Looks like you finally figured out the towing apparatus on Bernie. Good job! Don’t worry, non of the guys who watch knew how either or they would have told you how. 🙂👍
My wife and I really love this second channel episode and would like to request a monthly “Duffs Daily Shenanigans” please. We love the regular episodes as well but it’s nice to follow you and Duff for a day. It reminded me of living in Minnesota as a kid and all the stuff we would get into. Thanks for another great one.
I don’t know how you stand it, living in North Dakota. I mean, the skies are gorgeous. The wide open space is incredible. But THE COLD!! THE SNOW!! I don’t know how you do it. Love the day in the life! Great episode on the second channel.
Any Mortske and Duff day is a good day what's happening with the 56 ,and the Impy ,Bernie is a gem .I hated the snow that's why I moved to Texas ,Yea I like what you did in this video
My shop teacher used to snack us in the back of our heads every time we forgot and left the chuck key in the chuck of the lathe. Every time i use my lathe I think of that. RIP Howard Kelly. You finally did get through to some of us. That's all I'll say about that. I couldn't live where you live. Way too much cold and Hoover Schneef. Great video as usual.
The winter that will never end. Thanks for taking us along. Now I understand why the snowbirds live out of their RV's all winter long on the barren Arizona desert.
One thing I absolutely loved about our northwestern Michigan small town (get avg. 8ft of snow) that didn't even have a stop light, there was an old weather beaten shack next to the train tracks, and you could barely make out the engraved word 'icehouse', so weather beaten the wood had deep grooves in the boards. Imagine working as a lumberjack, getting your weekly pay, stopping at the grocer for some grub, sodas and just maybe a "tin" of potato chips for the kiddies --- and dagnabit ya gotta haul home a 50lb block of ice for the ice chest.
@@moremortskerepair4354 We love our snow in Mich. Its mostly the lake effect kind, usually about 35 degrees outside and comes down 1-2 inches per hour, the winter wonderland where ya wanna dance and way your arms about like your hair is on fire. Then your sad when your snowed in for a week.
Mr. Mortske, probably too late this year, but, you might think about picking up one of those "Small" cheap rubber flapper snowblowers that you can use to "Blow" the snow off yer roofs instead of shovelin', it'll save yer ticker suum. At my age, excitement for me is watching my Wisconsin neighbors blow snow off their roofs, exciting times! Keep makin' the videos.
This was a great change. Would love to see one of these once a month or so, or things like shop tours, lot tours etc. Also I had a great belly laugh when you touched the light Mojo hung up with hopes and dreams. Have a good one!
Mortske, when you don't have any regular material, a vlog style like this is good "filler" material 'cause it still gives us something to watch so we don't wonder what happened to ya and still lets us see what's going on and keeps us up to date, plus we will watch.
With all the snow you get up there I'm surprised they have any buildings with flat roofs. Our house in SW Ohio was built by folks from the old country ~ 1896 and we must have a 50 degree slope on the roof, they were counting on some snow. I enjoy all your videos, please keep doing what you're doing!
I completely agree with you and puddin about random people just showing up at y’all’s home especially while you’re working but I think you and puddin handle it with class y’all keep it up
I feel hecka bad for your friends and neighbors who lost roofs due to the snow pack out there. I live in California, in an area where we don’t often get snow. However, I lived in Nebraska as a child and I remember some heavy snow storms back then.
I live in Utah and I have had to shovel my roofs a couple times also. Pro tip; extend the ladder a couple rungs above the roof line, it will be easier and safer getting on and off the roof.
I can't believe people just stop by and invade your privacy like that. I bet they wouldn't like 200k strangers just showing up to their house and interrupting them. On a different note, I really enjoyed the video, Thanks for sharing! 😊👍
My cousin owned an auto repair shop ( he didn't even have a RUclips channel or anything like that ) and he used to have people "stop by" all the time to shoot the breeze or want to drink beer or just hang out ! Hey man, this is a business - I'm trying to make a living here ! He had a reputation as "the guy that could fix anything" and he was always nice to people - that was what became the trouble. I think he is retired now - so no more issues like that. I don't have that kind of patience.
Sorry guys, you show up at my home or business unannounced you might get a warm welcome or a a one time warning, depending on what I’m doing always call or text first and wait for an invite before “stopping by”

Stuart in Ontario......................
Hey there Mortske, if you look near the end of those fuel nozzles, you'll notice a little hole. That's called a "check valve". That's what is supposed to activate the shutoff when fuel reaches that point. If it becomes dirty or clogged, the shutoff will not operate. Remove the nozzle, flush the check valve with gas or solvent, blow it out gently and resemble. Should be just fine.
Day with Duff video seriously appreciated! The Duff Dog and Mortske’s motor musings transcend a threshold to a theraputic mystical experience…Thank you Mort, Chin, and of course, Lord Duff!
Thanks for showing us around the shop and your everyday life up Nort in the snow belt! You need to get yourself a Roof Rake! Stand on the ground and pull the snow off the roof! Old Duff is a real snow dawg!
I like Hanging out with you and Duff, Vlog style or whatever the Terminology I appreciate you having us along. Thank the Lord we are coming out of this Dreaded Cold. You are a Real Trooper dealing with all that Hooversniff!! Hey, Rub Duff behind the Ear for Me, would You? I’ll catch you on the next one, Keep It Safe Out There Sir
That was fun and interesting. It’s nice to see what else goes on when you’re not breaking valves and removing fingers with a fan blade. 😁. I would definitely watch more stuff like this if that something you’d like to do. Thanks Mortske!
Mortske you are 100% right on the privacy issue. This was a great video. Got to Duff and ole Bernie the famous tow truck. I’m thinking you are almost as busy as that two pronged tomcat Puddin referred to. Wishing alot of melting sunshine. 👍👍
Anyplace of business that has an office with office personnel is visitor friendly or should be! A business in someone's personal property unless an office is available, should not be visited by walk ins! So your absolutely right about having people interrupt you! Some companies are not open to the public!
Thanks for showing what life is like up wherever you live is ln winter. Makes me appreciate KY somewhat. I would really dislike having to shovel snow off my roof. Bernie is still my favorite vehicle, great old Ford.
Best advice ever on the SUV, I got me an 01 Expediton also. Comfortable, powerful enough, cheap. Holds all my junk and don't have to worry about it getting stolen out the bed or wet.
We used to take a leaf blower up on our roofs to help with removing snow works great on metal roofs!!! Another great video for the second channel thanks buddy!.. And YES more videos like this !!!!! ☮️
Love the videos where you show how to use the old school equipment. I try to watch those with my son and his friends after they get home from going to GM mechanics college... Showing them how certain jobs used to be done back in the day really opens their eyes and they're learning to appreciate the craft of mechanics, where as before it was just a job to most of them.
I am in Illinois and I remember roofing in December. We would have to shovel the snow off the roofs then tear off then tarp it off and come back the next day and lay shingles.
It's so weird that people will Google map your place, put time into finding out where you live, and try to shove their way into your life. Just because they watch you for an hour or two a week, its creepy. That being said, I'll be swinging by for Thanksgiving this year. I'm just kidding. Thanks to you and puddin for making Mondays great again.
Yep. You need to make a squarebody profile wall hanger out of junk "donor parts"...bed side, cab/rocker door surround, door, fender, and a couple wheels and tires..and mount it up there on the wall! As luck would have it....that mud truck gift is just the ticket!
Plow and shovel. Plow and shovel That's what we up here in Maine also. I'm over it! I love winter but enough is enough. Won't be to long and I'll be complaining about the heat. 😅
I moved away from north Dakota in June of last year and moved to west Virginia. This place is gorgeous but there's something so beautiful still about the endless fields of snow .
A snow scoop saves time your back makes clearing snow off roofs quick and easy. It slides on the snow on the roof on plastic runners, doesn't damage the roof. Good also for removing snow around the foundation, scoop, and slide to dumping area, no lifting.
To be honest I love the randomness of the second channel! Way more funner to watch several different things going on than watching floor pans going in....
well that been real neat got a foot of snow and rain coming tonight that will make for some good roof caving tonight. great. enjoyed my friend. cheers. morts.
