Very nice presentation. I'm always upset when focusing on a specific camera that the content maker/videographer finds it necessary to compare primary camera of the vid to another camera totally out of it's league. Otherwise I love your shots and the r100 video not too bad. Your English is easy to understand which makes it nice when watching the vid.
Hi and thanks! I am glad you liked the video... And yes, it is alway tricky to compare pretty much anything - since there is so many features with different importance for different users... Best, Jan
I watched this review after booking my Canon R100 in local store. Yet to receive that in my hand. Thanks for good reviw. It will be good if you could have added few sample pics of inbuilt camera HDR filter. I am still in confusion should I go for 200D mark 2 or Canon R100 with EF to EOS R adapter for my existing EF lenses?
Hi and thanks! I am not sure about 200D mark 2 - no such camera was sold here in my country. Do not you mean 250D? If so, it is still a good camera but, yes, it is around for many years, so I am not recommending it any more... Good luck! Jan
I think you would be better off, as I did, to get the ef r adapter and use the ef/s lenses, I mean buy the r100 body only, as I did and use the ef lens, it works very well.
Hello. Congratulations on the review. Could you tell me if all the photos were taken in jpeg and if you used any creative mode? What was the configuration used for the jpegs? They looks amazing! Greetings from Brazil.
@@jan-rybar I disagree, I see a lot of creative in your shots in this video, don't undersell yourself. Creative mode, in my opinion, is the eye, not the edits.
This camera is starting to be sold for under $300 brand new, is it a better than buy at >$300 compared to the $600 r50? Main complaint I see is the fixed screen, every single camera I own has a fixed screen its a non issue. I shoot portraits and product photography.
Well, my personal opinion is: if you can, go for R50... I really liked it a lot, it is a really good entry level camera which can serve you for many years... R100 is not bad, but has some serious limitations... Good luck! Jan
I just used the R100 for a fashion portrait shoot today for a local company here in Vegas. Client and model loved them. I owned the R50 and returned it, not worth $700 IMO. Put that extra $300 towards a nice lens. An R100 and a great lens is way better than an R50 and an average lens.
Hi and yes, you are definitely right that it is a good lens that makes a great photo... My point is that you can really feel the difference between R100 and R50, which is simply better in some areas. Best, Jan
Hi, there are just two types of footage: if you see the camera in it, it is shot with the iPhone (13 Pro or 15 Pro), the second set (the city...) is shot with the Canon as such... Best, Jan
Canon R100 is really an entry level camera, so - yes - you can take photos of models, but there would be many limits. So I would advice to go for a mode advanced type... Jan
Thanks, well, you would be able to use it for wildlife, but as I said it the video: it is really a "very" entry level camera, so I would suggest to find, say, R50, which is much better... But I am not sure if it can fit under 400 USD price tag... Best, Jan
It is a hard question - R100 is really very basic, but new camera, Canon 250D is a legend which I really like, but much older... So I would probably go for R100... Jan
No You can get a R100 and an rf 50 mm lens in 700$.......in this price range this is good. in real life senario unless you shoot video you dont need touch screen. Nikon has no 50 mm in this price range. And in sunlight or in night that evf helps you a lot. R100 with 18-45 mm and a 50mm is a good starter . You can add a rf 100-400 later for 600$ ...now tell me which camera gives you that in this price range.
VERY NICELY IN DETAILED EXPLAINED. GREAT WORK. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thank you! Jan

Thank you! Hi, all these photos are only JPEGs without any edits or filters, so no creative mode at all... Greetings from Prague! Jan

How is the face or eye auto focus for portraits? Does the R100 have them and perform as well as the R50?
Is this one better then a sl3? For first timer and going to start a photography course in 2 weeks
Rn its 400$ for it and a 210mm lens , would that be worth it?
Thank you for review in English!😅

I decided against it and picked up a Sony A6400 a few days ago

Thanks so much for the video. V. Helpful. Would you recommend this for wildlife? If not what could you recommend for under $400 used? Many Thanks!

@@jan-rybar I did look at the R50 as you suggested in the video but nothing below $400 yet. Thanks for your speedy reply!
