WOW! I had these in Korean overnight and ive tried to make them at home but have been using the oven. This charring in the pan is about to be a game changer!! thank you so much for sharing
I love these. I prepare them slow baked in the oven, with a paste of miso and butter and top with green onions. It's the same sour sweet combo that is out of this world. Thanks for this!
@@prizmendez3186 2 parts room temp butter, 1 part miso paste. so 1 tbsp miso, 2 butter, etc... mix vigorously until well blended (I use a fork vigorously) and form a paste of the butter/miso mixture. Spoon into hot potat, top with green onions, delicious!
Thanks for sharing a part of your heritage Angela! These DEFINITELY look sooooo delish! Your tutorial is great and goes really in depth in explaining the steps. I recently went to a Korean market and bought tons of korean sweet potatoes but I didn't know how to roast them, thank you! And where can I buy ahjumma panta? Seriously:)
Do you know if you can use a rice cooker to roast these? I am curious, because I have both and wonder if they would come out ok and how I would do it. Thanks.
Vicki! Love Korean food and the sweet potatoes are just wonderful and so healthy for us! Love your videos. I am thinking of putting these in my crockpot, lined with foil and one inch of water! Yummy!
Yeah I don’t think you got the Asian squat quite right. But you doing great on the potato! Another RUclips or has a video “how to do an Asian squat / physical therapy” you might want to check it out it seems to me to be an excellent video and squatting. ❤
I have a question, in Spain sweet potatoes are orange inside but in Korea they are golden inside, so how many types of sweet potatoes are there? And which are the golden sweet potatoes in Korea named?
The Spanish one was an imperial product of AfricaI think. The Korean one is actually Mexican since Aztec/Mayan someone stated in the comments. Many produce is named after the country power who seiged. Not the country or origin
My mom bought me potatoes and said that they are sweet potatoes, so I searched how to do it and I find this video so I did it your way and waited alot then I foud out it was a NORMAL potato wth I'm so disappointed 😔

Is there much of a taste difference between sweet potatoes in America and Korean sweet potatoes?
Yes there is, Korean sweet potato is more sweet chestnut like and I think starchier or “meatier” (for lack of a better word) but they’re delicious!
Hi! Can I steam it and THEN roast it?

Roasted sweet potatoes is a 100% Mexican Snack not Korean. In Mexico is known as "Camotes Asados" and has been eaten since Aztec and Mayan Times.
Try saying that to the Koreans lmao~ no one is going to say that they are eating a "Mexican snack" over there
Bro, chill. It's food.
