  • We are all facing decisions every day and too many times the process is overwhelmed by too much thinking. We consider every single permutation and worry ourselves that all the 'what if's really will come true. It's exhausting - and limiting!
In this video, I give you some ideas for ways to cut through the overthinking and make clear positive decisions.

It’s much more difficult to take chances when you’re over 60. I’m in my early 70s now, and all I want is peace and quiet, take time to reflect, and live with myself. We don’t need to always chase the dragon(I don’t mean this in a delusional way,as in LSD) but to be at peace with who we are and what we’re here for. Love this channel.

I can honestly say that I love to finally "Do Nothing". I am an introvert, so the last two years haven't been too bad for me. Worked from 18 to 66 years old. My work record has been to have a job that would pay the bills and to have good medical insurance. Never had a job I loved. I worked with a lot of toxic people along the way. I have been retired for the past 5 years. I am in my early seventies. Happy and Alone.

Margaret this was so lovely. As a small business owner and now a small business owner during a worldwide pandemic I have no time to over think it or become paralyzed. When they shut my salons down my daughter told me to come on YT. I cried for a day and I watched a view videos and I thought, just get up and do it. It has been so hard and yet so rewarding and I would have never done it if this hadn’t happen. It had saved my businesses and my employees.
I admit to being a chance taker and I think it is part of my entrepreneurial spirit. At almost 56 I really have no regrets and I can say , at least I tried.
To any of you out there Paralyzed by fear or the what if’s, remember WHAT IF YOU SUCCEED. You have so much more power than you know. This is not a dress rehearsal, live this life and make it beautiful. Manifest the life you want. I am in your corner!! 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

Margaret, lots of good advice on a topic that is near and dear to my heart. Procrastination can be my middle name when it comes to the bigger decisions. I've found that talking with someone I trust (a friend, a coach) can open my mind to new possibilities, ones I can be passionate about. One suggestion I was given was to ask myself, "How will I feel, if I don't do this?" Another was to try something out before taking the plunge. For example if considering a business, work for someone else in the field for a while first. I also like the 'what if' method, "What is the best thing that can happen? What is the worse?" Usually the truth will be somewhere in between. And regarding relationships ... When we say we don't trust men and we're afraid to try again, what we're really saying is we don't trust ourself to make good decisions. Now that is something to think about. Ouch! Thank you, Margaret!

What's the best that can happen? That's a really good question, I will ask my self, next time I'm about to talk/think my self out of taking action. Thank you Margret❤

Great ideas to put into practice. Yes I am an over thinker, I think that's why I'm more of a spontaneous person . I love going off somewhere, ie seeing a sale on going to Cuba or Mexico or a cruise, feeling how awesome that would be and booking them for in 5-7 day's. I know me, and given too much time, I can talk myself out of doing thing's, that I would love to do, to see. Some planning of course is needed when we want to do something, Travel, relocate sell your house, or deciding your relationship isn't working out....so small changes/decisions, and big changes/decisions. I would love to be a person who doesn't over think, with the what "if's" that keep me from not doing anything...something I will work on. I've missed out on many things because of over thinking...where all the "What it's rear there fears, and what you want, need, doesn't happen. As the adage goes 'If nothing changes, nothing changes."
Thank you Margaret, I need to visit this overt thinking, as I'm not sure I ever have have truly.

Thank you for this. Currently I'm in total paralysis by analysis right now. I'm in the US, and overthink most things as most engineers do IMO. But I just turned 60 last June and would love nothing more than to retire and travel and settle in a small home in EU and have a small biz on the side. I'm not quite ready to retire financially. I've been putting off a trip to Europe for 2 years because of the pandemic. When I do think about the trip I feel overwhelmed as there is so much to catch up on. I don't really do much with my life other than work and watch YT. I overthink everything and it's kinda driving me nuts. Interestingly I came across "Atomic Habits" in Audible the other day. Will check it out. Thanks again for your great vid!

I hope you do not mind my comment and I say this with absolute love! This is it, this life is not a dress rehearsal. We lost a best friend this year to the pandemic and he always said , one day I will, if I just do this then I will. Gillian do not be afraid, buy the ticket and plan the trip and make the changes. I support you 100%!! We don’t have another 60 years. Blessings Gillian🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa

Set the goal of saving as much money as possible by saving into a savings account and increase contributions through your job ( if possible)toward your 401K/403B , so that you can retire more financially secure. Also, plan your European trip including places you'd like to buy a home in and once you retire go and travel without time constraints. When your a year out from actually retiring, start making concrete arrangements for your trip. We can only hope that Covid will be less of a hindrance for travel and you'll find the perfect place to resettle. I've loved watching YT videos about European countries and have learned so much from them.

Unfortunately, it was pain or hardship in my past that forced me to make changes for the better. I tend to stay in my comfort zone if things "aren't too bad". Even though things are not perfect, they could be worse (fear).
    I'm working on it! 🥰

Thank you Margaret! My husband is an over thinker. I'm not. He drives me crazy sometimes but I love him! He's so kind and keeps me grounded. You're right though, sometimes the over thinking stops us from doing anything. ❤

Definitely an overthinker here. I have wanted to change where I live, change my job and or career and meet somebody for quite sometime and have been unable to make those things happen. I like the idea of startiing Small and thinking about the best thing that can happen.

PTL Margaret…Happy 2022, good subject. I had what could have been thought of as a disappointment 1.1.22. Instead of creating a negative narrative, I said TYJ. I let it pass and now see it as a positive. I also practice being. I am getting better at controlling my narratives! I am applauding my personal growth.

I overthink when it comes to hashing and rehashing conversations that I've had with people, often judging if I've mis-said something or offended, and projecting meaning or intent onto the other person's words. This is a form of social anxiety that I am teasing through and intent on relaxing. As far as left brained decisions go though, I'm still pretty decisive, but admittedly I haven't had to make any major ones recently. Funny that at this age my anxiety is coming up to clear, which proves that self improvement and self realizations do not end just because I am a senior.

Margaret, I'm guilty of this, and of being indecisive, all the time. You're right, we were more spontaneous in our younger years. Now, we carry emotional and logical "baggage" that makes us leary of making a move in many instances. Add COVID to the mix! If I'm under serious pressure to decide, it's even worse; I always second-guess, because fear of failure (or rejection) holds me back. Aging gives us so much, both good and bad. I'm hoping to be more nurturing of myself this year, so I'll be making a short bucket list. Baby steps! Thank you for yet another extremely relevant topic. Take good care, and stay well. Rosemarie 💖
