Taliesin asks Nott if she put stuff from both chests in the pile and claims to have heard the traps. But Matt didn’t say the rest of the group heard them and Tal didn’t roll a perception check for Molly.
Kinda feels meta-game-y, and adds to a pattern of Tal/Molly being shitty to Nott. Tal has been kinda crappy to Sam in general off and on since Scanlan’s big exit in campaign 1, and he always acts like he’s making some righteous point but his rants and abuses just kinda hit me as unkind and pointless.
Dude literally said he was trying to teach Nott a lesson by being mean earlier but all he did was yell at her. It was ALMOST as weird as him trying to kiss Kaylie’s forehead after finding her eavesdropping on him screaming at her father. I don’t know if he knows how to interact with people.
I love how the Mighty Nein's version of "laying low" is intimidating a town crier and then walking through the streets yelling "hide your kids, hide your wife".
And pretending to be from the Myriad and getting high and walking through the streets lol

Vax Rogue: Got caught by the Briarwoods and nearly killed because he forgot to talk to Seeker Assum. Got stuck inside an Ancient Black Dragon. Ran face first into the same Black Dragon while it was invisible. Attacked one Ancient Dragon right after they'd attacked a completely different Ancient Dragon and hadn't had the time to rest first.
Like ya'll, I love Vax and I love Vox Machina but VM was way doofier than a lot of people seem to want to remember.
If they ever animate the Mighty Nein I want the combat to not focus on Nott at all. Like it follows everyone on their turn and occasionally we see Nott run across the screen screaming or duck behind a box in the background. We see everyone else attack but Nott's bolts come out of nowhere or are already in the monster without anyone realizing she even shot it.
I would lose my shit during every fight, hahah
i feel like there would always be a split second of confusion before you realise that nott is in fact part of the battle and participating
Sam is the party's comic relief

Example this ep: instead of asking Caleb to check the book she found, she instead burns a Ki point to do a half-assed Arcana check because SHE wants to be the one to find the information instead of him. Like, know your party strengths. Instead of trying to one-up the Wizard who is already doing some identifying, save the Ki for the next fight; you're only an hour into the session, one might pop up.

I spend time in my room being a goblin and avoiding people, and when a certain few special friends text me, I go out and spend an hour or two "just being a regular person" before returning to my room and being an introvert goblin for the rest of the night, or week.

No as a dm you need to take these beats to let the game settle a bit. He did it all the time in campaign one but didn’t specifically say, you have 3 days of downtime, they would do pub crawls, day or 2 shopping, talk to people, just do nothing really for a few days.

Look at 3 episodes ago and Ashley couldn't take her eyes off Travis. It may be a crush but there was definitely something there from her.
Antony Jones Laura is shipping Beau/Yasha like everyone else at the table and Laura is the shipper-in-chief, along aside her husband (as evidenced by... all last campaign).
Ashley kept looking at at Travis because she goes a long time in between sessions, and Travis knows knows how to play Barbarian very well, so she needed reassurance she was doing things correctly.
Laura sat at the end because she was sick and pregnant and probably wanted to be able to duck out quickly if she didn’t feel well.
You’re so wrong about this, it’s kinda insulting to anyone that’s been in a close group of friends while in a relationship.

You always protect your party wizard. Early on they won't be of much help but once they start hitting level 6 and up them boys can deal a major amount of damage and help you solve magical problems on the regular.

Caleb ended up getting the drug experience that Molly and Beau were looking for
I'm amused that it didn't occur to Fjord to say "Consume what?" Just went straight for eat the sword.
I think he did try asking for clarification, but Matt pressed "what do you do?" So he had to act quickly.
Matt was also super quick to confirm he was on the right path.
I played a half orc character who, as a child, ripped out one of his own tusks. He was going to rip out the other one but his mother stopped him, then they had a talk and she was all, "You're bigger than them. Beat the snot out of them, they'll get the message." And that's how he became a barbarian.

That's a great backstory
Still blows my mind how in-character and awesome Travis has casually been all this time. In his head he's juggling using his own, real person voice to do a texan accent to mask his characters in-game real voice, and he uses his characters actual voice in moments where he's alone or in his dream sequences and it's so goddamn cool. For him to go from a big dumb barbarian boy to the groups defacto leader that makes consistently strong and sound strategies for the group, while managing his own dual identity (much like the others) has been so cool to watch. Fjord is my fuckin BOY. That's my DOG RIGHT THERE.
I love when things hit, and he will stare at Matt with jaw down, and try so hard to play it cool. He checks out occassionally but when he checks in. Wow.
@@Questfinder1 Absolutely. When he checks-in it is all hype and immersion for Travis. I love seeing him get super into and psyched for other people having their moments. When he does his little quiet laugh and mouthing "yes" while something amazing happens for somebody else? Perfect. He's a super friend, everybody deserves a Travis in their friend group.
I was so excited to see him finally play an intelligent character. You could see how often he would have to bite his lip in C1 because he is so true to character. Every now and then he would say something as Grog and you would be like..... "wow that was the smartest thing that's been said in this group in 5 episodes."

I really like how Nott is so attached to Caleb, being a wizard is definitely costing him quite a bit of money, but because Nott is so protective of Caleb he basically gets 2 shares of the group's spoils. It offsets the cost when he's raking in twice as much.
I mean, Nott doesn't really need a whole lot of money. She only really needs bolts, potions, and booze.

They always appreciate being supported and it means a lot to them!
The group benefits so much having a wizard I feel they should pitch in with their wizards costs. Just being able to identify all the items, and detect magical sources has helped them constantly. When the group depends on the wizards abilities that much they should assist the wizard in their costs. It's like saying we depend on you so much we need you to progress and have your abilities ready for when we need them.
I wonder if they ever get stuck in the voices. I can imagine Sam goes home and screeches, "I am home" at his family in his Nott voice.

It's finally here. The reason I started watching Critical Role.
It was a single image of a Half-Orc floating in water in front of a giant yellow eye, swallowing his sword with a single word: "CONSUME". I stumbled upon this image by accident, I had never heard of Critical Role at that point. But the image just immediately caught my attention. I wanted to know what it was from. I love how Travis covers his mouth to hide his smile. Anyone whose played D&D and been in a moment where it's just you and the DM knows what he's feeling. That excited giddiness where you're going, "This is my story! This is my story! This is my story!", but the tense apprehension that comes from your story coming out of someone else's mouth. You don't know what adjustments were made to fit the narrative and you just can't wait to find out.

It took me a long time to realise this but Sam's commitment to Nott's relationship to Caleb is my favourite thing about this new campaign. That immediate and unflinching willingness at a moments notice to give him all the gold she could spare makes those two characters my personal favourites to follow!

Same for me! I have dozens of fan pics of Caleb and Nott on my phone. What sold me most was when Caleb got taken out and Nott ran to him to cover him and while trying to stop the bleeding she took the blind crossbow shot!!!!! I got choked up at that performance. Then the whole Nott under Molly's spell when she confesses to trying to steal Fjord's Letter for Caleb to get into the school so he could get stronger to protect her and change her......gut wrenching, then immediately hilarious when she swips at the illusion of the jewel encrusted flask, crossbow drawn and says shit when she can't grab it and jets out.
So funny to watch Caleb deal with jester being a flirt.
I love it too, but it also makes me a little sad. Always remember that level nine counterspell :(

I read a few comments on a previous episode. They were talking about the fan-theory that Claudia (previous owner of the inn) is actually a changeling. When Matt said the sceleton is half elven I though he might try to hint that this was the "original" Claudia...

I actually guess the Gentleman actually decided to take them seriously in this exactmoment- monster slaying? Retrieval of loot? Smuggling? He has a lot of people that'll do that for him, that's nothing special in itself, but this, this actually makes them seem way more capable. Also more dangerous, but he does seem to like taking risks.
It was only then that I realized what the entire point of Nott's little "find the alcohol test" was, and I was really impressed. The Gentleman may not have realized that either and also found the idea of those guys pulling that off on him impressive enough to deserve respect.
Question is, though, can they DO anything with the saliva? Is there enough - it's not like he drooled into it? Did it dry in the rim or did she recork it fast enough to keep it moist? Is it separate enough from the previous contents or did the acid contaminate it?
It seemed to me that he plans to use the tabaxi lady (a blood hunter) to use the blood. But what can they do with his saliva, even if it was usable?
@@kyttynkross1121 I don't know if there is anything you can do with this bit of saliva in a magic world, and it defenitely was mixed with acid. Considering that this acid is not real-world reagent-grade purity and was made from something's fluids, Nott must have 2 drops of useless chemical mess, nothing more.
In my opinion, it's not the actual threat, but the prove of their cunning and, cosequently, power. Something along the lines of "You didn't even think about it and we might pull off something much more serious without you noticing so you better nott try to mess with us".
@@StabbeyTheClown But it wasn't. Nott's bluffing here and the test, much like the statement regarding saliva, is at least an attempt at a power play/move. All in all I'd say getting three shiny glass viles was closer to the truth.

Before the campaign started she mentioned that she made Jester to try and be a character to romance Fjord. Travis never does romance roleplay and she wanted to get him started lol
I love how fjord wakes up with a tiny bit of blood on his lip and it turns into a full inquiry by the group.

And molly forgot about the pereipt of wound closure. He kept asking while rolling hit dice during their short rest that he had something that increased those. The item doubles healing done with hit dice used during a short rest
I think he did remember. Fords AC was 14 before but durring the last couple of fights he said its 15. It was a cloak of protection so all it does is just add 1 AC.

@@Camaika1997actually not that old. if i recall correctly the calamity only ended about 800 years ago by the time of the campaign(s). at most the war was a few hundred years so it’d be like finding ruins from like 1000 years ago; not that long by archaeological standards whatsoever
