do as well for the next 45 years. Love this band.
