That DIY Water Spot Remover is amazing stuff and should be a staple in every detailer's cabinet, particularly those located in northern climates where road salts are used. The balance of safety and performance is just right.
Thanks Pan, you went over all the options and WOW that coating was not gone but hidden under surface contaminations. This was a very helpful visual proof!
Pan….come awwww man….do the maintenance for your sweet brother Andy. Look at his kind face. :) (I’ve come to the realization that not everyone loves detailing their vehicles as much as we do. I’ve learned that lesson with my adult children.) Thanks for the great content.
Great video Pan. I enjoy seeing the work involved to rejuvenate a coating on a contaminated vehicle. Tell Andy that you're going to start charging him for detailing if he doesn't perform maintenance washes on his Mazda. 😂
Thanks for the update! I applied two coats of Armor Shield IX in November 2021 on a 2012 Honda CR-V that sits outside and is only used a few thousand miles each year. Although the coating gets zero maintenance, after 2 years 7 months, water still beads on the car every time it rains. Now that you have tried Armor Shield IX and MAX, it would be great if you could try their G.O.A.T. ceramic coating, which is their 5-year homeowner coating. I purchased Armor Shield G.O.A.T. to replace the IX that is currently on the CR-V, and I would love to get your impressions of the G.O.A.T. before I apply it. Thanks for your consideration!!
My own personal observation using Max for the first time. Just like other coatings I have used (about 7 brands over 40+ vehicles), Max went on easy, came off easy, but honestly, to the touch, the clearcoat has no slickness to it at all. I follwed up with a plush microfiber cloth and it dragged on the clearcoat instead of gliding. I will see what my customer thinks when he picks up the vehicle tonight. And yes, I follow all the prep steps that I have been doing for over 40 years.
I agree! My vehicle's clearcoat was smooth like glass after I polished. Then after applying AS Max, it was shiny, but no slickness what so ever. First wash will be this weekend after the 3 week time frame.
I got my Armor Shield Max the other day and plan on applying to my car tomorrow. I watched the first video where you applied it to Andy's car and just watched this update. I think since it only took half of the bottle that I will apply two coats instead of one. Especially after watching this video...
Coating did not hold up too well, but i'll take this mostly as a reason to stay on top of my detailing game and not let any dirt settle in for any longer than necessary. Good thing i love detailing my car :)
Yeah for sure at least a good contact wash once a month is a must. And perhaps once every 2-3 months a light ceramic topper to keep the coating in peak performance.
Wow that's a lot. What kind of weather do you live in? With my brother's neglected vehicle, when we had applied the original Armor Shield IX, it lasted approximately 18 months. At 2 years it was pretty much done with.

Have had this on my car since october or whenever you did the first video and can say mine is beading up really well and super easy to maintain. being in florida i dont have super harsh winters, but also do bi weekly washes. just thoyght id add my feedback!
Pan, I enjoy how you go about showing and reviewing products and your tips and tricks. One thing I don't believe I have ever seen you do or show is clean the underside of a vehicle. Can you comment on your thoughts about cleaning that area as well.
Hehe I sure did! Here’s a video about the tool I use: ruclips.net/video/2fOEaNOGTFI/видео.htmlsi=fleMHcZGMeAKEV5V And a video showing it in action during a full detail: ruclips.net/video/t7HCBSVnizM/видео.html
A couple months back I had mentioned how well the Avalon King Armor Shield IX has held up. Today I washed my IROC and the ceramic coating seems to have reached an inflection point and suddendly failed. The water did not bead at all. A month ago it was fine. Since then I had washed my car twice and used Bead Maker, instead of TW Flex Wax, as a drying agent. I just finished prepping the car and will reapply AKAS IX.
I always find myself particularly enjoying the Andy videos:). Lol you'd think though, he might wash his car a little:). Even though Pan is his brother and he can fall back that way.
Hey Pan another great video! I feel you were disappointed with Andy after that iron remover on the hood. Living with another person that is similar to Andy I can feel your pain. It’s a good thing for those that aren’t in the 1%, they have people like us in their lives!!!! 😂😂😂
Pan, thanks for the video! Around May I coated my car myself with the armor shield 9 for first time. The bottle was sitting unopened in the shelf for maybe 8months. Lately im seeing the same behaviour as what you showed before using diy water spot remover. My front bonnet and roof are totally flat, no sheeting or beading. I tried to use carpro descale but seems like in your case, didnt do much. I will buy the diy one soon and i really hope to get the coating back.
Hi Pan, Even though you restored the hydrophobics and Andy didn't take care maybe like he should. To me it seems the Avalon King coating didn't perform as I would expect or hope for. I do have some of this product. I will use it for customers as a discount coating and tell them not to expect too much from the coating. As always I appreciate all you do.
I used Avalon Kings original formulation on a brand new truck I bought, properly prepped and applied, and did maintenance washes every 2 weeks, and the coating was dead after 6 months. I was pretty disappointed. I swapped to Adams Graphene coating and I couldn’t be happier!
Yeah the Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating was applied on my girlfriend's SUV in October 2021, and it's still going strong. 3 year update coming in October.
I tried using the DIY Clay towel on my black car with the iron remover, which marred my Honda paint. I used soap for lubrication but it must've not been enough. I used DIY Rinseless for lubrication with the iron remover on a different car and it didn't seem to mar.
Think I will stick with washing our suv with Adams shampoo weekly. Then three times a year use my new find Stoner Hybrid Ceramic spray detailer ( wax ) Nothing makes you feel better than detailing your car. 🇨🇦👍👍
I used to use Adam's as my maintenance wash, but after switching to Koch Chemie GSF, it became apparent the Adam's doesn't rinse off as well and leaves behind surfactants that plug up the ceramic coating.
Been using Meguiar's Hyper Wash for years now, cleans well, decent lubrication, foams nicely, 400:1 dilution. Best bang for your buck soap out there. $30/gal at your local harbor freight.
How have other cars you have applied AS MAX to held up after 6 months? I have used AS IX and had hydrophobic beading for 2 years. Also, would love to see you use the GOAT! Been a fan for years, thank you for all your awesome content.
None that I have been able to follow up with. But somehow the AS IX performed better on my brother's car compared to the MAX. Welcome to my channel. I used the original avalon coating a few years ago on my 300c that I did myself after following your instructions on coating DIY and I loved it an it came out great. I got somany compliments. But now I have a newer new Infiniti Q50. I'm may take to a detail this time (prep is a lot of work). Which is better, Teflon Coating or Ceramic Coating for shine and protection..
I haven't used teflon coatings. None of the reputable coating brands produce those, so I'd stay away from that technology, and go for tried and true ceramic coatings from brands like CarPro, Gyeon, Gtechniq, DIY Detail, Ethos Car Care, APEX Surface Protection, etc.
@PanTheOrganizer Thank you. And I'd like to let you know that I have been following you for quite a few years. I think you give great honest reviews and great demonstration for people like me that like to do their own detailing. Keep up the good work.

@PanTheOrganizer truthfully by accident. i was looking for some car waxing tips on youtube, and one of your videos popped up, and I was hooked ever since.
anxious to watch this.. I installed this on 2 of my vehicles, worked great for about 6 months, but now i am not getting the hydrophobics. I have washed it with ph neutral shampoo, iron remover with clay mitt, and just still isn't performing like I would have expected it to at 6 months. I just got some Descale so going to try that and see what happens with a FULL decom wash.
You should try finishing with a water spot remover product. Here in Colorado, I’ve found that the acidic washes like CarPro Descale or the slightly better Koch Chemie Reactivation Shampoo aren’t enough for some cars, especially when not washed during winter. Spray some water spot remover over the panels, then take a damp microfiber and wipe across panel, don’t scrub just wipe it once through the entire panel. Then rinse and you may restore the hydrophobics, it works for me more often than it doesn’t. I’m not saying it will for sure work on Armor Shield as I don’t use that product, but it has worked on the coatings I’ve applied.
Pan, in this situation, would Avalon king be responsible for issuing a refund due to the fact that their claim of not having to perform any maintenance for a year is clearly not true? Would this type of performance be covered under a warranty?
They do say they have a 3-year "NO BS" warranty on the MAX coating though, so I'd be curious if someone did have a total coating failure (which isn't the case here), what they would do. You can certainly reach out to their customer service department. And I have a feeling that to be able for the brand to do something about an issue, it would have to be a total coating failure, and you'd have to prove that you performed all the prep and installation step correctly, and did a minimum of maintenance. Only professional grade coatings applied by certified detailers typically offer true warranties. And even in those cases, good luck trying to claim the warranty if something goes wrong. No consumer grade coating has a warranty. Nobody would offer refunds if a coating doesn't perform as intended, as there are so many variables to account for. By no maintenance, they mean no ceramic toppers are needed. Most coatings require a topper once every 2-3 months. But they did not say not to wash the car for six months haha. Not washing the car definitely has an impact on any coating. And as we saw, in the end, the coating wasn't dead, it was just clogged, as was to be expected as my brother had not washed the car in half a year. I don't think any of my viewers would let that happen. People who watch my videos normally take care of their cars. This was a worse case scenario type story.
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks for the reply pan! Interesting to know that there aren’t any consumer grade coatings that offer a warranty. Good info to know for people applying it themselves.
So is the alkaline foam followed by a acidic wash not too harsh for the ceramic coating? I have a coating too and I am using the Stjarnagloss spray sealant as a topper. I also make sure to try and wash my car regularly. Will a PH neutral shampoo like Koch Chemie GSF and NMS or Stjarnagloss Sno and Bubblor suffice?
For regular washes, stick to pH neutral soaps. But every now and then, for a deeper clean, you can absolutely use higher pH snow foams for the pre wash (like CarPro Lift or Bilt Hamber Touch-Less or Labocosmetica Primus 2.0) and an acidic soap for the wash (CarPro Descale and Labocosmetica Purifica). Coatings can withstand that no problem. Just don't use them for every wash as it's not needed. See my ultimate spring deep clean tutorial: ruclips.net/video/oTaFE_p2OAw/видео.htmlsi=I3IIer0hmc1Pmx_n
The only iron remover I have is CarPro Iron X. Can I use Iron X in the same way with a synthetic decontamination towel or would that product not have the lubricity to be used in that way? Great video, TIA!
I bought Armor shield Max 1 month ago and I am waiting to be applied by a professional detailing next month when my car is scheduled! Seeing this review about how AS max is doing after six months I am a bit disappointed. My question is if I should go for another ceramic coating? Thank you very much for the review!
Yeah I have to say I was a bit disappointed with its long term performance. Of course, keep in mind that my brother neglects his car and did zero maintenance during those 6 months, so that doesn't help. Regular washing of your car is important. I have my own line of premium detailing products coming VERY VERY soon, so I think you'll be impressed with what you see, so you'll definitely want to stay tuned. ;)

Pan you don’t have moisture issues doing this inside your garage? Here in Florida I would end up getting mold and damaged drywalls if I did the same thing.
ZERO issues, as it was designed and built with detailing in mind. Mold resistant drywall, mold resistant paint, large garage 24x24 with 13' ceilings, heat pump to heat/cool year round, dual floor drains to drain water, and a big dehumidifier to keep humidity at bay, etc. See my garage tour for all the details: ruclips.net/video/wx6HTBAzeXI/видео.htmlsi=a6wgMQWGx2dR743w
No. I use these soaps often. Lift can be used on a weekly basis to pre-wash a ceramic coated car no problem. And Descale is made to remove accumulated mineral buildup, used once in a while is totally safe on coated cars. As you saw, it's the coating that was deeply clogged with minerals, beyond what the soaps could do. Hence why the water spot remover was used here. And that really brought back the hydrophobics. If the coating was stripped off, it wouldn't bring the hydrophobics back that way.
Hi Chris. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 1 million subscribers and we have over 140 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. To answer your question, yes you can use CarPro Lift as a pre-wash on a weekly basis. There is no need for that, but yes. For regular washes, pH neutral is all you really need. You would use a higher pH snow foam and acidic soap once in a while for deeper cleanings, when you see the coating needs to be rejuvenated. Weekly, as a pre-wash snow foam, you could also use Koch Chemie Active Foam (pH 9.5) which is not as high pH as Lift.
Great video. I'm scared of what the underside of the car looks like. We use salt on the road where I am in Ohio in the US. (Lake Erie) and no washes will destroy the car in no time. I'm also skeptical of the DIY Waterspot Remover as I've seen at least one other test where it was even sprayed on an uncoated area and suddenly the uncoated area behaved the same as a coated area, but then changed when another WSR was used.
My brother had a rustproofing treatment done for the undercarriage in inside of the doors. It's important if you keep your car long term in winter climates.
I wish AK wouldve stood behind their product when I was having issues with it. When it worked, I really liked it. Then for some reason it did literally nothing the third time I used it (new bottle everytime). AK gave me no support when I contacted them.
I don't know if I'm sold on all these ceramic coatings. I wash my cars every week or two and just apply a quick spraying of Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax every 3 months. My cars sit outside in the hot Florida sun all day, but my cars look and feel great - water beads off of them like crazy. $20 bottle from Walmart gets me about 20 applications. Don't understand why you'd have to keep "maintaining" the ceramic coatings - it seems like a lot of work on top of all that money already spent to get it coated. Will stick with my routine until someone sells me on the coating, but I did enjoy the video!
hey Andy is there a different option for the decontamination towel from diy detail because I can't find it in Europe only one from carpro but I don't now if it is synthetic ?
I’m Pan. Andy is my brother. You would have to make sure the decon towel you are buying is a synthetic perforated decontamination towel (DIY Detail, The Rag Company and P&S make some).

Awesome video Pan as always especially liked this real life scenario. One question I have is on my CarPro UK 3.0 ceramic coated car, how often should I do the maintenance washes with high and low Ph soaps and IronX? I use the car only in weekends (covering 15k km per year) and is garage stored so not exposed to the elements and live in a country with 300 days of sun and not so harsh winters. I applied the ceramic coating 4 months ago and a month ago topped it with CarPro reload and can say that the coating properties are still the same as day one after the application. I am considering doing this special washes every 6 months, whats your opinion on that? Car is washed at least every two weeks. Thank you as always for the continued knowledge.
Hi Pan, I’m trying to figure out something. I have an 2021 Audi SQ8. When new I had CQuartz professionally applied. The same detailer refreshes the coating at least once a year with Gliss. The car is never in harsh weather and is always garaged. I wash the car myself using Reset. It’s been through a touchless wash maybe 5 times in 3 1/2 years. In the summer we’re in Montana. So when it rains the car can get a lot of dirt clinging to the paint. The hydrophobic properties are still very good, but when I pressure was the paint the dirt is very difficult to get off. It’s strange. I watch people pre wash their cars with a pressure washer and the dirt seems to wash away easily. Not me. Any ideas as to what may be going on? Thanks as always. Love your videos.
Good to see Andys car being looked after. I would always save up and get the best for my car. For a similar cost, you could buy Carpro CQuartz UK 3.0 or S.I.C or stack both together, which is what I have done, which is very durable. I just don't trust these types of brands, IMO
I thought any surface cleanser, iron cleaner, ect would remove ceramic coatings? I understand clay bar, polish does....I'm hesitant to use much other than paint detailer...
Iron removers are totally safe on ceramic coatings. In fact it's actually recommended to use them at least once every 3-4 months for maintenance, or more often depending on your level of brake dust contamination. Keep in mind most iron removers are pH neutral in the bottle and become only slightly acidic on the surface when they react. Coatings have much greater chemical resistance, so it's of no concern. Traditional clay bars are not to be used on coatings, as they are abrasive and you'll damage the coating. But there are newer synthetic perforated decontamination towels, like the one used in this video, that are non abrasive and can be used to decontaminate the surface if you feel contamination in the paint (gritty texture, sandpaper like texture). As long as you use appropriate lubrication during the process. Here's the link to that decontamination towel: bit.ly/3OdJKJI
Is a water spot remover really necessary if using CarPro Descale? Unless its heavy water spotting, id have thought descale would take care of it. Also, a little disappointing performance after just 6 months. But i suppose with no maintenance at all, its expected.
CarPro Descale is a good first step to remove light water spots that are quickly attended to. If that doesn't work, you step up the aggression by using a water spot remover like DIY Detail Water Spot Remover or CarPro Spotless 2.0 And yeah maintenance of coatings is important, even if it's just regular washes. Better to wash the car at least every other week, than not wash it for 6 months haha.
Pan, based on what you know at this point in time how would you compare the AvalonKing coating to the Cerakote version 2 since either one can be applied by DIYers?
Cerakote V2 is still too new to draw conclusions. We need more months to see how it performs over time, especially given that V1 failed after just a month. I will have more updates in the future.
Same result here, with a well maintained car. So i think this coating won’t last more than a year. Disappointed versus the 1st version this one is worst .
No feedback with Avalon about this and very hard to find comments over the web to know if this append to other people. Looks like they filter everything except here. A bit of transparency will be appropriate with them ! Marketing is agressive but support definitely not showing up.
I fully agree Jamie! It's insane just how much a multi-pH system and a mineral deposit remover car unclog coatings. People who think it's impossible to have a clogging clog overtime don't talk from experience haha. Especially here with our insane winters, all that grime and salts really do their thing. Heck even you in your environment have seen this first hand. Hope you doin' well brother!
Hey Pan, what size orofice do you use in that? And what is your GPM and PSI? Just got the same foam cannon and wondering if i should go 1.1mm with a cheap electric 2.0 gpm and 2000psi
My pressure washer is a high end Kranzle 1122TST that has a 2.1 gpm water output (higher GPM means more foam). I set it to 1000 psi thanks to a 4.5 orifice nozzle. I keep the stock 1.25mm orifice in the foam cannon. 1.1mm is only typically used for those who have lower powered pressure washers below 1.5 gpm of flow. I am surprised you say your "cheap" pressure washer pushes out 2.0 gpm. What pressure washer are you using? Cheap usually means below 1.5 gpm
I coated my car with Avalon King original. I wash it once a week and used the orinal Avalon King topper. It looks fantastic and beading is incredible. You have to maintain your coatings. They are not miracle workers .
Yeah maintenance of coatings is important, even if it's just regular washes. Better to wash the car at least every other week, than not wash it for 6 months haha.
I love your videos, having a detail business myself. I am disappointed. The hood had zero hydrophobic properties left. The iron and clay bar should help. However I very skeptical on what you did. The video cut before the iron and water spot remover were applied has me thinking you added a topper to give it the temporary beading for the video :(
No toppers here Angel. If you watched the video, you'd see the water spot remover is really what helped to unclog the coating. This is a product often used by many detailers when coatings seem to lose their hydrophobicity. That being said, this was an extreme case scenario as my brother did not even wash his car for six months. Any coating would suffer if treated that way. I am also not super impressed with this coating compared to many others at this point, but it hasn't failed yet. Time will tell. I certainly would recommend that viewers do a wash at least once a month when they have a coated car (or any protection for that matter). It's never a good idea to never wash a vehicle haha. Also, as you saw, this isn't my typical well produced video. This was simply a brother's day to hang out, in which I decided to film a quick update and have him film a few clips along the way. I hope this answers your question.
It depends what specific ceramic coating you have. Not all of them have the same durability. A lot of the durability also comes from proper care and maintenance.
No. Descale is a mineral deposit remover, made to remove things like water spots and accumulated minerals and limescale buildup (hence the name DESCALE). It can help to start to strip very old waxes, but will not have an effect on a true ceramic coating, other than rejuvenating it by removing minerals that can "mask" the coating's properties. But even Descale alone won't remove a weaker freshly applies wax. Only machine polishing can ensure 100% removal of any existing protection.
@@PanTheOrganizer thank you very much you are great really explain the reasons why things are done not just telling us do them. Against thank you for taking the time to answer my question..

@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan, looking forward for your review. Nope I haven't tried it, but saw the product's review on a Japanese channel and it's available in Carzilla.
@@PanTheOrganizer Agreed. It would be great when you do review and product testing to include both of P17 and P17s together. 🙏 Currently I'm using wet coat, and tempted to give P17s a try.
If I had to choose between Gyeon and CarPro then I would always choose CarPro. IronX is simply worlds better than Gyeon Iron. whether for rims or on the paint. 😇 CarPro is hard to beat 🥳
@@nicholaswicks3077 CarPro is WAY more effective. You can see it best on rims. Gyeon Iron sticks to the rim and discolors. That's it. IronX discolors and just runs onto the floor with all the dirt. Never seen this before. 🥳The cleaning performance with CarPro is simply much better. Bath has no Chanse against Reset, and Restart absolutely none against Descale. And after Gyeon has raised the prices sooo much, for me Gyeon is simply out of the race for Number 1 in the Premium Class 🫡😇
Yeah the differences are minor at best. As those are two top tier brands. But the new Gyeon Iron evolved does have a much better smell (almost like bananas) and very low on the rotten egg scent compared to IronX. But performance wise they are near identical in my opinion.
@@PanTheOrganizer that‘a right, the smell is Not the best 😂 But there is a solution to this problem 😇😂 close the garage, take a Deep breath and show the Iron X how a real fart can stink.. 😳🤯😂😂😂😂 After that the X isn't so bad anymore🫣🫣🫣😳🙈
Amazing how many times you repeated that the car hasn't been washed in 6 months with your brother there 😂. Great reminder to keep your car clean if you want to keep your protection 👍
In Andy's defense, he provides a "worst case scenario", which is what you want when doing product testing. If he took care of the coating and it beaded right up, there wouldn't be much of a video.
Only a small percentage of my viewers do worst case scenarios I assume hehe. Most people watching detailing videos usually love taking care of their cars. So ideally, at least a good wash once a month is better than doing nothing. I wish my brother took more time to take care of his car. But hey, at least he has me. :)
Thanks James. Yeah this will not win any awards in my annual car detailing products awards video. Even though it was a worse case scenario with my brother not caring for his car, I have seen many other coatings still do well after 6 months in identical situations. I'm a bit disappointed. To be fair though, however, after a thorough deep clean and decon, the coating is still there. I can't say it's dead. It's not great, but not dead.
I commented in another video regarding the Adam's Advanced Graphene & how I was a little disappointed in the vertical panels--especially for a 9 year coating! But, I don't get to wash my truck even weekly; so next time, I'll try to add a little extra decon--and especially the spot remover. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
thought it would be like day 1 after the wash and thorough decon. I'm not impressed at all Avalon! looks like your old 1 year coating not 3. there's no reason that shouldn't be performing better than it is. even with the neglect. there's other 3 yr coatings that would've done better on that car in the same conditions .. that's all im saying
I totally understand your point and I share that same disappointment. I would have expected better results, despite the fact it was a worse case scenario here with absolutely zero maintenance and zero washes. Ideally, you'd wash a coated car at least once a month, but I too have seen other coatings still do better under the same conditions. Even the first version AK Armor Shield IX seemed better. That's why I like doing these long term tests, real world scenarios with daily drivers, to give feedback to my viewers. What's your favourite ceramic coating Stephen?

✅ The new AvalonKing Armor Shield IX MAX coating: avl.kg/panas9max
Great way to highlight the value of high-ph and low-ph washes, Pan. Andy never minds a free wash! 👍👍
Thanks!
That DIY Water Spot Remover is amazing stuff and should be a staple in every detailer's cabinet, particularly those located in northern climates where road salts are used. The balance of safety and performance is just right.
Totally agree!
Thank you.
Thanks Pan, you went over all the options and WOW that coating was not gone but hidden under surface contaminations. This was a very helpful visual proof!
Thanks!! Sometimes when we think the protection is gone, a little more deeper cleaning and investigation is worth while.
Andy is a legend..... wonderful foresight not to wash your car and have your brother make a video of it getting done.
Haahhahha 😂😂😂😂
Pan….come awwww man….do the maintenance for your sweet brother Andy. Look at his kind face. :) (I’ve come to the realization that not everyone loves detailing their vehicles as much as we do. I’ve learned that lesson with my adult children.) Thanks for the great content.
Hehe believe me, my brother gets a lot of things from me. He is well treated.
Great video Pan. I enjoy seeing the work involved to rejuvenate a coating on a contaminated vehicle. Tell Andy that you're going to start charging him for detailing if he doesn't perform maintenance washes on his Mazda. 😂
Hahaha for sure!
Thanks for your consideration!!
i have the same. applied early 2021 and still doing incredible. Curious about the GOAT though
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jeff.
I agree! My vehicle's clearcoat was smooth like glass after I polished. Then after applying AS Max, it was shiny, but no slickness what so ever. First wash will be this weekend after the 3 week time frame.
I love the fact that the DIY decon towel can be used on coated cars!
Yeah it's not abrasive.
Thank you.
Always good to see Andy! Glad he takes one for the team for all the harsh real world testing !!
For sure hehe
Thanks for using DIY Detail to decon. I thank Andy for giving us an extreme test.
Hehe yeah this is as extreme as it gets. Clearly he doesn't have my genes haha.
I got my Armor Shield Max the other day and plan on applying to my car tomorrow. I watched the first video where you applied it to Andy's car and just watched this update. I think since it only took half of the bottle that I will apply two coats instead of one. Especially after watching this video...
Great video, Pan! It's so nice to see your brother 😊 appreciate the update.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I had great performance with the original Armor Shield IX. 3.5 years and still going strong!
Wow that's a lot. What kind of weather do you live in? With my brother's neglected vehicle, when we had applied the original Armor Shield IX, it lasted approximately 18 months. At 2 years it was pretty much done with.

I think he enjoys having me film a video with his car, as he knows he gets free maintenance, without any effort on his part. LOL
I'll have to give this a try on my coating. It's still good but I'm sure it could use a little help.
Andy, you are just like my brother when it comes to cleaning your car.
Hehe I wish he was more like me, passionate about detailing his car! :)
Hey Pan another great video! I feel you were disappointed with Andy after that iron remover on the hood. Living with another person that is similar to Andy I can feel your pain. It’s a good thing for those that aren’t in the 1%, they have people like us in their lives!!!! 😂😂😂
Exactly!! Hehe. My brother is so happy when he brings me his car. Zero effort on his end, and he gets a free detail job haha.

Hmm weird. Did you reach out to DIY Detail to ask Yvan what his thoughts are?

Think I will stick with washing our suv with Adams shampoo weekly. Then three times a year use my new find Stoner Hybrid Ceramic spray detailer ( wax ) Nothing makes you feel better than detailing your car. 🇨🇦👍👍
I used to use Adam's as my maintenance wash, but after switching to Koch Chemie GSF, it became apparent the Adam's doesn't rinse off as well and leaves behind surfactants that plug up the ceramic coating.

Do you think the high pH soap could have stripped some of the coating off? I’ve watched test/videos that show that is the case.
Pan....How do you manage to keep from spraying snow foam on the stuff along the walls of your garage? If it was me everything would be covered in it.
1) it's a fairly big garage (24x24 with 13' ceilings)
2) experience (27 years of detailing helps)

Can I use the Geyon Iron (original version) with the perforated decontamination towel?
You'd have to check to make sure it doesn't contain solvents in it.
Good work!

Hi pan! whats the update now?
Can I use a Clay mit? i don't have a clay towel, if can't use the mit...I can go get a clay towel
why did you use iron remover and mineral remover twice in this vid?
Mother claybar like a computer mouse is good to use in cars with ceramic coating?
No
hey Andy is there a different option for the decontamination towel from diy detail because I can't find it in Europe only one from carpro but I don't now if it is synthetic ?

Pan, can I use clay towel on ppf?
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Pan,
I’m trying to figure out something.
CarPro is top tier for sure

If that doesn't work, you step up the aggression by using a water spot remover like DIY Detail Water Spot Remover or CarPro Spotless 2.0
And yeah maintenance of coatings is important, even if it's just regular washes. Better to wash the car at least every other week, than not wash it for 6 months haha.
Are there any coatings that would perform well after 6 months without a wash? I’d guess probably not
Yes for sure there are better ones out there, but generally speaking, at least a good wash once a month helps with coatings perform better over time.
Have you tried out any of the detail geek's products?
No
@PanTheOrganizer Is that something you're going to do in the future?
Pan, based on what you know at this point in time how would you compare the AvalonKing coating to the Cerakote version 2 since either one can be applied by DIYers?
Cerakote V2 is still too new to draw conclusions. We need more months to see how it performs over time, especially given that V1 failed after just a month. I will have more updates in the future.
Same result here, with a well maintained car. So i think this coating won’t last more than a year. Disappointed versus the 1st version this one is worst .
Yeah somehow the original AS9 seemed to be doing better after 6 months.

Does that towel marr or scratch the paint? I've seen mixed reviews
It has no abrasives. If used with proper lubrication I haven’t seen marring issues.
@@PanTheOrganizer could I use Gyeon foam as a lubricant?

How often can you apply ceramic coating
It depends what specific ceramic coating you have. Not all of them have the same durability.
A lot of the durability also comes from proper care and maintenance.
@@PanTheOrganizer I used the Avalon king armor shield IX DIY ceramic coating
Isn't a descale a stripping shampoo to remove coatings ?
Hey Pan, any chance to do review on 'Bola' products? 😁
Funny you would ask, I have received many requests for a review of BolaSolution products in the past months, so I have been testing a few of the core products in their lineup, so you will likely see a full review soon! Stay tuned. ;)
Have you tried their stuff?
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan, looking forward for your review.
Nope I haven't tried it, but saw the product's review on a Japanese channel and it's available in Carzilla.
Yeah Korean brands are usually top tier (CarPro, Gyeon, etc)
@@PanTheOrganizer Agreed.
It would be great when you do review and product testing to include both of P17 and P17s together. 🙏
Currently I'm using wet coat, and tempted to give P17s a try.

If I had to choose between Gyeon and CarPro then I would always choose CarPro. IronX is simply worlds better than Gyeon Iron. whether for rims or on the paint. 😇 CarPro is hard to beat 🥳
Worlds better in what way? I’ve used both and only noticed that carpro smells better
CarPro is the BEST!!
Can’t wait to see this. Very nearly got the first one but glad I didn’t.
lol you threw Andrew under the bus “this vehicle has been neglected 6 months without any wash” lol you Pan bad boy 😂😂😂
Hehehe brotherly love.
Amazing how many times you repeated that the car hasn't been washed in 6 months with your brother there 😂. Great reminder to keep your car clean if you want to keep your protection 👍
Yeah, you'd think he'd get the message! HAAHAH
👌🏻
Thanks for watching!
Definitely does not seem like a strong contender for your Awards. No, you're not being too tough. You're being honest! 👍
My pleasure James.
So your brother would be a great tester for a non detailer type of person....a ying and yang so to speak
LOL yup

And 😂😂
Thanks for watching David!
@@PanTheOrganizer love your content
Your poor brother, lol. jk. Keep on keeping on with the cleaning!
That's the plan! 😂👍🏻
thought it would be like day 1 after the wash and thorough decon.
Yes 1st
