This song is legendary…it was at number 1 on the Billboard top 100 for three weeks when most songs got just one or maybe two weeks in the entire 1980’s. It was and is my fave song ever!!!
I was a senior in high school - this song is one of the best of the 80s! All of the members of Poison are definitely members of the PDC! The lead singer is Bret Michaels. Oh, to be 18 again!
Just saw them several months ago opening for Motley Crue and Def Leppard. They still sound as good as they did in the 80's. And they have such a great vibe, they still act like they are having the time of their lives on stage
@raymondcarver476Joan Jett and Def Leppard were still great, but Poison was definitely the most engaged/engaging, imo. And, they were, by far, my least favourite of the four back in the day. The Crüe need to stop. I left before their set even ended.
I grew up in the 80's and they were one of those bands everyone loved. They have so many hits. You should react to "Nothing but a good time" and "Unskinny bop".
Great reaction Girl. I'm 66. So beautiful to see a younger generation appreciate the older CLASSICS. YOU ARE TRULY SPECIAL. Keep sharing the love. & God Bless You. And I made sure to read and like ALL COMMENTS.
My favorite Poison song has always been "Talk Dirty to Me". When I was young and in shape I wore a cut off Poison T-Shirt with that title on the back of it when I raced in 5Ks, 10Ks, triathlons etc. Always liked hearing the reaction people had to it when I passed them.
Lead singer Bret Michaels is an amazing person. Managing life as a major rock star and also a country music star coping with Type 1 diabetes. It ain't easy. Yes, Bret Michaels does reality TV nowadays. And has been a long time PDC member. Members of Poison are Guitar: C C Deville, drums: Rikki Rocket , bass/piano Bobby Dall, rythym guitar and lead vocals: Bret Michaels.
I've seen these guys live 4 times and they never disappoint. I got to meet Bret Michaels about 8 years ago after a performance at a very small venue. He's a really, really nice guy.
Love the reaction! Fun fact Bret wrote this song in a laundry mat in Dallas TX. While on tour sorry just the music nerd in me. Yall have a blessed one!
I loved poison in Jr. HIgh and High School. Years later I would pass a house on my way to work and the Garage was painted to say Rock of Love. I drove by twice a day not knowing. Months later when the show came out I was crushed. Brett Michaels was there! And I just drove by. ☹️
Singer Bret Michaels was on Rock Of Love but he was also on The Apprentice with Donald Trump. The guitarist is C.C DeVille, bassist Bobby Dall, drummer Rikki Rokkett.
When I was in eighth grade my local neighborhood friends and I would meet and watch MTV top 10 in the morning before bmxing or skateboarding to school. Talk Dirty To Me was the big Poison song then. Summer before freshman year in high school Every Rose dropped all the panties!!!
He had a show that fixed up motor homes..can't remember what it was called. But Brett Michaels is awesome!!! 80's teenager here so yeah. Fine as wine in the Summertime ...
Poison is the definition of glam metal. They wore the crazy outfits, all had long hair and makeup, and their songs were so catchy, whether they were ballads like this or fast-paced bangers! It's a rabbit hole you'll enjoy going down..."Fallen Angel", "Unskinny Bop", "Nothin' But a Good Time", "Fallen Angel", "Something to Believe In", "Talk Dirty to Me", "I Won't Forget You"...all big radio hits in the '80s. Enjoy!
The reality show was rock of love...and I just saw Brett yesterday here in pa..his home...he was absolutely amazing...60 yrs. Old and rockin it like yesterday!!!
I've been a fan of Bret Michaels "the Rockstar" since I was a kid but, I became a fan of Bret Michaels "the Man" just a few years ago and he will have my undying respect for the rest of my life. Bret Michaels grew up not far from where I live in Pennsylvania and he is a type 1 diabetic. He put on a show for diabetes research at our local theater and not only did he give away free tickets to anyone in our area with the disease, but he also taught lessons at a local music school. He liked playing with the kids so much that when he did the theater show, he kept his band on the bus and invited the kids to be his backing band for the concert. If that wasn't enough, when the show was over, he personally shook the hand of every kid that played with him and took pictures with their families. He made time for every last one of them and that proved to me that he is a class act. A true local boy made good...
Yes, Brett Michaels is gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous eyes and a beautiful voice. "Something to Believe In" is one you need to react to, but do the official video.
Being a teenager in the 80's, class of 91, Poison's open up and say....ahh was one of my top albums. I wore it out. Loved every song on it. In my opinion, that album and Looked What the Cat Dragged in was their best stuff. I still enjoy those albums.
You are the best and by far my favorite that does these videos. I love the way you break things down, you're very knowledgeable and you can sing too. I'm glad I came across your channel. I'm addicted to watching your videos now 😄. I'm disabled and try to find ways to spend my time. Thank you for helping me get through some tough days. You have a nice personality and easy on the eyes, so it all works out great. 😊
My high school boyfriend dedicated this song to me on the radio when I broke up with him in 1989 lol. Every time this song is played now my husband teases me mercilessly about it.
That guitar player is Ritchie Kotzen. He filled in for their normal guitarist C.C. Deville when he was kicked out of the band for substance abuse. C.C. is back with the band.
For all those that are saying the guitarist is C.C. Deville , in this video it is NOT C.C. He was kicked out of the band for cocaine use for a couple of years. The guitarist in this video is Ritchie Kotzen. He recorded 1 album and a live DVD with the band. He got kicked out when the band found out he stole the drummers fiance. To his credit he was married to her for 11 yrs after so it wasn't a wham bam thank you ma'am.
Honey, that is Brett Michaels, and the show was Rock of Love! And that luscious guitar player is CC DeVille. Love, love Poison. And they definitely belong in the PDC! ❤❤❤
I love Poison so much, but specifically Bret Michaels. He has been my rock & roll husband for 35 years... he just doesnt know it yet! 😏 My fiance' took me to see them in concert about 8 years ago. Front row seats!! My fiance' kept pointing me out every time he came to our seating area. He reached down smiled at me with them beautiful blue eys, winked at me, then grabbed my hand. I about lost it! I've seen them in concert 3 times. They're amazing live!
Their usual guitarist was C.C. DeVille but this is Richie Kotzen on guitar here. They recorded one album with him and then found out he was sleeping with Rikki's (the drummer) fiance so they kicked him out. No PDC for him.
Something to believe in is awesome. The part about his best friend is true. He stops lip syncing at one point because he tries not to cry. Winds of change by scorpions is also good. It’s about the Berlin Wall coming down and has all real life historical video in it.
Lead singer, Bret Michaels is very talented and an 80s legend. He was also runner-up on The apprentice and shocked everybody because people didn't expect him to do so well because they thought he was just a rock singer. Their song "Something to Believe In" is very good and has a deep message that can resonate with almost everyone.
Amen 😢
Epic song.
That's one of my most favorite songs from them. I enjoyed this one and Every Rose Has it's Thorn . Lots of good memories from both songs.
My friend died in 2001 from drugs. That song tears me up thinking of her.
My favorite poison song and the video is so sad knowing that the reaction to seeing his friend is genuine just kills me.
Rock of love with Brett Micheals was the name of the show lol
It was my very guilty pleasure for sheer ridiculousness. Lol
He was on The Apprentice I believe as well
