I am English and I love Range Rovers, but I have to admit that they are in no way comparable to American rigs when it comes to transmission, axles, etc. You have a lot of hard work ahead of you if you want to make this a reliable, competent recovery rig.
Thanks for yet another great video!! Love you guys!! But...... As for the RR-build..... You are sooooo gonna brake those axles... And as far as trimming goes..... You've got a lot of cuttin to do.... Anywho... I love it!! This is gonna be great!!!
wow there's a lot of 1/2 empty glasses down here in the comments. So what if it breaks stuff? That means more free, fun content when it gets upgrades. I'm loving the way this is going, it looks awesome & maybe it'll be better than we expect. It's a win win anyway. Big thumbs up from me.
Definitely put hydro assist on it. I have ran 40s for years now, and I should have upgraded before I put them on. It is so much easier turning, especially when the front locker is on.
Running 40'' tires on 1/2 ton axles is stupid. You need to find some 3/4 to axles, front and rear or you will be breaking all sorts of the drivetrain parts. Your brakes will also suffer badly. They do make heavier duty axle components for American trucks but I'm clueless as to a Range Rover! Wasted money, time and you will destroy the vehicle quickly.
It can be done on the Rover axle as long as you don't drive like an idiot. He has two things working in his favor - first, they are just ATs, not MTs, so should be lighter and have less over-all grip. 2nd, Patis tend to run small for their size, again saving a bit of weight. But you do need to do full upgrades with better shafts, CVs, and lockers.
Did same same fender trim an slice open one tire made it home an just removed the fenders, fucking shine that idea man just take the fenders off an makes flat fenders for it..😎💯✌
Transmission fluid cooler! Even with lower gears those tires will still work the transmission harder. As you know heat is a transmission’s worst enemy. Keep her cool she will live longer. You will likely need axle trusses to keep from twisting and bending the housing.
Awful lot of negativity here today, LOL. I think Casey would win this one but, what the heck, it's sure fun watching so you are achieving your entertainment goals anyway.
Ha ha ,have to tease you , I can hear the dogs "Ruff Ruff " I rhink Casey should come and assist you on engineering aspects of modifications . Rhe flares could have been removed, trim the steel guard ,set the flare back on but mount it higher up on the guard !!
Just because they clear on flat ground, DOESN'T mean they will clear when articulating. You either need to lift the suspension or put smaller tires on it. But I'm willing to bet that once you shred a $400 tire, it will be much more evident... Good luck.
Don't do no. Flexing or going through no ruts at tilt cuz you going to scrub and eat your tires all too pieces. Can't wait to see the video on that one😂😂😂😂
With 40's and spacers them axles and u joints don't stand a snowballs chance in hell. I'd name it the ultimate money pit. Better load up the parts cannon .Now that skidder would make the ultimate recovery rig.🍻
@@quintonbartolotta *Yes, birfield joint= more internal friction and heat, balls must have continuous lubrication. Very prone to dirt and contamination.*
@@quintonbartolotta he's used to cost-cutting open knuckle designs. As an upgrade you can run a RCV 30 spline yota CV if you have a set of shafts cut for the 30 spine and use new drive slugs. Watching you think you know how much you need to trim vs how much we know your going to have to trim is comical. LOL
This was frustrating to watch

One of you sit on each side. Cut until you can see each other. This will get you a starting point.

Waiting for Casey's responds/comment. 😁
Nice! Is there going to be a yankum tug-of-war at some point? ☺☺☺Thanks for the video

It sounds like you and Casey are going to have a competition

Maximum money pissaway and silliness. Predictably short service life.
I would suggest you apply anti seize compound on those bead lock bolts

Like the way it’s going you need to put a diesel engine in it that would give it the torque and reliability for a recovery rig
Imagine using grade 2 bolts on a Bulldozer, shits gonna break fast. Same principle by using such oversized tires on a light duty SUV.
Lol Casey isn’t running 31’s , 37s or 39s . Use soap and water mounting tires they will fall on
I have a 1971 Ford highboy for sale which is one of the best off-road trucks to modify with a divorced transfer case. $8,000 grand

You should call this project “The Ultimate Discovery Recovery”. Love your videos. 😊
Casey
This is an awful idea. And I'm here for it to watch this all unfold...lol.

Nope you’re wrong it will work perfectly
Casey is going to win because you are going to break something in the drive train with those tires.
You win! YOUR UP IN NOSE BLEED TERRITORY NOW!
Brave man on LR axles
35s are being brave hahaha
The Iron Throne Recovery Vehicle (ITRV)
Love that shop pleas more Videos
Why didn't you tighten the bolts in the proper sequence?
To make people like you comment on my video and boost the algorithm

It will self clearence
Shredding your tires off the wheels, is NOT a form of self clearance. It's the best way to get Casey to tow your wrecked Rover, back to the shop.
What about a gear change?
Nice truck dude
strange rover
Good job
I think you are to put some KC lights across the top of it. And I look Really good. And put 2 on the front of a new bumper.
Wish just adding big tires is all there is to it 😂.....
Definitely need gearing change. Check your speedometer reading to GPS reading.

Land rover axles dont have u joints, they have a birfield joint
@@quintonbartolotta Sorry my bad . Have fun replacing them over engineered fragile P.O.S.🍻

Thumbs up great video,
HUGE tires! I love it!
