And the way Jester worded it the situation seems that her mother may have told her stories but just not about the feywild and the traveler just told her more stories. I think the situation is that her mother isin't neglectfull. Just busy due to being a single parent. Also Jester stated that her mother had to keep her hiden because her existance gould compromise their only source of income and that would cause a lot of problems. For example if they have no money to pay for security then some less savoury individuals may come and try to take a piece of the Ruby of the sea which i imagine might not end in the best way for Jester.

does Ashley have issues calculating in her head? she needs to use fingers for terms like 8+5 sry for asking but as a mathematics teacher those calculations shouldnt even be need to calculate but just be "known". but maybe its my european school system talking here xD

That part kind of bothered me though... Asking Nott why she was okay with attacking goblins is like asking the others if they like attacking bandits. Asking Nott that question, and Nott's statement that other goblins are bad is just basic objectification.
@@AndirHon It's not quite the same. Humans land all over the alignment chart and come from all sorts of backgrounds. The vast majority of goblins will have the same alignment and general backgrounds. Not to mention in world most of the nein probably aren't familiar with goblins or how they generally feel about things. Sure humans can generally justify killing other humans, but for all they know killing another goblin could be devastating.

Also, I didn't like how Taliesin basically forced the group into feeling scared of being pulled into the army.)

I adore that Taliesin's crafted a backstory that enforces a hatred of backstories. Like, Mollymauk actively hates the idea of uncovering anything about his past, and intrinsically hates uncovering other people's backstory. If who he was doesn't matter, who they were before he meets them doesn't matter.

my first time watching C2 but i have been spoiled a lot, so i already know about Nott... well seeing Travis's reaction then was one of the few times in my life i was glad for having read spoilers haha i think i would have missed that completely otherwise
also can we talk about Matt's AWESOME storyteller/DM move right there: you can see he glances and catches Travis having an epiphany, and then you can almost see the gears in his mind computing that if the conversation lasts Fjord could ask some questions to Nott leading to too much of a reveal so soon, so he needs to put an end to it, and comes up with the "oh here's a thunderstorm btw" to fast forward to the next scene and avoid more backstory talk! as a beginner DM i am amazed and wish i can reach this level of quick thinking someday (or maybe i read too much into that and Matt just wanted to say there was a storm coming lmao)
I feel like we need to talk more about Yasha's reaction to seeing a cat for the first time. It was absolutely adorable, especially when she was confused by Frumpkin's purring, but also foreshadows somewhat about her past. Cats are pretty common animals, and from what she says in this episode it really feels like she lived in a very isolated rough place and she experiences common things like cats or grass or flowers and is amazed by them. I need more Yasha with a cat content

@@MrBottlecapBill A little mean - by the standard of this show, which features professional actors, Ashley is obviously less comfortable with improv than many of them, however she has found a character by using that to make hers a shy barbarian, which is cute in the way it contrasts. By the standard of the majority of Role Players out there, Ashley remains a brilliantly talented actress (see Last of Us), and when she is capable of giving an amazing and emotional performance. She is just very slowly developing a character. She even has started speaking with an accent specificially for her character, which is a big step for an actress who usually uses her own voice when performing.

welp besides a socially awkward mage, beligerent monk, big scary socially awkward barbarian girl , klepto goblin (who does ask right questions sometimes as you say) and a hedonist peacock tiefling - yes it kinda makes sense
And then you have our group, where our bard knows Healing Word, we have 2 druids with at least one healingspell prepared and a vampire that was a doctor with homebrew potions and healingkits. So 4 out of 7 can get people up if they're unconsious. We hadn't really discussed everyones role beforehand.
When Yasha said Frumpkin was making a weird noise. So accurate to my old roommate who never had a cat before. One day he opened up and pet my cat, next thing I hear is him running to my room freaking out about my cat "vibrating". He had no clue what purring was. Thought my cat was sick or something lmao
Oh my gosh yess this was me! I'd only read about cats in books before so I always imagined purring as a soft kind of noise, so the first time I actually felt a cat purr I seriously thought it was suffering from some kind of lung disease and got genuinely worried. Writers of the world, please describe purring better.
@@SocialistSadako depends on the cat, when i had a cat you couldnt really tell when he was purring because it was super soft and he had asthma so his breathing kinda hid it. some cats you dont even need to touch them and you'll hear the purring from across the room.

Even when seeing the private convo I noted to myself that he brought up his helpfulness to her. Obviously he loosely helped/helps the other but beau was in shits creek during the gnoll mines, plus the three of them together could stupid amount of damage in theory class wise! When he’s not trying for cheap laughs, Sam shows why he’s so sought after as a voice actor. He can make you absolutely believe in his character’s motivations with no valley between him and his character.
I think it's kind mean to reduce Sam to a "cheap" comedian. Throughout this and the other campaign, Sam has consistently been a comedic genius. He isn't just a guy making funny jokes, being a comedian is part of his repertoire

I often forget that everyone at this table is a voice actor. Not for any reason in particular, because their voices are usually phenomenal, but Jester's genuine pained cries when she thought Caleb was truly dead and her healing "wasn't working" genuinely sent pangs through my heart and reminded me they do voices for a living, so of course shes going to be a good voice actor. I love this fantastic crew so much.

Mollys backstory is basically "i woke up with amnesia..." and then he let matt do all the work. Well Vox Machina had 4 people come from "high society" (Percy, Keyleth, and sort of Vex & Vax) so traditional lawful makes sense. Where as Mighty Nein... well... a Trickster Cleric, a Warlock, a Bloodhunter, and a Goblin... even without the 'edgy' backstories they were never gonna be as lawful as Vox Machina lmao

Sam never ceases to amaze me with his ability to be a jokester and prankster and even not involved in the story for a half hour or more and then all of a sudden a super emotional moment where you feel like you are actually there watching this happen because he seems so invested in his character and her story.

I think the situation is that her mother isin't neglectfull. Just busy due to being a single parent. Also Jester stated that her mother had to keep her hiden because her existance gould compromise their only source of income and that would cause a lot of problems. For example if they have no money to pay for security then some less savoury individuals may come and try to take a piece of the Ruby of the sea which i imagine might not end in the best way for Jester.

@@AndirHon It's not quite the same. Humans land all over the alignment chart and come from all sorts of backgrounds. The vast majority of goblins will have the same alignment and general backgrounds. Not to mention in world most of the nein probably aren't familiar with goblins or how they generally feel about things. Sure humans can generally justify killing other humans, but for all they know killing another goblin could be devastating.

I adore that Taliesin's crafted a backstory that enforces a hatred of backstories. Like, Mollymauk actively hates the idea of uncovering anything about his past, and intrinsically hates uncovering other people's backstory. If who he was doesn't matter, who they were before he meets them doesn't matter.

my first time watching C2 but i have been spoiled a lot, so i already know about Nott... well seeing Travis's reaction then was one of the few times in my life i was glad for having read spoilers haha i think i would have missed that completely otherwise
also can we talk about Matt's AWESOME storyteller/DM move right there: you can see he glances and catches Travis having an epiphany, and then you can almost see the gears in his mind computing that if the conversation lasts Fjord could ask some questions to Nott leading to too much of a reveal so soon, so he needs to put an end to it, and comes up with the "oh here's a thunderstorm btw" to fast forward to the next scene and avoid more backstory talk! as a beginner DM i am amazed and wish i can reach this level of quick thinking someday

I feel like we need to talk more about Yasha's reaction to seeing a cat for the first time. It was absolutely adorable, especially when she was confused by Frumpkin's purring, but also foreshadows somewhat about her past. Cats are pretty common animals, and from what she says in this episode it really feels like she lived in a very isolated rough place and she experiences common things like cats or grass or flowers and is amazed by them. I need more Yasha with a cat content

By the standard of the majority of Role Players out there, Ashley remains a brilliantly talented actress (see Last of Us), and when she is capable of giving an amazing and emotional performance.
She is just very slowly developing a character. She even has started speaking with an accent specificially for her character, which is a big step for an actress who usually uses her own voice when performing.

I'd only read about cats in books before so I always imagined purring as a soft kind of noise, so the first time I actually felt a cat purr I seriously thought it was suffering from some kind of lung disease and got genuinely worried. When he’s not trying for cheap laughs, Sam shows why he’s so sought after as a voice actor. He can make you absolutely believe in his character’s motivations with no valley between him and his character.

I think it's kind mean to reduce Sam to a "cheap" comedian. Throughout this and the other campaign, Sam has consistently been a comedic genius. He isn't just a guy making funny jokes, being a comedian is part of his repertoire

I often forget that everyone at this table is a voice actor. Not for any reason in particular, because their voices are usually phenomenal, but Jester's genuine pained cries when she thought Caleb was truly dead and her healing "wasn't working" genuinely sent pangs through my heart and reminded me they do voices for a living, so of course shes going to be a good voice actor. I love this fantastic crew so much.

Ashleys backstory is a pretty complex story about love and loss and lonelyness
Whereas travis' story was basically i was on a ship with 2 dudes and one of them ran off and the other one tried to kill me
And then he let matt do the rest of the work.
Mollys backstory is basically "i woke up with amnesia..." and then he let matt do all the work.

Technically Tiefling is Outworlder+Human/Inworlder's offspring, most of the time it's demon blood/devils blood, but a Rakshasa+Human does means it's a Tiefling as well.

I love how Vox Machina is kinda sorta lawful, but Mighty Nein is almost clearly NOT lawful at all.
Well Vox Machina had 4 people come from "high society" (Percy, Keyleth, and sort of Vex & Vax) so traditional lawful makes sense.
Where as Mighty Nein... well... a Trickster Cleric, a Warlock, a Bloodhunter, and a Goblin... even without the 'edgy' backstories they were never gonna be as lawful as Vox Machina lmao
I dunno, VM were considered pretty chaotic, but this group has marched clear off the right side of the alignment chart.
I love watching a full party of non lawfuls! I hat parties with vastly different alignments who just in fight the whole campaign

Sam never ceases to amaze me with his ability to be a jokester and prankster and even not involved in the story for a half hour or more and then all of a sudden a super emotional moment where you feel like you are actually there watching this happen because he seems so invested in his character and her story.
