Really excited to hear about this. Big fan of the original armor shield. can't wait to try this out.
I’ve applied AS IX twice and have been very pleased with it and with the support from Avalon King. I ordered AS IX Max this evening before watching this video. One important application detail is to wipe off or buff the finish as soon as it flashes (depending on temperature may be as soon as 1 minute). If you don’t buff it off quickly enough it is nearly impossible to remove the flashed product from the finish). I do much smaller areas before buffing than shown in the video. With AS IX I always apply 2 coats to ensure full coverage. The gloss is amazing.

How is the slickness? Me I don’t have any slickness at all. Gloss and hydrophobic are very good however.
Congrats on the fresh coating, Andy! That's always a great place to be, knowing it's going to be a good few months before you have to worry about your protection layer again.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations Andy and thank you yet again Pan. Cheers brothers.
Thanks!
Congrats Andy! You deserve all the best!!!! I love seeing you!
Thanks for watching!
Really happy to see they have upgraded the applicator pad. That foam block was terrible! For the beginner or non-professional diyer, I do think this is an acceptable product. User friendly, that doesn't break the bank, and provides a great result. The new and improved version looks even better and I will definitely consider purchasing. My only beef with Avalon King, is when they have a sale. I live in Canada, and when I tried to purchase Armor Shield Lite, $25 immediately jumped $10 plus tax and shipping, which brought the final price to almost $50. Not a great deal, and I was unable to get the advertised price, after numerous attempts. I gave up and purchased Maguiars ceramic topper at Walmart for $20. It does the same job I'm sure, for half the price.
I used the previous Coating and absolutely love the easy application... This and Gyeon Can coat are my favorite to apply...
Thanks for sharing your experience Frankie!
Pan, I really appreciate your detailed review. Extremely helpful showcasing your steps. I used AvalonKing 9 on my brother's motorcycle, amazing protection! His bike always looks amazing and it's a show stopper when he wipes off the dust for admirer's. It's great to show your work on different cars, most of us can only dream about detailing a Porsche!
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. I work hard to produce my videos, so it's nice to see my efforts don't go unnoticed by my viewers.
Thanks for the video pan! And Congratulations Andy on your new coating and home. 😊
Our pleasure!
Congrats Andy, Thanks for another awesome video
Thanks 👍
Big hallo to You and your cool brother Andy. I have mentioned that to you once before but you are my teacher I’ve been in the business for five years consistently I’m gonna open my own shop soon thanks to your Ceramic video that I watched long time ago. My whole life has changed for the better just by watching that one video of yours changed my whole life so I can’t thank you enough pan
That is awesome! Thanks for that positive feedback!!
Great video! It's great to see the new changes. I really like the new applicator, so much more versatile.
Thanks!
Thank you Pan! I've learned a lot from you and I also appreciate the product reviews which helps me making my choices.
Good luck with your channel and I continue to stay tuned! Kind regards, Ben Roos
Thanks for your support Ben!
A lot of people hate on it for being a rebrand. I used it and it is easy to use and does last a decent time
Congrats on your new home Andy! How exciting!
Thanks for watching!

Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you and congratulations to your brothers new house 🎊

Great overview of this new coating Pan. I didn’t think the original Armour Shield 9 could get any easier as it was already the easiest ceramic coating I’ve ever used (even easier than uk3.0). I think I’ll probably grab some of this stuff just to try it out. The problem I have with Avalon King is that I think they have some quality control issues with the formula, I’ve applied their coating several times and have seen inconsistent results; for the price though, it’s too be expected.
Thanks for watching! Yeah the original was sooooo easy to apply, it was the easiest when it was released years ago. This new one still retains that ease of application, and should in theory last longer all with just one layer, so I'm looking forward to real world testing to see how long it goes.
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. The first Avalon King coating was super easy to apply. Looks like the new coating is as easy to apply and more durable. Enjoy your day.
Thanks for watching!
@@PanTheOrganizer please reply 🙏 Pan could you please tell me what we could use for those that have used the turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic spray coating and alike that can go over top for dealing with the water spots? (The one's that don't come with the extra step)
I don't understand your question. If your paint has water spots, it depends how bad they are and how deeply they etched through the clear coat. You start with the less aggressive method first, and then see the results, and move up with more aggressive methods if the water spots aren't gone.
1) Use a waterspot removing shampoo like this: amzn.to/40txSJz
2) Use a waterspot removing spray like this: amzn.to/3uf65Ak (the car has to first be washed, and then you use the spray on a clean and dry surface)
3) Machine polishing.
Can wait to see the durability. Also the new GOAT coating looks awesome 😮. Thank you for the review
Thanks! I’ll be monitoring the durability for sure.
Pan, you are a word class gentleman! Love your content!
Thanks for the kind words, I truly appreciate it!
Congratulations, Andy on your new home! Congrats on the new coating on your Mazda!

I'll let him know! :)
I applied Avalon King to my 720S almost two years ago, and the properties seem to still be effective on the PPF. Since it's been two years, I think I'll try their new product. I love that it can be used on glass, plastics, etc. Thank you for the review, Pan; your videos provide excellent visual demonstrations.
Thanks! What color is your 720S? Those are beautiful cars. If I didn’t have my 911 Turbo S and didn’t care for all wheel drive (I drive it in winter), I would have loved a 765LT!
@@PanTheOrganizer It's Sarthe Gray 2022-such a neat color. It appears black at night, but in daylight, the blue in the gray shines through. I considered the 911 T, but the McLaren's dihedral doors were irresistible. The sunroof's two-tone, button-activated design is fantastic as well. I'm eyeing the 911 T for the future, but I'm already tempted by the new McLaren 750. All the best!
Was wondering about this stuff! Really wanna try it out
Thanks for watching Joel!
Great video Pan.
Thank you!
Wasnt happy with my AS IX so i contacted them and theure sending max as replacement.. great response. Also thanks for including the tire dressing in the notes, looks terrific. And, of course, congrats to Andy!
Oh good to know!

Hi Pan. Even from PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND here again. With all these new coatings you should do at some point in time a review of the top five and see if there's some sort of tool that measures the gloss factor of the paint and see which one comes out on top! These videos are great thank you for all your great work. When I'm visiting my family in Montreal I'd love to see your shop sometime lol!
Thanks Stephen!

Congratulations to Andy for living his best life right now with a new new home and freshly ceramic coated vehicle. That kicks a$$! I’m interested in the durability of this new Avalon King formula.
I will also be curious to follow how this coating does over the coming months and years.
Thanks for a great video Pan. I have used this ceramic on a few vehicles in the past couple of yrs and really look forward to using the new MAX....with a 3 year protection. Looking forward to 2024 on the new Avalon King NEW ceramic!!!
Andy...Congrats on the new House...Now you need to make it a Home!! 😜
Thanks for watching Edmond! I hope you are doing well.
amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video Pan! Ive just bought this thanks to your review! I applied it to my new Audi q4 it’s a big car so it took just over 3/4 of the bottle but I covered everything from windows paint, plastics to wheels. It pops now. can’t wait to see its hydrophobic capabilities!! Installed outside in the UK weather it was just as easier as their last coating.

Thanks for watching!
Way to go Andy! 💪
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations to Andy, on his new home.
👍🏻
This coating looks amazing. I wish my car has less dirt with my System X ceramic coating on it but it seem to attract so much dust within a day or 2.
Super excited to try this ! If I was to use the Armor shield lite every 2 months what can I use when I after my weekly wash’s for a drying aid/ final wipe down.
You can use Lite as often as you want. Or any ceramic or graphene based quick detail spray that you want.
Very cool video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Pans smile when he rubs the panels for the slickness tells you he really loves what he’s doing he’s not faking it.
Hehe thanks man! Even after 26 years of detailing, I’m still so passionate of this craft. It’s a true artform that makes me happy.
I hope you’re having a great weekend! 👍🏻
@@PanTheOrganizer that’s awesome man happy for you. It’s not work when u you love what you’re doing and thank you hope you have a great weekend also.
Don't get me wrong producing videos is super demanding and time consuming. It's actually the hardest thing I ever did in my life (and I studied in medicine, so that goes to show just how hard it is to produce quality RUclips videos consistently year after year). But yes, at least I enjoy producing them. I have been doing videos since April 2016, so we're coming up on 8 years of videos, over 1000 videos so far, with new ones added twice weekly.
Plus I can spend up to four hours each day personally replying to RUclips comments, as I like being connected with my viewers. No other big channel does that. I won't lie, it does take away from my personal and family time, but in the end, I'm so passionate about detailing, it's nice to see my viewers share a common passion with me.
@@PanTheOrganizer yeah that’s crazy how time flies I been watching your videos pretty much since the beginning I can’t even imagine how long it takes to put a video together after editing and all that. I really appreciate that you always reply back to my comments and others that’s really cool and times consuming I did wonder how you do it lol I don’t know if your girlfriend helps you with the replying part lol. You definitely help me and others pick the best products and help with new ideas and techniques to detail it’s my hobby, I’m a weekend warrior when I have time to keep tight and keep my car clean. 😅 keep up the great work man look forward to your next video and all the new products from this years SEMA.
Thanks for the kind words! You sent me positive vibes! 😁👍🏻
I have really been enjoying Pan's videos. After watching his initial review of the previous product I ordered two bottles. Then I watched the Dimitri's Garage video where he tested that product with washings and it failed after two washes! Adams Graphine Ceramic, tested the same way lasted hundreds! I hope Pan begins doing actual testing for things like durability..BEFORE..posting reviews.
Be careful what you accuse me of. You need to get your facts straight before dropping false accusations. I saw his video and he tested the old silver/chrome bottle Armor Shield IX, not the new MAX black bottle version. Two COMPLETELY different products!
The previous one I had tested in real world conditions and made many updates. It lasted 18 months on a super neglected car. Here’s a two year update video that I made: ruclips.net/video/2f6baiZskeA/видео.htmlsi=P93Qtb3uuY2vHqMF
This was an entry level super inexpensive coating especially with the discount code. Are there better coatings? Absolutely, but they are usually more expensive. The Adam’s Advanced Graphene Ceramic Coating is significantly more expensive. So yes of course it should absolutely last longer.
This new MAX version only requires one layer and the claimed durability is three years. I will be making updates on that too.
And it’s not because a product doesn’t last in one person’s conditions that it means it will not last for another person. There are tons of variables to consider for durability. Prep, application, conditions, weather, mileage, maintenance. I have covered that topic many times in the past.
I have also been testing the Adam’s Advanced Graphene Ceramic coating for over 2.5 years on my girlfriend’s car and it’s still doing ok. It did start to lose a bit of its original performance, but it’s hanging in there. It likely won’t last the full claimed 9 years though, as weather is brutal in Canada.
The only way to test a coating is to apply it and see how it does in YOUR specific conditions. Multiple wash test in one video doesn’t mean much. Nor do chemical resistance tests. Real world tests on a daily driven vehicle is the only way to draw true conclusions.
Also, NOBODY would test a product for four years before making a video... I hope you realize how stupid that is. By the time you'd be ready to make the video, there would be hundreds of newer and better products. The best thing to do is to apply, show people what the product is about, and do real world updates every now and then when possible.
Already preordered mine!!!
Enjoy!
After using DIY details 3 year graphene coating I cant go back to any other coating both personal and professional. But Avalon King is a decent choice also. Good Video!
Thanks for sharing!
Wife said I can’t watch you anymore I keep ordering stuff 😊. 4 hrs to go hang out in your bad boy media room 👍thx Pan for all the great videos .

Wow Andy's car looks amazing!!!! Like candy!!!! and it deepens that nice grey color!!!!
It came out great!
I was looking at buying this but there's not a good enough deal for Black Friday! They give you some free gifts, but that was what they were given before Black Friday. It's still cost $90 anyway, I want to look at it.
Another great video pan!! Congratulations on your new house Andy!!🎉 Pan, is there going to be a discount code as there was for the first edition? Thank you. 👍👌
No discount code, but for a limited time they’re offering a free bottle of the Lite spray maintenance topper.
It was three summers ago that I applied AS IX to our four vehicles. (We are in the north-eastern Ohio area.) First, the coating on my car remains fantastic; however, consider that my '88 Camaro is a summer-only car and is hand washed followed by Turtle Wax Flex Wax as a drying agent. The IX is nearly spent on my wife's Trax and my Silverado--both are year round drivers, are solely tunnel washed weekly at the local Car Wash, and had gotten only semi-frequent ceramic detail spray applied (tough to do in sub-zero temps). Finally, the Equinox coverage was spent after the first year--our older son had it in college in Stuebenville for year one and our younger son now has it at Ohio State. That car was lucky to have been washed whenever they came home with it. It's really all about the maintenance. Next summer I will be busy with five cars (older son recently purchased a Colorado) and this new product!

@@PanTheOrganizer I've been a subscriber for a couple of years and occasional commentor. I have been fastidious about cleaning and maintaining my cars since my first (1976 Mustang II) when I was in high school in the 70s. I recall first using Pledge, of all things, on its interior!
Hahaha yes Pledge, and the good old oily overly shiny Armor All days! And the terry rags (way before microfiber towels were invented), and leather chamois to dry (before microfiber drying towels were a thing) and hard to buff waxes! The good old days hehe. A trip down memory lane for sure!
@@PanTheOrganizer Actually, a combination of a "greasy" turtle wax product (it was clear) and consitently using a windshield sun shade has kept my dashboard pristine after 35 years of ownership. Can't say that a lot about thirdgen Camaros--most are cracked and warped. Have a great evening, Pan!
Absolutely amazing that AvalonKing brought a more durabale coating, with great features to the market! I love that the curing time is only 4 hours, fantastic! Great video Pan, like always❤. Congratulations to Andy on his new home, hard work definitely pays off👍🏻

Hey, Pan. Love your videos. Ty for the content.
I just bought a 2023 model Y. Which ceramic coating would you recommend? I have watched all the different videos , with different products you have used. I just need help nailing it down. Ty

There are so many coatings, at different price points, there isn't one good answer. It depends on your needs, your experience level, your budget, and if you're looking for a pro grade or DIY consumer grade coating.
One thing is for sure, all my top products recommendations are in my popular annual car detailing products awards here: ruclips.net/video/KRv7vKsuliQ/видео.htmlsi=zhvoyi8oL1jho8sC
I didn't do 2 coats of the original coating, but I was able to get just a bit over a year out of it. Car is only washed maybe once a month and sits outside 24/7. I was a bit disappointed, but it is what it is. Going to try EXO v5 next. I think the AK GOAT coating was $200 during their early offer or whatever. I'll hold off and see what thats all about...
I'm looking forward to test the G.O.A.T. coating and see what that nanodiamond tech is all about.
Hi Pan, awesome channel, you’re the GOAT. I have a Boxster, just wondering if there’s a ceramic coating for the fabric roof? None of the solutions I’ve used are hydrophobic for very long and I wonder what the best maintenance solution is? Thanks!
Thanks! For fabric tops, there are some fabric coatings like CarPro Fabric 2.0 but none are designed to last for years like oaint coatings due to the soft surface they’re applied to unfortunately.
Always enjoy your videos Pan, thanks! I applied armor shield IX to my kids car about a month ago. Was sorta disappointed, likely cause I only applied one coat. Can I decon and wipe down and put this one directly on top, or is there another step before applying the MAX?
You must remove the previous coating by machine polishing. It’s the only way to ensure 100% removal of any previous protection, especially a ceramic coating.
I'm watching yor videos and inspire for the detailing. Keep doing in the same way. I will try soon the AvalonKing ARMOR SHIELD IX DIY CERAMIC COATING KIT and check the results :)

Oh no .. I just ordered Armor Shield IX last night. Ops! Did not see Armor Shield Max on the site . Great stuff . I have the previous coating on my car. Lasted 3 years .
Thanks for sharing your experience with it!
I guess I just didn’t read the info on the original Armor Shield product but thought it was a 3-year product and not a 1-2 year. I have a car that lives outside 100% of the time in Atlanta, GA and has gotten a 3-month top coating for the last two years and it finally failed. I’ve re-coated it with the original product and then saw this new product. I may hold off for the upcoming 5-year product. Just need to see Pan’s review of it. As always, great video Pan. Please keep up the great work
Thanks! I’m also looking forward to test their 5 year G.O.A.T. Coating.
Thank you for this video @PanTheOrganizer! After watching your video, I purchased the Armor Shield IX Max coating. I have a quick question, in the video you said that the new version requires a single layer coating, but can it be applied over 2 layers. If yes, what is the technique and what's the wait time between applying the 2 layers? Thank you!
Hi Pan, I like the Armor Shield Coating the only issue I had was water spotting. This is normal from what I have learned. So I had to put CarPro Gliss as a topper. Then it was better from rain no problem but from the sprinkler system I had to get the car dry soon as I could. I wonder if the MAX will be better at water spotting? I do love the new one coat and dry time.
I’ll be looking for things like durability and water spotting issues in my long term testing.
Great stuff Pan! Would you still consider this also a beginner's coating? I have never done it, so wondering if I can go for it as a first timer or stick to the previous version for my first try.
It has more advanced technology compared to their beginner coating (the original Armor Shield IX) but yes, a beginner can absolutely apply the new MAX version, as it's just as easy to apply! If you have applied a wax in your life, you can definitely apply this coating.
I used Armor Shield 1x on my vehicle over two years ago and i really love this product. Recently I applied a differnt cermaic product ,and i wish I stayed with Armor Shield. Armor Shield was much easier to apply versus the new product used. I am sticking with Armor Shield going forward. I love the ease of use ,.protection , gloss of armor Shield.
Thanks for sharing your experience!

Let's go!! I hope you are having a great weekend. It's getting quite freakin' cold here in Montreal (0C) already. :(
@@PanTheOrganizer I live in the state of Georgia and it’s just starting to get cold 🥶
I love your channel and every time I watch 1 of your videos I feel so inspired to go and detail my car. My question to you is, I don't have access to a garage but I can work in the shade all day but since I'm not in a control enviroment what can that do to the curring time?, with all the wind, dust and or bugs that might land on the vehicle before the 4 hours, should I cover the car in any way?
Thanks for the kind words. It’s certainly not ideal to apply a ceramic coating outside, but if you absolutely need to, you must follow some basic guidelines:
- don’t apply in direct sunlight, only in the shade on a cool surface
- don’t apply in temperatures below 50F (10C), ideally being closer to 68F (20C)
- make sure you do it on a day with no rain
- not a windy day where dust flies all over the place
Great video as always Pan! I applied the original Avalon King coating a few months ago and so far so good. Do you have a video that shows how to remove a ceramic coating and prep the car for new coating? Also, I used my original Avalon King on all the plastic inside my car, can the Max be used that way as well?
The only way to remove a ceramic coating is by machine polishing. So you would have to redo all the steps from A to Z. Decon wash, iron remover, clay bar, machine polishing, IPA wipe or paint prep spray to remove polishing oils, and then apply the new coating.
The AvalonKing coatings are only meant for exterior use.
Pan, great video, I have never heard of this brand before. I am very interested in the new G.O.A.T. product. I would love to see what you think.
Thanks! If I get enough viewer requests, I'll try to look into it when it's officially released.
I would be interested in seeing a review on the new Armor G.O.A.T 5 year ceramic coating
Excellent demo Pan; just wondering if you can also apply this coating on the kompoloi hanging from the inside mirror of the Mazda. Yeia sou!
Haha bravo opa!!
Hi Pan, great video. What's the best : glaco or ceramic glass coat ?
What “ceramic glass coat”? Be specific on the company name and the name of the product.
But one thing is for sure, Soft99 Ultra Glaco is the best glass specific DIY coating I have tested.
Can you go in direct sunlight after applying it in the shade or do you also have to wait 4 hours for that?
Thst slip up in the beginning was full on funny!
LOL
Brave to go for same brand once more. My trust in the brand would be quite low. But will be fun to see how it plays out. Let's hope for Andy that the coating will perform well :)
Didn't he say Andy's car was kept outdoors 24/7 in basically the extreme of canadian conditions? Seems pretty good to get 18+ months on that considering he didn't do any maintenance and used car washes?
Yeah it was actually pretty decent performance given the lack of maintenance and poor conditions it was exposed to. He was quite happy.
Would you consider doing 2 coatings? Does that make any difference at all? Great work as always Pan
No need for two layers here, unless you want a second coat to ensure proper coverage.
Do you recommend using this coating for all surfaces like you did in this video or should a trim coat be used for trim and this coating for paint etc?
Up to you to decide. It's versatile enough to be used on pretty much all the exterior surfaces, so might as well take advantage of that, you'll be saving a crap tone of money. But like any versatile coating, it lasts longest on paint, compared to other surfaces. On glass, wheels and plastics, I expect about 1 year. Time will tell.
You should do a video helping your brother set up the products and machines needed to maintain his car at his new house
Probably best to make it beginner based since he is probably newer to detailing
Unfortunately there is no space in his garage for that. :(
Great video! What do you do with the rest of the solution as there is only one applicator in the package? I do not see another that can be purchased? Do you use another brand?
Once opened, you have about 1-2 months to use the rest of the coating before it becomes unusable. You can purchase other microfiber coating applicators, like these:

@@PanTheOrganizer thank you for the reply! I really like your videos and I have learnt a lot. :)
So is AK one of the more enthusiasts friendly coatings to use if you're not a pro detailer?
Correct. They are the easiest ceramic coatings you can apply in the DIY category. Nowadays, many brands are catching up with ease of application, but when the original AvalonKing Armor Shield IX coating was released many years ago, it was the easiest coating to apply by a long shot.
Hi Pan, I've been enjoying your how-tos and product reviews. I referenced this video a few months back when I applied MAX as my first attempt at a ceramic coating and it came out great on my vehicle. I was curious if you have tried the other new AvalonKing products that released around the same time as MAX & GOAT, like the newer Shockwave & Sadistic Suds Shampoos, or the Psycho Pro Graphene Spray. If so, would love to hear your opinions on those.
I haven’t yet. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 1 million subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.

Bonjour pan j'ai déjà pré commander Goat seulement 500 en prévente de fabriquer et j'adore Avalon king Light tu fais un très bon porte parole pour Avalon king merci pour tout les bons conseils je suis de Joliette ( Genesis g90 )
Merci Jean-Guy!
Looking forward to test this out when my Armor shield 9 wears out. I applied in 2020 and my car does get park in garage at night so the 9 is still hydrophobic until today. Btw: what are you using for tire shine?
Good to know. Here’s the tire dressing I used in this video: bit.ly/2ZXCKt3
Great video. I'm curious if a second coat would extend the life even further?
No. The second layer is more for those who want to make sure they got proper coverage. Only one layer is needed.
Yasou Pan and Andy,
Thank you for the video on Avalonking ceramic coating. Which one do you recommend for someone like me who has never used or applied a ceramic coating - is it this one by Avalonking or Cerakote? Thank you,
NIKOS
Both are super easy. Pick the one easiest to purchase for you.
Can't decide between this and the new Cerakote from two videos ago.
Have you done a video evaluating color wraps for cars ? AND if not, I would be interested in your opinion of them and their life expectancy vs cost. Thanks
That’s not detailing so I doubt I will look into that.
You had the original Shield9 on the car. Did you polish the old off first, or over the original? I literally have the original and was planning to put on today, but now thinking about ordering the new.
I explained it in the video. In this specific case, as we knew there was no protection left, all that was needed was a decon wash with the stripping soap, iron remover, claybar, and IPA wipe. The paint had no crazy swirls or scratches and we want to preserve as much clear coat as possible, so polishing wasn't needed here.
But if you still have paint protection left (if you still see water beading on the surface) or need to remove swirls and scratches, then yes you'd machine polish the surface, then IPA wipe, then apply the coating. This will allow the coating to properly bond to the clear coat.
