I bought one of these brand new for $237 a month ago and I am loving it. I have a lot of EF lenses and I bought an RF 50 mm. I'm enjoying this considering it cost almost nothing. I'm going to probably get a better full frame Canon in a year or two.

Very good video. I just purchased the R100 and got it because of the fixed screen and non-touch screen, plus I don’t do video, so this camera fits my needs very well. Especially coming from many years of using the 5D Mk2 camera.

I really like your way of explaining. I tell you that I have a Canon Xsi (450D) and I think the concept of this Canon R100 is very similar to that one. Of course, there are a few years difference and different technologies, but I love my XSi, and I will surely love this R100. Congratulations and thanks for the information. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Enjoyed your discussion on the R100 but I was surprised that you did not mention the lack of IBIS.

I have R50 and I actually never use the touch screen. I just love physical feedback with my fingers.

What about the start up time? I still use the 100d dslr which looks like this and has a toughscreen. The naming is also confusing R100 is cheaper than R50. Excellent review!

How would this camera compare with the older eos 2000d, I'm torn between these 2

I have never used the Canon D-SLRs so I cannot say but I can say I could never go back to using a DSLR after using mirrorless cameras.

The Canon Cripple Hammer, strikes again. :)) OK, I get it, when on sale, it is really cheap, and will still render images of quality. The Nikon Z50 is a tad steeper in pricer, but well worth it. Go Nikon! I am loving my Z5 full frame, which cost $997 USD on sale. By far the true bargain in photography. And the Z40 f2 is such a compact little guy for a few bucks. I have a Canon RP and it is OK in some ways, but after getting the Nikon, it is so much better. The sensor dynamic range, and many other reasons Nikon is in for the win.

That $997 price point isn't even comparable. The R100 is made in Japan and only cost $299 brand new. Throw on a canon ef 100mm f/2.8l macro is usm and RF adapter and your are in the game. For Video just use your iPhone due to the crop on 4k on the R100. iPhone 4k videos are no joke and many movies have been made using iPhone Pros. For the money the R100 can't be beat for anybody wanting to get into mirrorless or even photography. Now I just need to get a few fixed lenses over time , by then I'll be ready to get the whatever model comes out in the future if I enjoy the hobby. I only have this one lense and im new but im amazed by the quality of photos!!!!!
