    Personally I'd have routed the tails into the bottom right of the board to keep them clear of the circuit wiring, but good job all the same!

    Nice run through. Was the water supply a metal service ? The gas bond probably should have been before any branches.

    Not advisable to have fridge/freezers in garages. In winter when temperature drops, many stop working as designed to work indoors only. I think there are only one or two makes that will work in garages.

    Does the equipotential bonding on the gas have to be before the tee on the gas outlet pipe? I know nothing about electrical requirements. Not sure how much of a difference it would make on this installation? As a gas engineer, just wondering how much of a difference it would make here? Nice tidy work on the consumer unit.

      Morning, The regulation like the gas bonding to be installed within 600mm from memory as stated here "The main equipotential bonding conductor connection to any gas or other service should be made as near as practicable (preferably within 600mm) to the point of entry to the premises." Hope this helps

    Who pulled that main fuse out?

    Can you explain to me why there are 3 red 2.5 wires in 2 of the 32 Amp Rings? Are 2 of them for a Ring and the 3rd a fused spur maybe??? Answers Below Please .

    • @letelectricalservices5143
      @letelectricalservices5143  Год назад

      Correct, 3rd is a spur

      When I did my 18th edition refresher course my teacher pointed out that you are allowed to spur off a ring Mcb with one double socket and there it was in the regs book I didn’t know. This was useful recently when I needed a double socket in a cupboard for a cctv rack but the board was full.

      Yes you are correct, i was thinking of an optimal design where one wouldn't require an add-on spur. thankyou for your responce Sir.@@Baggiolyful

      Your aloud to fuse spur directly from the mcb

      What about bridging a RCBO cos you can only get 2 x 2.5mm cable in each Live & Neutral terminals? Are Wago blocks aloud??

    Is that bonding cable protected against UV?

    • @letelectricalservices5143
      @letelectricalservices5143  2 года назад

      It's not the best solution but only solution we had due to tile flooring and bathroom above the kitchen. Alot of Bonding cables are run externally and gas meter are normally situated outside in local area with no near entry.

    • @Dontmindme__
      @Dontmindme__ Год назад +2

      Think you’re missing the point, should be in conduit or otherwise protected against UV

      @@Dontmindme__ give me a reg number that states this? Granted best practice but I can't think of any that would support it 🤔

      You think UV is going to degrade a thick insulation and a 10mm copper? Been in the industry 20 years and have never heard that.
